masscows 02-09-2008 11:57 AM

So Rotting Christ/Immolation/Belphegor/Averse Sefira brought the intense slayage last night through and through.

Charizard 02-09-2008 11:58 AM

brought the intense slavage because its all ******stuff

masscows 02-09-2008 12:03 PM

Ashes 02-09-2008 12:10 PM

Oh ****, I forgot RC and Immolation were playing here...I think I might have missed it.

Oh well, at least I get to go to the return of Vehemence show here in thier hometown on the 16th.

masscows 02-09-2008 12:11 PM

I doubt you missed it, they just started the tour this week and have only done east coast dates.

Don't miss it, seriously. It was an awesome show.

Ashes 02-09-2008 12:14 PM

All I remember is it was this month sometime.....I'll look into it later today...

NemesisDivina 02-09-2008 12:27 PM

The only band really worth going for (for me) would be Immolation and I've already seen them so I sincerely doubt I'll be going to that tour.

Charizard 02-09-2008 12:28 PM

cradle in the crater is a really good song

masscows 02-09-2008 12:47 PM

@bra the AZ dates are the 26th and 27th

Ashes 02-09-2008 01:22 PM

Yea that sounds about right...

AA-12 02-09-2008 01:25 PM

Seeing Immolation would be kickass. Hopefully RC would be last so I could leave :]

masscows 02-09-2008 01:27 PM

Immolation was the highlight of the night. It was my 2nd time seeing them too.

All 4 bands were grrrrreat though.

beans 02-09-2008 01:38 PM

i saw them quite a while ago, and they did a damn good job

Mr. Grill 02-09-2008 02:29 PM

Anyone going to see Nile in NYC on March 30th?

Ashes 02-09-2008 02:43 PM

I'm seeing Nile with He Who Binds Himself next month....

Txus 02-09-2008 03:20 PM

horrible gig.

Angmar 02-09-2008 03:29 PM

I might go see Possessed on the 29th

me>all of you

Tyler 02-09-2008 03:30 PM

nah

masscows 02-09-2008 03:30 PM

There's only one original member left in Possessed though. They're basically a cover band.

I would like to go back in time and see Possessed in the mid-80's though...

Angmar 02-09-2008 03:32 PM

Eh, really? That kinda sucks, oh well, it will still probably be a cool show.

Tyler 02-09-2008 03:32 PM

Seeing Possessed is just going to be you watching a bunch of 60 year olds playing to a crowd of your friends' parents.

Angmar 02-09-2008 03:34 PM

Yeah, I'm sure Tyler.

Rickabobaloey 02-09-2008 03:50 PM

Never been a huge death head but I've been listening to three CD's pretty heavily for a while now (works perfect for working out to).

Devourment Butcher of the Weak

Brain Drill Apocalyptic Feasting

And

Decrepit Birth Diminishing Between Worlds

Have to say pretty much all of them are absolutely excellent. Puts me right into the mood for lifting heavy.

Tyler 02-09-2008 03:53 PM

The first two are kind of awful.

masscows 02-09-2008 03:54 PM

Yeah Brain Drill especially. Devourment kind of sucks too but they were hugely important to death metal in their own right, although a great deal of the bands that came about directly because of them really suck too.

Speed_Racer 02-09-2008 03:55 PM

didnt know a bunch of dorks playing fast gets people lifting

beans 02-09-2008 03:56 PM

i listened to the brain drill cd the other day and i agree its not the best thing in the world but what makes it so bad?

masscows 02-09-2008 04:00 PM

it's ****ing stupid and pointless

Rickabobaloey 02-09-2008 04:03 PM

I enjoy them. Sound different than 90% of the music I've heard (from any genre).

I've borrowed two CDs from my friends I've still got to listen to.

Necrophagist Epitaph

And

Nile Ithyphallic

masscows 02-09-2008 04:06 PM

I see you're just getting into death metal. "Annihilation of the Wicked" and "In Their Darkened Shrines" are both way better than Ithyphallic which I find lackluster and repetitive. Necrophagist is a good starting point for tech. death (and death metal in general). Not the best by a longshot though.

beans 02-09-2008 04:06 PM
it's ****ing stupid and pointless
it is pointless...

and that necrophagist album is good
masscows advice is correct, AOTW is a much better album than Ithyphallic

Rickabobaloey 02-09-2008 04:11 PM

There's been a few death bands that I've gotten into before. For a long time it just didn't suit my interest.

It's been about a year since I've started listening to it more and more. Pretty much starting with Cephalic Carnage (I know, I know, a lot of people consider them more grind than death) and Behemoth.

I've got Annihilation of the Wicked. Great CD.

beans 02-09-2008 04:12 PM

i dont like CC
but behemoth is sick, good live too

Angmar 02-09-2008 04:13 PM

Listen to Death.

Speed_Racer 02-09-2008 04:14 PM

Listen to Death.

Txus 02-09-2008 04:15 PM

LIsten to Daath!

Rickabobaloey 02-09-2008 04:15 PM

I didn't care for Cephalic Carnage's new CD, but Anomalies was good, Lucid Interval amazing, and Exploiting Dysfunction great. I miss the random, completely ridiculous out there tangents they used to go out on. The last two CD's had more commercialized songs it seemed.

Rickabobaloey 02-09-2008 04:19 PM

Which Daath album? The Hinderers or Futility?
