Thanks for the suggestions.I think I'll listen to Piece Of Mind than Live After Death and go chronogically up the discography seeing as you guys suggested pretty much everything.
For the love of God and all that is holy: Do NOT touch anything where Blaze's voice is audiable.
Songwise = Good Blaze = Bad It's like listening to a bad cover of Iron Maiden. The live versions where Bruce sings proves that they are good songs, just been butchered by Blaze.
I completely disagree with this...person please don't listen to this person, they have a poor idea of metal vocals if they think this. Go away and listen to look for the truth and fortunes of war and come back when you get some ears |

With all due respect:
Blaze is NOTHING compared to Bruce in singing ability. Not to mention that Bruce's voice is better. Bruce's voice contributes a HELLUVA lot to the "Maiden" sound. Maiden dont sound like Maiden without Bruce. |
out of all the maiden albums it is one of my least favourites.
it only really has four good songs
Dude, 'Be quick or be dead' is awesome 'From here to eternity' is abit on the weak side 'Afriad to shoot starnger' is good (but better live) 'Fear is the key' and 'childhoods end' are a bit meh 'Wasting love' is great (but again is better live) ok album gets abit weak from 'the fugitive' to 'Judas be my guide', which is one of the best songs on the album. Weekend warrior is about the same level as 'from here to eternity' FOTD is way better live than on the studio album ok that may look like i shot myself in the foot with half them songs but they are still good and i still say it is a good album, better than number of the beast which people constantly say to me is their best album (for some reason) |
Blaze is a fantastic vocallist in my opinion, the songs on X-factor and VXI were written for his incredibly emotional and dark voice, X-factor is my favourite maiden album bar POM, this is due to his voice mainly and the fantstic qualities he has, I love Bruce and would say he was my favourite vocalist of all time, but maiden with bruce are different than with blaze, for a start X factor and VXI are MUCH better than NPFTD and FOTD, both bruce albums, both badly lacking in quality, the vocals are differnt but I would say that bruce and blaze were incomprable dude to the difference in their tones and styles of singing

Ollie im gonna have to borrow a Blaze album off you one day, i havn't heard any Blaze except Futureal and Man on the edge

these songs are poor examples of his ability, I'll lend you X-factor |
ugh all this talk of X-Factor is confusing me, my mums watching the X-factor with that bitch Sharon in it
|
Blaze is good, just he was unlucky because unless you were a clone of Bruce you were always going to be slated. He's got a good voice, but he's not Bruce. Same problem with Priest, good singer, but he wasnt Rob Halford.

^ the truth
|
Blaze wasn't all too bad.
|
I've been after his solo albums for a while, but I can't find any except As Live as it gets, which is a fantastic album.

Is there a live album that maiden have done called Ullevi
|
Is there a live album that maiden have done called Ullevi
Its a bootleg from the current tour which I linked to in here a few weeks ago, but it was a YSI link so its probably expired by now. |
Is there a live album that maiden have done called Ullevi
that is the place they played in sweden on this early days tour...so mp3 files that are marked Ullevi are from this show, it was recorded by swedish TV and transmitted across scandanavia /crap, beaten, damn you Andy :upset: |
As much as I love Bruce, Blaze's live performance of "Afraid To Shoot Strangers" completely blew away Bruce's studio version.
|
I wish Death on the Road had the same intensity as Rock in Rio has.
Bruce just seems kinda out of it on this album. However, Paschendale pwns on it. |

and blaze's studio version of SOTC beats the live one with a rusty hammer |

The Audio CD of it was leaked a while ago...I don't want that though...I'm after the DVD! Just Downloaded the Rock AM Gig video thingy, it's really cool. |
Where'd you download Rock am Ring from? I've been looking for recent maiden live performances for ages now.
|
What about Paul? I thought he was great. Just a bit overshadowed.
|
the Paul era has definatley gotta be my favorite.......i remeber a bit while back someone said paul had a solo album out... anyone know anything about this?
|
Dang, someone who prefers someone over Bruce haha...I like Pauls stuff and all, but it just can't compare to Bruce sometimes.
|
for me it's Bruce > Paul >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Blaze.
Paul has an amazing amazing voice. I think they should have called Paul when Bruce left. |
Bruce > Blaze > Paul
gg. No need for explanation, Blaze was a much better vocalist for what Steve wrote in that period. |
