I'm just not one for British humor, in all honesty. I actually like very few comedy movies, and a select few shows (Seinfeld, Simpsons, and Frasier come to mind).

EDIT: You mentioned the Office, earlier, although I couldn't determine if it was in good or bad connotations. That's actually a good show
Ah, same. I prefer standup.

The UK one was brilliant, but from what i've heard, the US one sucks
Ah, same. I prefer standup.
123.

That is where the UK/US are level pegging

Kage 06-30-2005 02:09 PM

Me too.
The UK one was brilliant, but from what i've heard, the US one sucks
I'm pretty sure I've seen the UK one and not the US. I liked it, whatever the case.
I don't think it's slapping, but I wouldn't doubt it. Paul quit the band because he was farther ahead than the rest of them, am I right?
meh.... i wouldnt say that, but enjin do have some cool ass bass lines that are way different from tool :p

Artemician 06-30-2005 02:09 PM

There's a coversation about American vs. British comedy and nobody's mentioned Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

For shame....

Darkness 06-30-2005 02:10 PM
All I need to say is "Seinfeld."
Seinfeld is the greatest show ever. I watch 2 hours + a day. :thumb:

...Well I use to, but sometimes I'm usually doing something else when its on. I watch as much as possible though. :D

Its on its own level.

We demand.....a shrubbery!

Rothmans 06-30-2005 02:11 PM

I didnt like the holy grail I didnt see the side splitting comedy in it.

The life of brian was hilarious though.

Lateralias 06-30-2005 02:13 PM

I thought their shows (Monty Python's) were pretty funny. Arthur "Twosheds" Jackson!
Just very random and silly.

Artemician 06-30-2005 02:14 PM
I didnt like the holy grail I didnt see the side splitting comedy in it.
Blasphemy!

Just kidding. It didn't really stand out for me the first time I saw it either, it was the second viewing that got me.

Kage 06-30-2005 02:15 PM

See, Monty Python just doesn't do it for me.

Rothmans 06-30-2005 02:15 PM

Thank you.

Pfft, mainstream boy :p

Yeah, Life Of Brian is guranteed funny no matter what. Holy Grail takes some more work.

Nothing beats Meaning Of Life though (for me anyway)

Kage 06-30-2005 02:16 PM
Just very random and silly.
I can't stand this wave of "random" humor. "Man, that's so random!" and people think it's hilarious. I prefer something with a little more thought.

Lateralias 06-30-2005 02:17 PM
See, Monty Python just doesn't do it for me.
It's true though.. Monty Python is usually the first thought of comedy when people try to explain UK and US comedy. Monty Python and Blue Collar Comedy  . Blue Collar is definitely southern comedy... not really US comedy in general if you ask me, although it is getting quite popular here in the north.

But the whole random wave thing finnaly died out which is good it was annoying.
It still lurks with idiots though.

Yeah I get what you're saying.. sometimes it's really done poorly and is quite irritating. I hate when Mad TV tries to pull off the "random comedy" thing.

Blizzink 06-30-2005 02:21 PM

Stella has it's moments.

Like, two of 'em.

Mr.Poupon 06-30-2005 02:21 PM

Man did that show go down the ****ter. I'm still looking(waiting) for the earlier seasons with Sasso.

Artemician 06-30-2005 02:22 PM

My favorite form of 'random humor' would probably be the Chef Brian segments on the Ctrl-Alt-Del webcomic. Those are just hilarious, and beyond even conventional random.

Ironic you say that, enjoy the upload :)

As for albums, why not check out the wonderful reviews on sputnik done by a most competent member?

Young Team or Happy Songs For happy people would be a good start. Their first and latest albums. The ones in between all take some listening

clearvision 06-30-2005 02:37 PM

But wait, it says the reviews are done by you...

O shi'... :p

I'll check Young team out probably, cheers, I will also check your reviews :p

Adam Jones is GOD 06-30-2005 02:39 PM

Typically, Young Team is one I never got to review (along with my Father My King, which I cant find)

I'll get round to doing Ep+6 one day
