GraveRobbersINC 03-11-2004 07:34 PM

Ratmevilempire 03-11-2004 08:54 PM

Like Dargon said listen to Dark Angel- Darkness Descends, it might be helpful if you went back and read most of the previous posts, especially the ones at the begining(sp?) and get some more thrash, theres lots of bands mentioned in this thread.Ill leave it up to Dargon etc, to tell you if you're in though cuz im a newb here.

Corporal Compendia 03-11-2004 08:57 PM

Sepultura were thrash once upon a time.

I haven't seen many thrash bands myself...
Metallica, Slayer, Death Angel and a bunch of local ones as well.
Though I've seen plenty of Death Metal, Black Metal and Grindcore bands...

ThrashMaster27 03-11-2004 11:00 PM

ahhhh! good question that is....how many Thrash bands have you seen.

I've seen Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sepultura.....hmm, that's it for Thrash. Disappointing really.....Pantera and Motorhead I've seen also.... They can kinda be considered Thrash.
According to IRON MAIDEN's official web site, EMI Records will release a "Dance of Death" DVDA on March 22 with 5.1 surround sound specially mixed by producer Kevin Shirley and bassist Steve Harris. For the audio buffs, the DVDA portion contains the album in full crystal-clear hi-definition 24-bit/96-khz glory while fans who own DVD 5.1 home cinema set-ups will be able to enjoy the album in surround-sound in Dolby Digital or DTS. Listening to the album in this format takes it to a whole new experience level especially with tracks such as "Paschendale" taking on epic proportions. Also included on the DVDA as a bonus are two full-length videos of the singles "Wildest Dreams" and "Rainmaker", both directed by Howard Greenhalgh and which can also be viewed accompanied by full 5.1 audio.

Does anyone know what the hell the A stands for on DVDA? Well whatever it means it dont sound too bad
The A stands for Audio. DVD Audio can be bought from music stores. It's just basically normal CD's that can be put into 5.1 mode on your DVD player.

thanks, iwasnt sure what it was. to be honest that sounds like a bit of a con re-releasing it just for the fact you can put it into 5.1 mode in your dvd player

GraveRobber: Well we all gotta start somewhere! Check out my review for Darkness Descends too, I mentioned some other shredding chunks of thrash mayhem in it.

Colombian pop singer's SHAKIRA's previously unreleased cover of AC/DC's "Back in Black" will be included on her "Live and Off the Record" audio/visual documentation of last year's "Tour of the Mongoose". The set, due on March 30, will be packaged as a two-and-a-half-hour DVD with a ten-song bonus CD. blabbermouth.net

deftoned 03-14-2004 12:09 AM
Their thrash was really quite substandard, but when they were trying to do something a little different, i think they pulled it off. Not a great band, but by no means terrible.
Yeah, I've got the best of, got it for $8, it's all you really need from them..

deftoned 03-14-2004 12:10 AM

^^ haha **** yeah dude, Bec Cartwright.. wOOt!!

ThrashMaster27 03-14-2004 12:36 AM

HAHA! I didn't know Death Angels Drummer was 12 when they released The Ultra-Violence. You learn something new everyday.

deftoned 03-14-2004 03:42 AM

haha fück!! How old was the rest of the band?

JMetallica 03-14-2004 04:12 AM

Yeah, it is crazy.

Theres a band who's name escapes me at the moment, who has a 10, 11 or 12 year old vocalist. Trad Band from england. His vocals pretty much suck though.

JMetallica 03-14-2004 04:13 AM

rest of Death Angel was varied. They are all related, like cousins/brothers so their ages were all over the place. Although they were all older than 12! :p

deftoned 03-14-2004 04:21 AM

lol that's classic. Kyuss' drummer was 13 when they recorded Sky Valley, and he toured when they played at Metallica on a world tour.. when he was 15!!
