Nah, we picked a Friday in April. We're all booked up until then with lots more shows. |
Pulling out nostril hairs has to be one of the sharpest pains there is.
|
The show went amazingly last night. We packed the place and they asked us to play again. They literally told us to pick any date we want and we can have it.
We had that happen with a bar here. It's a pretty awesome feeling to rock the show and have the bookers pumped enough to just rebook you right then and there. |
That would be nice. Most venues here the booker is never even at the gigs.

Yeah, it's a great feeling. It's a tiny place, but we packed. There was absolutely no room to move. There was no stage, we just set up in the corner and everyone was smushed in around us. I had about one or two feet between myself and the crowd (including the room my pedalboard took up) and maybe one foot behind me in case I wanted to move a little bit. The funniest thing was watching people walking into the venue for the first time and being shocked when there was no where to go. People just walked in the surprise on their faces was priceless. The moment they walked in the door they instantly became part of this mass of bodies. |

I've desensitised myself to this. |
I find if they're on the side of the nostril that is nearer the point of the nose they don't hurt as much, but ones on the softer skin nearer the inside are really sensitive. Brings tears to my eyes.
|
they're the ones you can leave though. unless you have horrendously long nostril hair o_O
|
Slice It is a really fun phone game for anyone who enjoys shapes and lines.
|
Don't pluck your nose hairs - twist them. It's painless and they snap off near the root.
Alternatively, buy a nose-hair trimmer. I find that the feeling of a clean nose + netti pot is so rewarding. |
Your twisting method sounds worth a shot.

What's next? Discussions on how to trim unruly ear hairs?
|
I want lessons on how to make an unruly hippo submit with only the aid of a branch from a willow tree.

That's for next week's discussion. Today we have a symposium on "Armpit Shaving and its Effects on Pheremone Production."
I want lessons on how to make an unruly hippo submit with only the aid of a branch from a willow tree.
So you want to control a fat chick with only dick-slapping abilities? I presume this question is euphemistic. |
Flaccid dick-slapping abilities.
|
You've gotta do that rolling motion you see in the porn, man. Like tuck it over the top and then slam down like your man pipe is the very hammer of Thor.

Ears have hair? |
Do you ever lower your action just slightly every three or four months? I've been trying it, and I'm noticing that there's very little fret clicking; it's forcing me to play just a bit softer, but not unnaturally so. I definitely feel more fluid and controlled.
|
Nah, my action has been the same for years.

If it's not really low, you're missing out on some great ergonomics. |
I consider it pretty low, I don't think I could get it much lower without it going bad.
|
It took a few years, but we've finally found a great band that we're going to play many shows with. A couple of the people in the band used to be in this other band I was really into, introduced myself to them after one of their shows, then they broke up. Then one of the guys was at a show we played a few months ago and we reconnected and we've gotten all friendly and they're playing in this other band now. We played with them on Friday and it went incredibly well.
Old band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqY5WzcSM9w We actually covered that at the show, they loved it. New band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0VhJ7u3O3k |
I haven't changed my action since I got my bass. Doesn't bother me.
|
I used to fiddle with it but I got it back after a repair/set-up one time and the action was just smooth and beautiful, haven't fiddled with it since.
I like the look of this new Ibanez http://www.ibanez.com/BassGuitars/model-SR4505E, I've never had a maple fretboard though. |
A maple fretboard shouldn't be a concern. The tone difference is going to be minimal, and you shouldn't be spending all day staring at the fretboard when you're playing anyway. It looks better than rosewood IMO - go for it!
|
It's a prestige model so I'm afraid it'll be too overpriced for me by the time it's available here, but I'll look into it. Under $2G and I'll go it.
|
I'm thinking of getting an Ergo EUB. I had to return the rental upright the other day.
|
I'm conflicted at the moment whether I go for an Aguilar DB210 cab, an upright, an EUB, or that 5 string Ibanez.
Or more things if I'm honest, I also need new glasses and new spare glasses. Fuck we're all just SO COOL. Serious guys we're all mad dudes. :chug: |
Not gonna lie man, that Ibanez in four gave me a 3/4 chub.
so many stupid frivolous purchases I would make if I were rich! :\ - new cymbals - new snare - new basses - lots of pedals - some kind of floyd-rose sporting axe not to mention I would obviosuly have to buy a recording studio or something stupid awesome. brb buying lottery tixxxxx~~~` whoops ninja edit - it seems like Aguilar is the absolute pimp-cane amongst you gents. What is it that kicks their gear up a notch? |
I think aesthetically, Aguilar nail it every time. Their stuff oozes class. Never owned any Aguilar stuff except the Tonehammer though, so I couldn't really pass comment on the sound!
|
Aguilar stuff is fucking ace.
Excellent build quality, excellent tone, 100% reliable. I have the Aguilar AG500 head, it's the best sounding solid state amp I've heard. My mate has the DB750, I'm so fucking jealous. That thing is beyond amazing. I have the Aguilar TLC Compressor too, it's probably the best compressor you'll get in a stompbox. |
I think I just crafted the perfect System of a Down mix for my car.

lols Jean Baudin's fat.
Wtf? How am I just now seeing this? I was at NAMM that year and hung out on the bottom floor by Circle K strings for a while. |
Beats me, maybe you tuned out of banal tapping escapades on monstrous basses.

Compared to 90% of the other players at NAMM, this is definitely tasteful enough to warrant watching. I actually kind of like Baudin's solo tapping. Of the many solo bassists out there, his stuff is quite listenable. |

I remember that 'follow the line' flash game thing
