basically a foreign language to my ears but i need something like that to jam over.

BRA, digitech pedals in general have crap tone.
If you want to hear songs, go to my myspace. The thing that started the arguement was a clip of me dicking around doing some shredding; don't get all excited over it.
Here's the thing, alright? (Besides all the **** I can tell you as to why my **** on the net doesn't sound so good). **** that. My biggest thing is that I have done a complete 180 with my tone in the past couple of years, and have some people raving about it, yet everyone on here still has some **** to say about it, thus making me lose my faith in everyone's ears here.
Hey, how's this for a concept: both tones sucked. There are more than two tones out there. |
Cubase: an audio recording/editing program.
Ezdrummer: A drum instrument plugin. DKFH: the Drumkit from hell plugin for ezdrummer. |
I play black metal, dipshit.
@ masscows
That may be your intent, but that's not really what's coming out. It's black metal-ish, but it's not quite black metal. |
lol the last few pages

I like the built in distortion on my spider II better than the Boss MT-2 metal zone pedal i had. it sounded more organic.
Cubase: an audio recording/editing program.
Some would argue that Line 6's distortions are incredibly buzzsaw sounding as well, but I agree with you. Besides, the Boss Metal Zone sucks balls. My old guitar player used that before he switched to his Line 6 Uber Metal pedal (which is one of the two pedals I use). It sounded horrible. |
I thought compression was based on algorithms which converted the sequence of bits into mathematical equations which could then be solved through decompression to provide the original data. Thus different means of compression (mp3 vs m4a) gave different filesize based on how small the equation could be without losing the data.
I understand the effect bitrates have on music, of course, but I wouldn't think an mp3 would remove 90% of everything a musician records. |
You're confusing lossy with lossless data compression. Mp3 data compression (and it's relatives, .wma, mp4, etc.) are lossy. Once the information is removed, it cannot be replaced.
And it's not bit rate. Bit rate actually refers to the bit depth a recording was made at. (ex: CD quality is 16-bit, 44100Hz sample rate). You're thinking transfer rate (ex: 128 kbps). A standard mp3 ( 128 kbps is considered "standard") has an 11:1 compression ratio, meaning it actually takes away 90% of the frequencies in the information. The algorithm takes away any frequencies it deems unimportant with regard to the range of human hearing, as well as lower volume information. While that information may not be necessarily what we can explicitely percieve, those harmonics are what differentiates the timbre of a particular instrument. |
Lossy is the most ridiculous word I've ever heard, as a side note.
|
It's a valid term; get used to it.
|
Your mother's a valid term this is a stupid discussion.
I have verified with Elim that Nunslaughter is fucking amazing. They've released so much material and they're still so good. |
It's a valid term; get used to it.
Calm down, Jesus Christ. I know it's a real word, I just had an opinion on it.
Your mother's a valid term this is a stupid discussion. I'm listening to Altars Of Madness now, for the first time in a while. |
Nungslaughter are one of my favorite bands.
I HATE CHRISTIANS! |

I'm not too into that album. :/ And Mike, any Nunslaughter song is amazing in caps lol. MOTHER CUNT WHORE |
I'm giving it a re-listen after the big discussion on Morbid Angel a while ago.
|
Calm down, Jesus Christ. I know it's a real word, I just had an opinion on it.
.
I wasn't particularly excited. I was stating it matter-of-factly, as in "it's a valid term, but whatever". I didn't particularly care. |
Yeah, I kind of ignored the Morbid Angel discussion, I just don't like them.

No, you said ";get used to it." in your belligerent, holier than thou tone that pisses off almost everyone you argue with. I know a written medium loses a lot of the subtleties of speech, but maybe you should consider typing in a different style, or even using smilies more often. I reckon it would cut down quite a bit on the flaming you experience. Up to you though. |
My apologies, I should have said, "I guess you'll get used to it :p".
You do have a point....I do that a lot. |
Mappy, you are not tr00 enough if you dont like Morbid Angel :(
Seriously, I like them but I think they only have 2 good albums the rest is very mediocre. |
see: it's a valid term :)
|
You're such a nice boy.
|
Altars Of Madness is a good listen, but it isn't as great as I seem to remember it being.
|
I don't particularly care for MA anymore...don't know why...
|

i was thinking that as well.
Nungslaughter are one of my favorite bands. I HATE CHRISTIANS!
but nuns have so much fun... |
I'm tempted to check out Nunslaughter just because of the name.
Anyone have any links? |
Funny, thats the reason I wouldn't check them out.
Of course I thought that of Skeletonwitch and Watch Them Die before actually listening to them. I suppose I'll check out Nunslaughter too. |
