Fair enough

but 'a real live dead one' has serious sound problems, its like they just put an MP3 player out in the audiance with no proper mics and set it going...wait a minute

ashman 11-22-2005 05:12 PM
I think Bruce sings all Paul's songs better, even on a real live dead one which is bollocks recording quality
I don't know, I wouldn't say better, just different.

classicrockman 11-22-2005 05:13 PM

I've got an idea. I'm gonna make a little segment where you pick your favorite Maiden songs per album. Let's start with the landmark self-titled record. It was yet to be the "classic" Maiden lineup, but it showed great promises for the band. :thumb:

1. Phantom of the Opera
2. Transylvania
3. Running Free
4. Prowler
5. Charlotte the Harlot

Your favorites form the s/t...................:

YDload 11-22-2005 06:23 PM

Actually, your list is pretty similar to mine.

1. Phantom of the Opera
2. Prowler
3. Iron Maiden
4. Charlotte the Harlot
5. Running Free

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 06:34 PM

1. strange world
2. remember tomorrow
3. Iron Maiden
4. Prowler
5. Phantom of the opera

King_Of_Terrors 11-22-2005 07:33 PM

Maiden is one of my favorite bands, yet I have never came into this thread.

/slaps himself in his face :upset:

Anyway, I will act like I've been here awhile.

Prowler
Iron Maiden
Transylvania
Sanctuary
Strange World

classicrockman 11-22-2005 07:55 PM

Cool, cool. I noticed Lord Abortion put "Strange World" at No. 1. It' s one of the only songs where people would go as far as calling it a ballad. But still, a great track with powerful guitar playing.

Just a few more posts and then we can move onto 'Killers.'

Hey, no stereotyping here please.

I bloody love strange world. Such a dreamy song, you know?

-The Frank 11-23-2005 05:39 AM

^^ ha, i do believe a while back i got into a argument because someone said running free was a crap filler song. I argued saying there wasnt any fillers. Then i follishly said strange world was the closest thing that came to a filler. Now i really regret saying that.

Such a great song

ashman 11-23-2005 06:39 AM

Guess what I saw again today? Yes, that Iron Maiden van I saw before, this time camera phone was handy, I'll upload them later on when I can feel my hands.

Running Free is the weakest on the album IMO.

Strange World gets the 4 spot.

It's just a big van with loads of eddies on it, 'tis beautiful.

-The Frank 11-23-2005 07:08 AM

That is cool. I usually buy stuff off of other websites, like the bands official shop, or t-shirt websites like jsrdirect.com and stuff.

-The Frank 11-23-2005 07:28 AM

^^ I only use ebay for items like that

haha i like it , the chourse kind of reminds me of still lifes chourse.......i dont know

It really isnt that bad of a song. It just gets a lot of bad rap because its placed agaisnt timeless classics. If it was put on a different album im sure more people would like it...... imo

I think I would like it less on another album. I consider NOTB to be one of their weakest.

Invaders, The Prisoner, Gangland, Total Eclipse (Not on the original, but still) and Run To The Hills really don't do anything for me.

-The Frank 11-23-2005 07:48 AM

Im not too crazy about invaders or total eclipse either....still, i think you should give it another try. Gangland really isnt as bad as most people make it out to be

Deth 11-23-2005 07:54 AM

I've given it quite the chance already. Just doesn't do anything for me.

That's what happens when you let drummers write.

-The Frank 11-23-2005 07:57 AM

^ haha oh well, whatever floats your boat. Anyway im with you on the drummer part though.... So far every song a drummer has written for maiden has been a bit under par ( so was gangland, but still)

So should we go ahead with Killers? Or discuss how many compilations Maiden is releasing when they need to be recording new albums?

Lord Abortion 11-23-2005 08:04 AM

I love Invaders, the prisoner and total eclipse.
Bruce's voice on Invaders is magnificent.
