Yea, Infinity1/Rockabilia (same company) have a large selection of band and non band related crap, if you're willing to pay a bit more. It's like 20 bucks for a shirt.

Yeah, but shipping and all. Its not thats its overly expensive, but if sometihng happens...its not like we can do sometihng about it when its on the other side of the world.

I just rather that its shipped from closer...meh ill look at it anyways.

Lord Abortion 01-22-2006 12:50 PM

I think you can get them shipped FROM the US.

Ohh...Ill go see int he FAQS place...

Thanks.

Lord Abortion 01-22-2006 12:55 PM

One point with that site:

There will be occasions where it looks like there is nothing on the back of the shirt, I would look it up on E-Bay as a cross-reference, there are a few oddities with design.

Bartender 01-22-2006 12:56 PM
Explanation? I don't know my doom.
Drone and doom aren't the same thing, so Sunn (and friends) aren't playing doom.

They have an office in New York. The stuff is expensive considering its online...

ive been looking at the shipping grid for the UK site...cuz it wouldnt make sense for the shipping to be less expensive in the UK then CAN when its shipped form the US...

Thanks again though.

MA has those bands listed as drone/doom metal. I assumed they were very closely related.

Bartender 01-22-2006 01:26 PM

Well that's one thing that MA's just wrong about, then. If you're being lazy, then yeah, you can lump the two together; they're both built out of the same roots, and both really slow and really heavy. But really there's huge differences all over the place; explaining them in words would take quite a while, I think, but if you can listen to twenty minutes of fuzz from Sunn or Earth and say it sounds the same as a song like Candlemass - Solitude..you're insane.

Arucard 01-22-2006 01:33 PM

Barts right, drone and doom are quite different. As an example, Isole would be doom with quite alot more keyboard than usual, where-as Sunn would be drone.

Deconstruction 01-22-2006 01:48 PM

Anyone know what tunings Sunn use? Or Earth?

Tyler 01-22-2006 01:49 PM

Did Doctor Night ever tell us what he was having for dinner, or what?

PinkFreud 01-22-2006 01:54 PM

he said he thought it was pasta.

I'm not big on pasta.

I asked this in the Radiohead in A&I but it never got answered and I don't want to come off as an annoying prick so I'll ask here. Has anyone seen the Radiohead performance on Showtime a while back that was in Glastonbury or some big festival? And is it available online?

Shattered_Future 01-22-2006 02:21 PM
an the other approach is stoner, right?
Yea, there's doom, which is what 'Tender explained (actually, he explained drone doom), which is basically slow, depressing metal.

And then stoner metal is also slow, but more blues based, whereas doom is minor based.

Lord Abortion 01-22-2006 02:21 PM

I haven't, but would like to...I haven't seen a Radiohead live thing ever. What's the normal live staples they play?

Stoic 01-22-2006 02:27 PM

excellent! I think I pretty much understand all metal sub-genres. God, there was even a time when I couldnt tell the difference between death and black :p
