Dread_rocker 08-24-2005 01:57 PM
Death on the Road will be the next in the series and is released on the 28th. Haven't heard anything about the intermediate ones though.
so is death on the road gonna be part 6 or something like that

ashman 08-24-2005 02:00 PM
so is death on the road gonna be part 6 or something like that
No one knows how many parts there are gonna be. I reckon they'll have one from Powerslave to NPFD and then one from FOTD to BNW... or something like that...

i just bought the enhanced cd instead...mmm..live tracks...and videos...wheeee :D

oh, and what is the 'fear of the dark' album like? i cant find any reviews, or copys of it anywhere..not even in my local virgin's insane store of Maiden albums. argh! i only ask because 'fear of the dark' rocked as a track

with enough fideling/case flipping you can get Powerslave and NPFD to carry on in the classic series

Dread_rocker 08-24-2005 02:07 PM

I guess they'll release the powerslave era DVD after touring from their next studio album.

crag 08-24-2005 02:17 PM

me reckons that the next era dvd thing will be from powerslave to fear ie. ending when bruce leaves. then the next dvd will cover up until dance of death. (hopefully by then they will have released more albums :)

Josh 08-24-2005 02:22 PM

is that this week's Kerrang you're talking about? there was an interview with Bruce last week, but i couldn't be bothered to buy the mag just for that.

i think the next DVD should do Powerslave ----> Fear of the Dark as well (and with a full World Slavery Tour show on it) , then you get a Blaze DVD and then a Reunion DVD.

crag 08-24-2005 02:24 PM

i don't think it should be from the world slavery tour seeing as theres live after death. perhaps somewhere on tour.

Josh 08-24-2005 02:27 PM

they should do a 6 disk set actually...1 disk for each album tour, then a history disk.

crag 08-24-2005 02:31 PM

that would be sweet

Josh 08-24-2005 02:33 PM

yeh...but the odds on them doing that are pretty slim...i would settle for a Somewhere on Tour show and a World Slavery tour show, and then a TV in my room to watch them on. mind you, i don't even have The Early Days yet, and i'm just getting Death on the Road album not DVD.

crag 08-24-2005 02:36 PM

am i right in saying that death on the road is released on 29th?

Dread_rocker 08-24-2005 02:40 PM

yup

Dread_rocker 08-24-2005 02:42 PM

the dvd is released on the 19th September

Josh 08-24-2005 02:42 PM

album released on 29th - 3 days after i see them at Leeds :D i can't wait! all travel arrangements now made - Ollie, if you read this i'm picking Joe up at 7, then going on down to the Bowes to pick you up.

I'm honestly not sure wether or not I'm looking forward to the DVD with Blazes era included. I really can't get into his singing no matter how much I've tried. It'ld be interesting to see the behind the scenes part on him, and possibley footage of Nicko pointing and laughing at Blaze during the Clansman which I've heard he was meant to do.

Dread_rocker 08-24-2005 02:48 PM

i'm completely gutted that i'm not going to Reading/Leeds! Have a great time all you lucky sods that are going!!!

crag 08-24-2005 02:49 PM

i'd love to see a Blaze era live show, the only live Blaze i've seen is where the guy spits on him, so i'd love to see him prove himself

i'm taking a disposable camera, i'll have the photos put on disk and then i'll upload them to my photobucket thing afterwards. i'm gonna have to risk being injured during Marilyn Manson's set and get to the front for maiden.

There is at least one live song with Blaze on it on Visions of the Beast. I think he managed Afraid to Shoot Strangers quite well.

It's a good album, it has a few weak tracks. But overall its a very underrated album.
It's a good album, it has a few weak tracks. But overall its a very underrated album.
i personally think its one of the weaker maiden albums

Josh 08-24-2005 02:58 PM

i really like Fear of the Dark, IMO the title track is a bit weak as a studio version though.

ashman 08-24-2005 02:59 PM

FOTD (song) is far superior live. But which version is best? Rock in Rio, A real live dead one or the other one?

crag 08-24-2005 03:01 PM

i like RiR, all maiden's songs are so much better with the trio :)

Josh 08-24-2005 03:01 PM

i only have FOTD as RiR one, although on Monday i should have the Death on the Road version :D

rhcp pman 08-24-2005 04:15 PM

I started playing bass using the strumming style of guitar. Then I learned to slap and pop. I only decided to try finger walking on the bass about a few days ago and prefer to use 2 fingers (for now). Since Maiden is my 2nd fav band, Steve Harris' basslines were the obvious ones for me to practise. What do you guys think the best Maiden bassline would be for getting into finger walking. So far, I've learnt some of Phantom of the Opera and I think I can play it up to speed, but it could do with more practice.

ashman 08-24-2005 04:47 PM

Try infinite dreams, it's IMO one of the hardest to play (The first half, the second half is easy)

the_uber_penguin 08-24-2005 05:06 PM

I thought Death On The Road (or as it shall henceforth be known...DotR...I know how much you guys like your acronyms) came out August 30th.

Rising 08-24-2005 05:12 PM

i just got ''Iron Maiden : Edward the great''
its a compilation

fear in the dark RIR
and can i play with madness \m/
all songs are good, but those are my personal favorites
