Well you didn't provide a counter-argument to clarify so I can only assume...

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:28 PM

change the "right to be treated" to doctors are evil and try to kill patients we need more malpractice suits while your at it

gmoneyguy 04-27-2008 03:28 PM

no i don't think that's right at all.

conservatives are the ones endorsing lawyers by giving them insane amounts of money and then on top of it cutting their taxes to continually encourage more lawyers to find more frivolous lawsuits in the pursuit of wealth.

pulseczar 04-27-2008 03:31 PM

the single fact that liberals tend to strive for equality and conservatives don't is enough for me, though there's a plethora of reasons

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:32 PM

im glad im a conservative

here, is this better: liberals try to make stupid ****ing programs that just make more ****ing issues

and for the record im a moderate, liberals and conservatives are both stupid as ****, is that better?

it's a slap in the face of all decent humanity to encourage people to be doctors based on money rather than a genuine result to help people.

good doctors would (and often do) work pro bono when needed.

no, not really. Thats not even true, let a lone you having any sort of reason backing that up.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:35 PM

yes all doctors go into the field based on income

and speaking of good doctors, you realize my brother in law was voted as the one of the top medical professionals in atlantic city this winter?

im well aware of how the medical field works and so forth, considering 3 of my siblings are doctors, my brother in law is a doctor, and my brother whos 2 years older than me is going to jefferson in two years

gmoneyguy 04-27-2008 03:37 PM
yes all doctors go into the field based on income
that explains all the doctors who go to africa to make jackshit, as well as the doctors who open up clinics aimed to provide affordable healthcare to low income earners.

Riva 04-27-2008 03:37 PM

Liberals tend to be Al Gorish when it comes to climate change, that's my only gripe with then. Otherwise, it's Viva La Liberalism!

True story: The Liberal Party in Australia is conservative.

EDIT: Mappy, as someone who's grandfather invented medicine, and who has 300 siblings who are doctors, and 5 fathers who were all doctors, plus over 33000 friends on Facebook who are doctors, I have to disagree with your belief that knowing a lot of people in a profession makes your trolling argument more watertight.

wow way to misread my statement or just strawman it, not sure which. I'm saying that healthcare should be available to all regardless of their ability to pay. And any decent human being would agree that letting someone die because they can't pay is terrible.

You're saying it's punishing doctors to socialize healthcare, which I assume to mean you think that they deserve to make loads of money. That's cool, but any doctor who refuses to treat patients unless they can fork over tons of money has no soul.

irrelevant, you're not him and you don't represent his point of view. Half of my friends' parents are doctors, this is silly.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:39 PM

yeah whatever why dont you just take my brothers wallet and give it to a homeless man itll balance society 400%

We've had those in Australia for a while now.

lol strawman is such a good debate method.

ask your family members if they would refuse to treat a dying man until he put his money on the table. I bet they wouldn't.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:41 PM

do really rely on logical fallacy this much to make a n argument? You know very well thats an absurd statement.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-27-2008 03:43 PM

do i though? or are you so blinded by your supposed 'social injustices' that youd like to play off a clear mockery as an absurdity rather than take to heart the true meaning behind it

what meaning? Its a ridiculous statement. One that does nothing but voice your inability to understand what the stance of the other side is.

Permanent Solution 04-27-2008 03:46 PM

Dude, it's not like doctors don't get pain under socialized healthcare. Right now taxpayers for those who can't afford healthcare because there are programs that exist to treat those who don't have it, and the hospital foots the bill. It's not like socializing healthcare would all of a sudden drop doctor wages. Even in socialized systems, there's always the opportunity to seek specialists beyond the scope covered by basic socialized healthcare.

That all said, I'm off to band so feel free to talk about drugs or whatever it is you kids are into these days. :)
