If its the paris bootleg, i wouldnt make an opinion off that, the qaulity to me was piss poor.

EDIT - the qaulitys not too bad, but i still wouldnt make a full judgement of a live bootleg.
His lame one armed playing would dissapoint me more than having to wait a bit longer to see a decent show. He wouldn't be able to do fills and barely even play a straight beat. It would be boring as fuck.
yeh i agree.. who cares if you have to wait a few months

I was listening to Stay Together For The kids the other day and i was just thinking is really the right message. If a house is full of fighting and hate, its usually the better choice to seperate and not stay together. My parents are together personnaly but kids ino said there glad there parents dont live together cause it was hell.

yourstruly 10-11-2006 07:14 AM

Tom wrote the song. So maybe his parents could have worked things out if they tried?. Depends on the situation I guess.

Yeah well I bet they still see both of their parents. I haven't seen my dad since christmas and my mom and step-dad divorced this year.

All situations are different, and therefore the lyrics could mean a tons of different things depending on Tom's views/situation.

Well, in the video it starts out with, "50% of families split apart", and then at the end, "50% stay together". So, I think it's more of a song about when your parents do fight that it doesn't always mean the end of the family, but giving hope that they would survive. My take, maybe not everyone elses though.

MattuxXx 10-14-2006 02:09 PM

i think completely differently about stay together's message. to me, its a shout against domestic arguments alltogether. listen to the second verse. its blatant that they're calling for unity in the family.

i think this song, while probably viewed as a child's view, is actually a very mature, although utiopiam, view of marital interaction. "rather than fix their problems, they never solve them. it makes no sense at all. i see them everyday. we get along, so why cant they?" its obviously an innocent soul. but from the mouth of babes will come the truth (sorry to allude to the Bible on a punk forum). i think the narrator knows how jacked up everything is and is speaking out against it.

yourstruly 10-14-2006 05:29 PM

what the fuck?, " from the mouth of babies will come the truth". Do yourself a favour and stop reading the Bible.

Erm, he's entitled to an opinion... right?

And nothing is wrong with the bible, as long as you don't take it too seriously and impose your views on others. At least that's what I think.

And you can read the bible without being religious...

i dont mean to make a religious debate about this, but think about it logically. young people are devoid of heavy influence from propoganda and their own faulty logic. older people cannot feel natural things such as the Lord as well, because their senses are numbed by their own minds and overthinking things.

but if you dont understand things, dont criticise them. if you study theology and you delve deeply into the Bible, then you can come to the conclusion that its a foolish verse and THEN you can ridicule me.

but back on the subject of the song, i think its a prime example of what the Bible meant, even though if i remember correctly, the Bible was talking about prophecy. dont remember... anyways, the child who's speaking in the song is obviously morally right, and the parents are only following their own selfish desires. so then, who is carrying truth? the parents or the child (aka babe).

i dont read the Bible without being religious. im pretty religious. i wanna be a minister. just thoght i'd say, since it was brought up.

yourstruly 10-15-2006 02:38 AM

I'm not going to waste my time reading a book that was written 2000 years ago, written by someone who was probably on an acid trip, but whatever. Your theory on the Blink song sounds pretty logical.

10571z 10-15-2006 07:24 AM

Religion isn't a choice you make. Your parents make it for you into it most of the time...

Well good luck with that. I was never personally convinced by religion, but good for you finding something you want to do with yourself.

Anyway, blink182, AvA, Boxcar, +44. W/e, I always end up saying this to get back on topic.

How about we discuss mark's hair again? That went down well last time.

actually, most of the Bible was written long before the time of Christ. but thanks. i thought it sounded logical too.
Religion isn't a choice you make. Your parents make it for you into it most of the time...
well itd my choice. yes, my parents are christians, but ive searched for myself and found my religion. ive experimented reading the quran, ive tried atheism, and many more. and i came up always feeling the Lord along side me, waiting for me to return to Him.

so how about marks hair.

Who cares about religion, this is the Blink/AVA/Plus 44 thread.

Marks hair is pretty awesome, and original. Travis' hair is always awesome. Toms, well, hmmm he looks like a douchebag. Maybe if he didn't make it so straight, and Jackie O like, it would look alright.

Virus278 10-15-2006 09:11 PM

So any word on Tom's 8 and a half minute song?

yourstruly 10-15-2006 10:05 PM

No.

Mark's *cough* hair *cough cough*

I wonder if he shaves his armpits...

I thought only Tom was a nerd in Highschool. Cause didn't Tom get into punk when he met Mark, then started the band?

yourstruly 10-16-2006 05:16 AM

No, they were both into punk before they met. They're weren't really nerds, but I doubt they were popular. Actually Tom kinda was, since he was homecoming king or something like that.
