Up on the Sun is great also.

poopie 01-22-2008 12:42 PM

maybe i should get that. i only have II. how is the sound different?

also i really like the song Backwater but i heard the album it's from isn't very good

Anxious 01-22-2008 12:44 PM

Its very different.

Its mostly fast paced, brilliant and complex instrumental psychedelia with catchy melodies.

Their albums after that pretty much suck.

poopie 01-22-2008 12:47 PM

oooooooooooo.. sounds great. i hope the production is good. it didn't really detract on II but more clear production always makes it just a bit better to me

Anxious 01-22-2008 12:50 PM

Its a lot better than on II. The bass is actually a main part of the songs on Up on the Sun and bites through everything. You could probably persuade someone whose never heard of them before that they used a drum machine because its almost metronome perfect.

YDload 01-22-2008 01:55 PM

Lake of Fire is just a bad song no matter what. It was bad when Meat Puppets first played it and it was bad when Nirvana covered it. I think Cobain picked it because the vocals were terrible enough to begin with that his would sound just fine.

We're Here is the best song. Ever.

Dies Irae 01-22-2008 02:08 PM

I agree with your post YD.

AlienEater 01-23-2008 09:48 AM

I didn't ever listen to that. I don't know why.

no wait it isn't the newest one is it

anyway I like Lake of Fire

Anxious 01-23-2008 10:25 AM

Their newest one came out this summer and its okay. Much better than their 90's stuff though.

okay 01-23-2008 02:15 PM

the Meat Puppets are just really really over rated

YDload 01-23-2008 02:36 PM

that's Cobain's fault i didnt pay no attention to what he thought

i checked it out for myself and we just happen to have the same opinion!

Both of those songs are good.

Lake of Fire is very different from the other songs on the album, but to me it's still a great song. I personally like the vocals on the song, and I also like Nirvana's version.

So maybe I just ****ing suck then.
Up on the Sun is great also.
My favorite, for definitely. It's so good that listening is practically a religious experience. For me, that is.
