Well, I sent an e-mail to it. Now we just need some more people.
|
Just to make this perfectly clear, you must email jambandmailinglist-subscribe@yahoogroups.com in order to signup. Then respond to the initial email. Signup, and it will send you the "welcome to the group" email.
Also, does anyone have So Many Roads? I lost the set a while back and I'm real pissed. I know it's a pain in the *** to send 5 files, and am more than willing to trade other box sets. ie. Dead Live at the Filmore (missing disc 2), a few live Phish albums, a few Dick's Picks, How the west was won (Zeppelin), Closing of Winterland, Allman Bros at the filmore. On another side note: Anyone in Chicago, Wailers and the Breakfast are playing friday at the House of Blues, should be a great show. |

Phil Lesh
Mike Gordon Trey The Duo July 3rd for me. I literally double taked when I saw they were coming to Hartford. I also got Dave and Mule the 29th of July and Allmans and Petty 12th of August. Pearl Jam and My Morning Jacket is coming this month...I'm gonna be flat broke at the end of summer. |
I'll probably be seeing Dickey Betts and the Great Southern 2 weeks from Friday. I'm assuming he puts on a good show, but has anyone seen him?
And The Breakfast are freaking awesome. A friend told me to check out some of their stuff on the archive and I'm very impressed. I hope they're coming to NY this summer. Did they used to be called the Psychedelic Breakfast? |

Yes they are awesome, and yes they were formerly the Psychedelic Breakfast. Other bands very similar to the Breakfast on Archive you should check out are RAQ, and the Greyspoke Variety show from 1-25-2006 On a side note, last I checked there's only two of us on this jamband mailing list. How one can say no to free music I don't know. |
I'll check them out. And I tried to get on the mailing list but wasn't really following the directions closely. But I'll get on it when I get the chance tomorrow.
|
New Greyspoke Variety recording on archive, and it is by far the cleanest audio -wise and very clean playing as well. It also features two songs that have never been posted before, and a third where the only recording was iffy. I HIGHLY suggest giving it a listen. Only thing is that when it was posted, duplicates were made of every track, I've done an error report, and it should be cleaned up soon, but you can still grab all the songs no problem.
If you have an archive.org ID, and you do give this show a listen, please review it, the guys love compliments, but they like constructive criticism as well. All it takes is to write one sentence, thanks guys, and happy listening. http://www.archive.org/details/gsv2006-04-13.sbd.flacf On a side note, if you want to subscribe to the jamband mailing list, all you have to do is email this address: jambandmailinglist-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Sunday of next week I'm going to be posting an Allman Brothers Instant Live from (I believe 7/24) their show at SPAC this summer. |
I might see the Allman Brothers Band and the Derek Trucks band sometime this summer. May also go to Gabbafest in Macon, Georgia.
When I saw moe. live, they weren't that good. One of their guitarists wasn't there, so Warren Haynes had to fill in. Still, on one of the songs, the groove turned into this massive machine. It ruled. |
The Allman Brothers and the Derek Trucks Band are coming here four days after I leave:(. If they were only here a week earlier...
I'm going to check out Greyspoke Variety since you've mentioned them so many times. |
I'm going to check out Greyspoke Variety since you've mentioned them so many times.
well... obviously I have a vested interest as they are my friends. The main reason I keep bringing them up is because people on this board (specifically Pegwedge) have expressed liking them and there tends to be a long gap in times between new shows going up on archive. Anyway, I'll be interested to hear what you think. Seems stupid to send the Allman Brothers show over the mailing list, as there is only one other person, so I'll post it here. Switch the hxxp's to http to make the link work. The Southpark hippy episode was on again... gotta say, it gets me everytime. Anyone know what band they actually use for the music, I know at one point Phish is clearly on stage, but I'm wondering who they use for the actual music. There was one song that was very straightforward rock-jam, one funk-jam, and a Hendrix-esque jam. Anyway, just thought it was interesting.

Yes it is possible to listen to any executor but to not understand that it sings, but happens on a turn
|
Why I have started to speak about it?
Because I listen as well as English and Russian music. There can be I any words do not understand but I very much to like one Russian group :)) I can even advise you them to listen Brothers Grimm look my site http://www.freewebtown.com/songmp3 |
Heh, thanks man.
I downloaded some Greyspoke Variety awhile ago and really liked it.
Glad to hear it, the one knock is typically that their vocals aren't great which has been true in past shows, but in their most recent show they were definitely solid. |
Tea Leaf Green is coming to Chicago this Saturday, and I'm considering going. I've heard good things but never heard their stuff. Can anyone suggest a good show off the archive?

3/11/05 Try the nugs show too, great quality |
I've become so obsessed with TLG that I've started to hang around there forum a little, and everyone on there said the Chicago show was pretty nuts, so I hope you enjoyed it if you went. The setlist looked quite awesome.
Anyways, best TLG shows: The 3/11 is the first show I got, is their most popular on the archive, and is the one that I give to my friends who are new to them. It's a great show. Definitely not my favorite, but a great way to start out. My personal favorites are 4/22/06 (amazing + I was there), 4/7/06 (Filmore West, 'nuff said, soundboard on nugs), 3/10/06 (1st TLG show I went too and my first real taste of them), and there late night High Sierra set which is just plain crazy. There shows seriously just keep getting better and better though, so grab one of their more recent shows. |
Do you know about http://www.freewebtown.com ???
as for freewebtown - it is free American web hosting website which is very easy to use.I think this company it setteled in Atlanta.I've been using their service for 2 years. There are many users all over the world.I publish their my photos and music file but there are lot of other things to do.I think this information will be enough I look like an advertisment agen now:)) By means of this site you can make own musical site and load there your favourite songs. For example look my site http://www.freewebtown.com/songmp3 and you will understand about what there is a speech |

As for the mailing list, I just hit finals week, but am done as of 7 CST today, so it's quite possible I get a show out tomorrow. I'm thinking Live Phish 18, as I just downloaded it, and it's magnificent. The other possibility is a CD I just downloaded which is a Regae tribute to the Dead, very intersting stuff. |

That'd be great, anything's appreciated. Basically I've been just trying to send out what I can, when I can in order to spur growth on the mailing list. |
Just started listening to Phish.
|
Can anyone suggest any goos Phish? I've heard some really good things about them, and feel I should check them out.
|
As far as studio Albums go, "Picture of Nectar," and "Billy Breathes" are great, (though most Phish fans will kill me for saying this, "Farmhouse" might even be a good one to try out, especially if you like the alternative music scene) As far a live stuff goes, you might consider "A Live One"
|
So it turns out New Monsoon has played in some guys backyard in my town (population just over 4,000) the past two summers, but that was before I got into jam bands. They can't make it this year, so the Hot Buttered Rum String Band is playing. It should be pretty cool.
|
Anyone seeing Phil Lesh & Friends this summer? I'm seeing them tonight with Trey, Mike, and the Duo and am so pumped.
Also, they are showing the new Phish Live In Brooklyn DVD in theaters on July 10th. Check out Phish.com to see if it's playing near you. |
I saw phil lesh play a bit with Mike Gordon, Trey Anastasio, and the Duo (benveneto russo?), at bonnaroo.
amazing. |
Cavern is a good song.

Particle's new DVD
Hey Guys... I just heard Particle is coming out with a new live DVD and CD next week featuring their 2 new guitarists/vocalists.... Joe Satriani, Robby Krieger, Blackalicious, and DJ Logic also make some guest appearances. It looks awesome. Their MySpace page is full of good stuff… www.myspace.com/particle
|
Greyspoke will be playing Friday night (7/28) at The Perfect Wife in Manchester, VT. And have and will continue to be playing at Nectar's throughout the summer.
|
I'll be seeing Ween on Monday. I don't know if they're conisdered a jam band or not, but they're been at Bonnaroo and a bunch of other festivals.
|
Big Meat!
I saw this band in CT and they rocked my socks off! At first I didn’t know what to expect. However, these guys have some real funky grooves!! I believe that they are now playing around the CT area. There are a couple of good shows of theirs on archive.org. I am currently loosing my mind listening to http://www.archive.org/details/BigM2005-11-19.shnf . The band is called “Big Meat” and their music is well worth a listen!
Peace |
