I claim them as mine because I spent minutes thinking them up. Yes? |
Radiohead - OK Computer
|
Yeah I dig. Does it take long to come up with them?
|
Easy enough! Plus I once came up with the trio of Modest Mouse On Mars Volta
|
Modest Mouse On Mars Volta Do Mar. Yay!
Heard a couple songs from the new Fiery Furnaces. Ok, I guess. I wish I wasn't so down on everything new I hear lately. I should probably just spend more time with the stuff. |
I desperately need some new music.

Check out Peter Gabriel. Then again, I say that to everyone. |
I got Lou Reed's Transformer last week. Just a fantastic album.

Wow, so Pearl Jam are back on form as far as I'm concerned. It's a bit inconsistent (Like any PJ album other than Vs.), but that first track is so orgasmic.

Get Scott Walker's - The Drift. |
Get Scott Walker's - The Drift.
Not to be confused with Scott Stapp. |
The Dismemberment Plan's Emergency And I sure is a good album! I'm listening to it twice in a row now and it's a lot of fun. Who would have thought that there would be two great bands named "Di_________ Plan?"
|
I need a new album or band/artist to obsess over. I never know what to listen to lately.

I've been listening to alot of hip hop almost constantly the past week or so. A few of the artists/groups I've been lovin':
Dead Prez Das EFX South Central Cartel Roots Manuva KRS One Big L Among others |
Yo La Tengo
MU330 |
The Roots
Dizzee Rascal Portishead Daft Punk |
I downloaded the Peeping Tom leak yesterday, so far it's pretty sweet. "Your Neighborhood Spaceman" especially. It reminds me so much of Mr. Bungle's "Retrovertigo".

The Drones. You would like them. If I can still keep up with what you dig. |

I must check this out |
Six Organs of Admittance - School of the Flower
I'm halfway through this album, and I'm still not sure what I think of it exactly. It is defintely not what I had expected. |
Idaho - Three Sheets to the Wind
Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance |
Mogwai - Happy Songs For Happy People
Mineral - The Power of Failing I f'ucking love mineral. |
Idaho rules. I didn't know anyone here liked them.
Yeah, I've had Hearts of Palm for a couple years, and only just recently purchased Three Sheets to the Wind. How would you compare their other albums to these? |
Oh okay, I'm thinking of looking into their debut just because it's supposed to be so different. Supposedly a record that's significantly more harsh, but still maintains his melancholic style. Seems like it could be pretty interesting.
|
Really cool list this week.
1 Bob Marley & The Wailers 28 1 Matisyahu 28 3 So Called 24 4 Devendra Banhart 18 5 Madvillain 15 6 The Beatles 11 6 Calexico 11 6 Shpongle 11 10 Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers 8 |
Heh, stoner.
|
Charles Mingus
|
Camera Obscura - Underachievers Please Try Harder (very Belle & Sebastian-esque, but I'm sure they're tired of hearing that. it's still good anyway. "I should be suspended from class, I don't know my elbow from my ***".)
The Stooges - Fun House Regurgitate - Hatefilled Vengeance (haha, this is rediculous. gurgle gurgle) The Notwist - Neon Golden |
I'm listening to the new Streets. Has anyone else heard it yet? It's up on myspace. On first listen it's nowhere near as good as the last two. Seems pretty good though.
|
yeah I've listened. It's got some gems.
|
