*ahem*
I haven't heard the new album yet, just the single that's been on the radio; "No Phone." It's pretty good, but then, I have all their albums...

moxshyfter 10-08-2004 12:58 PM

What kind of bass does their bassist play? I like his tone in the singles I have heard.

(If it's a P, I'm going to shoot myself.)

I really don't know, and my search just now didn't turn up much but this picture, which sorta looks like a P...

New Cake song? Wicked!

Anyone remember the cartoon, Pirates Of Dark Water?

Espbassor 10-08-2004 01:20 PM

@Mox: That sucks..

Whelp, I'm off to class, be back in about an hour.

Left Shoe 10-08-2004 01:20 PM

hey everybody im bizzack from school, i snuck off from school we had a pep really so me and a few friends walked away from it.

Saitoku 10-08-2004 01:21 PM

Victor Damiani, their old bassist, (and better, IMO) played a J-Bass.

I'm pretty sure that Gabe Nelson, the new bass player, (since 1997) plays a P-Bass.

Saitoku 10-08-2004 01:27 PM

The new album is pretty good, too.

Check out: Wheels, Take It All Away, Dime, Guitar Man, Waiting, End of the Movie (Probably the best track - this albums equivalent of Jolene, Frank Sinatra, You Turn the Screws, Commissioning a Symphony in C.) :thumb:

Radiobass81 10-08-2004 01:29 PM

Totally out of topic but...

Meh, I think I'm going to quit the whole fretless thing... As much as I love it and it's sound, I have no precision whatsoever, and my ear is of no use...

It's ok, just box it up and send it to me.

p.s. I know fretless things are a pain in the ass ...I was a TERRIBLE violinist for a VERY long time!

Saitoku 10-08-2004 01:38 PM

Well, maybe a better temp solution would be to get some marking tape.... I don't know where you would get it, but it's this thin tape you put on the fretboard to marl the notes. I used to have it on my cello when I was learning the note locations.

They are still on, although I only watch the fretboard on Teen Town...

Hey Radio, long time no see. What have you been up to?

moxshyfter 10-08-2004 01:59 PM

No creas en diablo? Es ateo?

Radiobass81 10-08-2004 02:01 PM

Not much, besides the already mentioned... I've been listening to a lot more spanish music now, and I bought both "Ultimo Concierto" CDS (Soda Stereo) :). And then there is the "session" thing...

And I hate rotosounds, but that's another story all together.

Anything new in your life?

nisakss 10-08-2004 02:06 PM
No creas en diablo? Es ateo?
 No, es de una canción de U2 "God Part II", fue la primera canción que aprendí a tocara en bajo.

"El último concierto" is awesome, I personally prefer the blue one, it's better than the red one. The session thing would be "Confort y música para volar"? That the best ever CD to be stoned!!!! ;) How about tLa ciudad de la FUria, the first song, the guiotar solo is really trippy.

Well the beginning was right on par, but the end was a bit hazy, mostly because my memory of the end is a bit hazy. But the beginning is really good :thumb:

better then I could do at least :p

nisakss 10-08-2004 02:42 PM

Hey Quatre, I thoght your version of teen town was pretty good. Are you using a fretless? Although it seemed as the effect was a nocth or two too strong.

i was using a fretted bass, and i thought that if i put the effect on exactly the same you wouldnt be able to hear me play it. so yeah i did turn the effect on a little higher than normal
