I always figured it was just Mille just changing his vocal style...

FatalEnergy 05-30-2006 07:02 PM
Nice album that. Not the most original stuff ever, but solid none the less. Awesome production job and Kam Lee's vocals are right up there with the best.

Although it's Remains, not Realms :p
Well that's what happens when you download crap from people. Idiots!

The guitar tone is most definately one of the best I've heard, very evil.

I can't stand Morbid Angel, but I saw this really old video of them from '87, which seemed pretty cool. So, I decided to look around at some of their earlier stuff, and I got their 1986 album that wasn't released until 1991. Very old school Death/Thrash. Much better than thier later stuff

Apocalyptic Raids 05-30-2006 07:07 PM

Ah, Abominations Of Desolation? I haven't checked that out yet. I am lazy.
I always figured it was just Mille just changing his vocal style...
tsk tsk someone hasn't been reading their Pleasure To Kill booklet

FatalEnergy 05-30-2006 07:17 PM
Ah, Abominations Of Desolation? I haven't checked that out yet. I am lazy.
Yeah, it's pretty great. The drummer at the time is singing on it. He actually sounds a bit like Mille. You should try to find it.

NP: Morbid Angel - Angel of Disease from '86

Bazarov 05-30-2006 08:11 PM

There's a killer video of Morbid Angel on youtube playing Chapel of Ghouls with their old drummer singing the song. It's pretty good aside from the quality.

FatalEnergy 05-30-2006 09:49 PM

Yeah, that's the video I saw. I wouldn't have ever thought it was Morbid Angel, because I actually thought it was good! I only like Altars of Madness, because it's old school. I personally think eveything else blows.

Bazarov 05-30-2006 09:51 PM

Blessed are the Sick, I thought was really good. I've heard other material, and own Covenant... I don't like it much. I actually should delete it, I listened to it once and didn't like it.

AA-12 05-30-2006 09:55 PM

They have some really bad material :-\

Apocalyptic Raids 05-30-2006 09:57 PM

I like the first two, and Covenant is alright.

Bazarov 05-30-2006 10:48 PM

Has anyone read the lyrics to Sauron's Poser Holocaust? Great lyrics. They need to release this new material... if they have, I need to get my hands on it.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-30-2006 10:51 PM

They haven't released it yet, though I think they have finished recording it.

FatalEnergy 05-31-2006 05:23 PM

Anyone here heard of Nocturnus? Old school Death/Thrash. It's like Atheist meets Coroner, with a bit of Possessed and keyboards at times. It's killer.

NP: Nocturnus - Standing In Blood

Apocalyptic Raids 05-31-2006 09:17 PM

I have been meaning to get The Key for a long time.

FatalEnergy 05-31-2006 09:51 PM

Yeah, The Key is great. Pretty damn evil stuff.

NP: Rush - Making Memories (My all time favorite song by them!)

Apocalyptic Raids 05-31-2006 09:52 PM

good to see an old reg posting here again.

FatalEnergy 05-31-2006 09:54 PM

Yeah, what happened to everyone? It seems like they all just died

Apocalyptic Raids 05-31-2006 09:55 PM

yeah. I think when the thread started to slow down a lot of people just stopped coming.

petrez84 06-01-2006 03:49 PM

I'm gonna make my first post in this thread, I'm a "thrash-boy" at heart, so I couldn't really neglect a thread like this. Behold, in my opinion, the greatest live thrash band anno 2005; Testament. Here are clips from their Live In London DVD. A MUST buy...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=eFlcN1n7W14&search=testament
A bit sloppy sound quality on them though, except for the first one...
I'm also a fan of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Coroner, Kreator and a few others.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-01-2006 07:54 PM

Nice.

FatalEnergy 06-01-2006 08:02 PM

Cool, cool. I have that DVD, it's great.

NP: Pantera - Takin' My Life (From the Glam days) This is probably the ultimate song to have sex to

Apocalyptic Raids 06-01-2006 09:04 PM

ya. I'm not a fan.

It reminds me of the booklet from Seasons.

Bazarov 06-01-2006 09:06 PM

I don't know I'm diggin' it but, really I just hope the music is good.

AA-12 06-01-2006 09:09 PM

Yeah, I love the cover.

FatalEnergy 06-01-2006 10:43 PM

The Cover isn't bad, but it's just the cover. It's the music I'm concerned about

DimebagDarrell 06-05-2006 05:25 AM

The cover looks good very seasons if you ask me i think its obvious they were going for that...also with lombardo back in and araya claming it could be their fastest album yet! its looking good

Anyone heard the snipet of Cult??? its typical slayer very well done..

Sorry i aint posted on here in ages ive been on a complete fates warning binge lol i dont think awaken the guardian and the spectre within have actually left my stereo for weeks now lol

Apocalyptic Raids 06-05-2006 05:34 AM

I've heard the 40 second sample. Sounds like something off Divine Intervention.

AA-12 06-05-2006 05:52 AM

/happy to be back in style

Gotta love THRASH! Favorite bands/releases are as follows:

Necropolis - Contemplating Slaughter
Forbidden - Forbidden Evil
Assorted Heap - Mindwaves
Deztroyer - Climate Change
Chainsaw - Smell the Saw
Depressive Age - Lying in Wait
Acid Storm - Biotronic Genesis
Hexenhaus - Dejavoodoo
Insane - Wait and Prey
Metal Storm - Outbreak of Evil
Pyracanda - Two Sides of a Coin
Soothsayer - Have a Good Time
Turbo - Last Warrior
Witchburner - Blasphemic Assault
Torr - kladivo na earodijnice
Egzekuthor - Czas Sumienia
Artillery - Terror Squad

Gotta say Thrash is my favorite, even though there is still lots of german/brazilian/CZE thrash that I have yet to hear :(

Pyracanda - Top Gun -- Two Sides Of A Coin [05:27m/192Kbps/44KHz] - 1990

Apocalyptic Raids 06-07-2006 07:33 PM

Artillery \m/

They are so underrated.

AA-12 06-07-2006 07:36 PM

Man, from that list i've only heard Artillery, Turbo, Metal Storm, Necropolis, and Chainsaw. :(

Aronax 06-07-2006 07:42 PM

Terror Squad is one of my favorite alltime albums, it has so many great riffs! I just need to find tabs/music notes so I can learn it myself ^_^
Man, from that list i've only heard Artillery, Turbo, Metal Storm, Necropolis, and Chainsaw. :(
You've never heard Forbidden?

Acid Storm - Galactic Holocaust -- Biotronic Genesis [06:43m/192Kbps/44KHz] - 1991

Me likes Brazilian thrash :)

I prefer By Inheritance, but Terror Squad rules.

You should check out Forbidden, Josh. Paul Bostaph ftw

AA-12 06-07-2006 07:50 PM

I really suck at metal, haha. I'll check them out though.
