I've been listening to Severed Survival loads recently.

Btw, I had mentioned getting an Incantation album a while back. Well, I listened to it, and it started out pretty good, but the last few songs(last one especially), it just went downhill...
Which album? All the Incantation I've heard absolutely crushes.
Any fans of Crypt Of Kerberso around here?
yes

stoic, did you get my e-mail? It seemed like the formatting ****ed up and cut off some of the sentences for some reason.

AA-12 07-10-2007 06:44 AM

Crypt Of Kerberos is great but I never feel like listening to them.
dude the title track is king.
Indeed.

Incantation are great dark, evil sounding DM. My personal fave is the "Deliverance of Horrific Prophecies" 7". Sounds like it was recorded in a tomb.

That's my favourite too. I use it for my nickname on some places.

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 11:01 AM

The only Incantation I have is Onward to Golgotha. It's decent.

pate 07-10-2007 12:23 PM

Onward to Golgotha and Primordial Domination are great.

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 12:24 PM

The music on Onward to Golgotha is great, I just wish the production had been slightly better.

i am the robots 07-10-2007 12:25 PM

You're spoiled with production, babe.

pate 07-10-2007 12:26 PM

Agreed.

I care not about production. All that matters is the riffs and the songs.

Stevie 07-10-2007 12:27 PM

I saw Incantation live not knowing it was Incantation until afterwards, and they were boring and crap.

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 12:29 PM

Production matters to me when it muddies some of the riffs so you can't hear them defined clearly. It defeats the purpose of riffage to me.

And yes, being an audio engineering student will do that to you, Matt.

you can hear Incantation's riffs on Onward to Golgotha perfectly, some of the background leads are muffled by the muddiness but hey, if it keeps kiddies such as yourself away if must be a good thing.

i am the robots 07-10-2007 12:34 PM

Yeah dude, if must be a good thing.

Anyway, it definitely doesn't keep me away, I love the album, that's my only minor bitch about it.

Yes, I've just got it. It's readable, no need to worry! Seems like someone will be busy searching the internet for a while :D

Dargon 07-10-2007 01:40 PM

are you going to reply to it?

Stoic 07-10-2007 02:18 PM

I just did ;)

ninjamonkey 07-10-2007 02:24 PM

I haven't been here in a month. And I don't feel like catching up on the posts the way I used to.

Anyway, I saw Necrophagist last night. It was a great show, and the drummer did an awesome solo.

I took some videos and pictures. Here's one:

EDIT: Were a bunch of posts deleted from the thread? Or did we do one of those "new" threads again?

i am the robots 07-10-2007 02:26 PM

Don't like them, but being up that close is such an awesome feeling.

Getting pulled up on stage by Anthony Gunnells to do the first verse of Beneath Dying Skies is better though.

That drum solo was one of the highlights of the show when I saw them.

New thread started by a mod who's never even in R&M.

do you really like Gorement that much? I mean they're ok but I find them extremely boring compared to a hell of a lot of other similar oldschool/atmospheric bands.

ninjamonkey 07-10-2007 02:43 PM

Yeah, Gorement is one of my favorites. Weird, I never found them boring.

Which similar bands do you like more?

Dargon 07-10-2007 02:46 PM

look to rep

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 05:20 PM

What do you mean by atmospheric?

Like... real atmospheric, engaging music?

Or just shi‪ttily recorded albums in the verge of Like an Ever Flowing Stream?

i am the robots 07-10-2007 06:56 PM

Not much death metal is very atmospheric... Dark Tranquillity and Darkest Hour maybe, but that's melodic death, so oh noes, can't talk about that mall trash here!

FatalEnergy 07-10-2007 07:24 PM

Nocturnus is and isn't stupid melodeath.
Not much death metal is very atmospheric...
I'm not even an avid death metal listener and I can tell you that statement is complete nonsense...

pate 07-10-2007 07:28 PM

Nocturnus indeed. What a kickass band.

You can't be serious.

i am the robots 07-10-2007 07:34 PM

Okay, most of the death metal that people rant about fails in the atmosphere department.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 07:35 PM

He is being serios.

Tyler 07-10-2007 07:41 PM

I've heard so much about Nocturnus, especially one of their 7"s but I've never heard them.

There's too much ****ing music out there.

**** yeah, Undead Journey destroys.

Tojes and Eleventeen are trolling in case you are so ****ing stupid that you are compelled to reply to them with posts such as "you can't be serious."

Invicta_Veritas 07-10-2007 08:15 PM

Are you serious?

No shit, sherlock, I was fucking around too.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 08:16 PM

Excuse me?

I was being honest, Dargon. I don't have to be a stupid cunt all the time. My question there was honest, thank you.

i am the robots 07-10-2007 08:16 PM

I'm being completely serious. Too much death metal is shallow and completely focuses on brutality. There's good stuff out there, less now than there used to be in many cases, I know, but I don't really think you're looking in the right place with death metal if you want atmospheric music.

I'd say you'd have a better bet with screamo or black metal.

TojesDolan 07-10-2007 08:17 PM

Dargon is touchy in the vagina because he can't bear the idea that people actually discuss music instead of just talking sh‪it!
