Seriously :-/ The thread constantly dies for long periods of time.

Studies show that 23% of college students drink at a high risk level on a regular basis.

As soon as I get my paycheck (which should be tonight) I'm gettin' me one of these shirts:

Kage 08-17-2007 09:43 PM

I'm not, actually. I don't drink often and I rarely go overboard.

Eliminator 08-17-2007 09:44 PM
Haha, nice. Irronicaly enough, the Big Lots here is quite small.
Lunch 08-17-2007 09:46 PM

you should have no problem passing this moderation class then it sounds like you're an expert

Kage 08-17-2007 09:47 PM

Right now they're trying to convince me that beer advertisements affect me and I should ignore them.

Shred Danson 08-17-2007 09:47 PM
lol no, Trev, that was the problem!

But yeah, I don't think about her much anymore, but today I did a bit, because it's a sad day.
lol wordplay

But yeah man, you're better off without the bitch. Even though I don't know her. All bitches suck.

well the point of beer advertisements is to affect people

Kage 08-17-2007 09:50 PM

If you can only feel comfortable and relaxed around your friends with alcohol, maybe it's time to re-evaluate those friendships.

Lunch 08-17-2007 09:50 PM

it also could be time to drink more idk

On a similar note, I just got out of seeing Superbad with some of my co-workers, and I'm not a bar guy, so it's like, "We're going to Auggies' [local bar]... oh, alright, see ya!" All I've done when I'm not at work is kind of drift off into space and think a lot. I think it's because I'm moving in a couple days and haven't done anything close that would resemble packing, and I get kind of sad about packing and unpacking and moving my life around. Plus, it was the last time I'd see some of my co-workers, so that makes things feel even worse, kinda.

But I would strongly recommend the movie... it was pretty funny.

Kage 08-17-2007 10:06 PM

I'm moving as well, I understand where you're coming from completely.

GenuineImitation 08-17-2007 10:11 PM

Im moving also. On friday I will be acquiring a new apartment with 5 of my friends. It may seem cramped, but this place is huge.

Kage 08-17-2007 10:12 PM

That's still a lot of ****ing people to have to live with.

GenuineImitation 08-17-2007 10:15 PM
That's still a lot of ****ing people to have to live with.
I was living with them last year in the dorm rooms. 4 guys in my suite and two next door so we were practically living together. It wont be much different except the place is nicer and the rooms are bigger. It could have been worse, I could have been in the dorm complex with communal showers where I need to bathe in a shower where some guy couldnt hold his liquor.

Eliminator 08-17-2007 10:16 PM

sausage fest

GenuineImitation 08-17-2007 10:19 PM
sausage fest
yeah, thanks for pointing that out :(

I need to get involved with clubs now because there wont be any college students living in these apartments (besides us) and that means we have to go out to find girls instead of them being next door/down the hall.

NemesisDivina 08-17-2007 11:08 PM

i know, aren't you glad? :D

Shattered_Future 08-17-2007 11:20 PM

Man, watching Superbad with my friend and his first girlfriend, the character played by George Michael (I don't know the actor's name) just reminded me SO MUCH of him. It was like if they read this kid's life story and scripted it into the movie.

But yes, the movie was extremely funny. I quite enjoyed it.

Ugh, freshman year flashback. Having to do that at least twice a week was a nightmare. It looked like a Salsarita's took a crap in there.

I know how you feel mate. I haven't really had any spare time, but when I do I just end up thinking about life and getting really depressed. So I've actually been striving to work and study more than usual, just to keep my mind occupied. And the night before I moved down here to Townsville (2 weeks ago today, in fact) I was riding the Superman's Escape of emotional rollercoasters.

But I guess that's just how life is. We don't like change, yet everyone gets change thrust upon them. And as for friends, I've not heard back from any of my mates down here that I've contacted. In fact, only some friends who live here that I've met through Uni, a school friend who is in my classes, and a girl who used to post here on MX have been in contact with me at all.

I'm also suprising myself by craving social contact, since I used to think I was an introvert who was happier socialising through the forums and MSN than in person. Not to say I'm not uneasy at parties or gatherings, I am always affable and friendly enough to make new friends easily enough, I just have rather strict comfort zones that I don't like breached. Those zones weren't ever breached on the night, but they're very likely to be breached when I'm out (overly drunk strangers/drug users/people looking to fight me or my mates for no reason).

But I guess everything will be better. I just have to work for it. And I've got some hardcore deliberating to do now. I don't feel like talking about it here on MX, but I do feel like half of me is going one way, half of me is going the other, and I'm being torn apart by myself, in some sort of masochistic trap of my own devising.

Eliminator 08-17-2007 11:56 PM

yeah life sucks

Shred Danson 08-18-2007 12:03 AM

C.O.A. 08-18-2007 02:25 AM

Calm down, it's not her fault she was following her company's policy towards people who can't get to movies on time. Look at it this way, she saved you missing part of the movie and still paying full price. Also, another thing to consider is that it is just a movie. So what if you have to wait until tomorrow? Learn to have some patience and not fly off at the rails whenever something doesn't go your way.

C.O.A. 08-18-2007 02:50 AM

no, see, i completely understand what you're saying there but the chick was being a bitch about it. i walked up and she had major attitude when i came up. she said they were closed, but her little mic thing was cutting out and i said what? then she got all bitchy and smart with me like i was a fucking child.

she was a bitch.

i have no problem waiting until tomorrow now. it's just the fact that i was basically waiting all day to see this movie and then i couldn't even buy a ticket. i'm over it now though.

Shadows 08-18-2007 03:25 AM

That's a stupid company policy. With National Amusements, customers can purchase their tickets and enjoy the show anytime during the runtime.

Riva 08-18-2007 04:02 AM

Why would you want to? Plus it's rude to the people already in the movie theatre.
