You're wrong in almost everything you just said, THAT's quite sad. |

Why yes, yes I do. Hence why his name appears on the writing credits, The Four Horsmen is slower and it has the whole breakdown section in the middle. St Anger is one example of Hetfields writing, but he has many, many more. Basing your opinion solely on one album makes you a moron. I imagine that Dave wouldn't want to avoid a court case, he was hurt by them and would want to fight them and also he doesn't have any problems going to court(see Dave Ellefson). Anyone else smell Megadeth fanboy? |

Anyone else smell Megadeth fanboy?
I do. I would have to say I personally like Megadeth better, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Metallica got me into metal, and I respect them very highly for that. They wrote a lot of good stuff. |
Cliff was the best bass man no one can ever replace it in my heart.
I'm sorry, but this is just not true. Cliff Burton is good, yes, but definetly not the best. You probably need to listen to more music before you go and say that he is the best, because he definetly isnt. Just because he made "Pulling Teeth", which is a kick *** bass solo, doesnt mean that all other bassists cannot compare to him. Listen to Victor Wooten, Ryknow, Les Claypool, and Flea. They can give Cliff a run for his money. :thumb: |

What has their live show got to do with anything? And you're going to believe random sources from where? Give me sources and I'll happily stand corrected. |

And you're going to believe random sources from where? And he is one hell of a bull shitter.
really well say hi to dave for me b/c it seems you know him b/c your calling him a bull****ter. guess what ive met dave mustaine and i asked him about the metallica songs that sound the same and he used to have it written on the site but the retards of metallica whined and got their way just like the napster thing, everytime you dl a song that takes money away from lars ulrich getting a solid gold toilet and matchin shower. :thumb: |
I was going to say Bonzo but Portnoy blows Lars out of the water anyday as well and your in denial if you can't see that.
Sorry its just that everyone says Portnoy... Hes so painfully over-rated. Lars could play alot of Bonzo stuff (including Moby Dick), but I agree his writing is usually very simplistic. |
 you really think hettfeild had anything to do with the writing of the four horsemen
Yes, I do, otherwise his name wouldn't appear on the writing credits, would it?
an example of hettfeilds writing is St. Anger. its pretty sad when your drummer is your main song writer, he doesn't write for a day and St. Anger is what comes out.
One of many songs that Hetfield wrote. He wrote Enter Sandman, the song that brought Metallica to commercial sucess, he wrote One; he, Cliff, Kirk, and Lars wrote Fade to Black...he wrote The God That Failed, about his mother being a Christian Scientist and not believing in doctors and believing that God will heal you..
and metallica sued dave mustaine for the writes to his songs and he finally just let them have the songs to avoid a court case. look up your facts metallica is a bunch of scumbags. :thumb:
Umm, no, dick...Mustaine wrote the songs. Why would he want to avoid a court case? In any case, they took the riffs Mustaine wrote, slowed them down, re-wrote the lyrics, added an interlude, and retitled it The Four Horsemen. Mustaine released his original as the Mechanix.
you guys do know that most of metallicas best songs were actually written and thought up by dave mustaine of megadeth right.
Wrong, right there. The Unforgiven and Fade to Black were NOT written by Dave Mustaine.
if you dont believe me just listen to The four Horsemen and then listen to Megadeth - Mecanix. dave mustaine originally wrote that but metallica stole it so mustaine had to rewrite the words and intro but most of it is note for note (megadeths is faster and much much better though)
Umm, no. Mustaine wrote that WHILE he was in the band. After they kicked him out, Hetfield and Ulrich re-wrote the lyrics, slowed it down, and added the interlude and solo that's in Four Horsemen. Mustaine, meanwhile, kept the original and released it on his debut album in 1985, "Killing is My Business...And Business Is Good!" Hey, douche, get YOUR facts straight. |
Wow thanks for clearing all that up lol, rep+

I think the unnamed feeling is like, the best song ive ever heard, its mint. anyone agree?
|
people don`t seem to know much about metallica
And the unforgiven is terrible i feel
I like the unforgiven...
I think the unnamed feeling is like, the best song ive ever heard, its mint. anyone agree?
I like the unnamed feeling a lot, probably the best song off of St. Anger, but it's not the best song I've ever heard. |
people don`t seem to know much about metallica
And the unforgiven is terrible i feel
Unforgiven isn't anything special... I agree... |
I don't think the Unforgiven is their best song, but it's still a pretty **** good song.
|
The black album is good, but I think it's pretty overrated, with enter sandman and nothing else matters being on it and all. Yeah, and the 1st 4 albums are pretty sweet.
|
On a side note: I might be the only one, but recently I've been listenning to alot of St. Anger, and it's pretty good, I dunno the song, but something about "Shoot me again I ain't dead yet!" :p
Edit: When I listen to an album, I don't look at the names of songs, I just put it on from the start and listen to the whole thing, eventually I will get the names... |
people don`t seem to know much about metallica
Yeah dream theater fan boys are extremely annoying cause there are millions of them on these forums.
OMG john petrucci is amazing yay!!!john myung i love u!!
There is far more Metallica fanboys... I like both bands, so don't get pissed at me for this. |
I guess Im a fanboy...
By fanboy I don't mean someone who likes the music of that band/artist. I mean someone who refuses to see the faults of the band, say anything even slighty negative about them, or see differing opinions. For example: Person: "Metallica rules, but I don't see Lars as much of a drummer. Fanboy: "OMG!! Lars is the best drummer ever, I'd like you to show me someone better!!" |
 you really think hettfeild had anything to do with the writing of the four horsemen  an example of hettfeilds writing is St. Anger. its pretty sad when your drummer is your main song writer, he doesn't write for a day and St. Anger is what comes out. and metallica sued dave mustaine for the writes to his songs and he finally just let them have the songs to avoid a court case. look up your facts metallica is a bunch of scumbags. :thumb:
ok you know what? I'm really tired. I see you were already shoved out and thank god you were. None of your facts are right, at all. I'm just doing this post to be another one in this thread that knows you are a complete dumbass :thumb: rep - |
Yeah dream theater fan boys are extremely annoying cause there are millions of them on these forums.
OMG john petrucci is amazing yay!!!john myung i love u!!
i hate to admit it, but Metallica has a ton of them too... but the Tool ones just piss me off. Now if Tool was a good band, I would understand it. But i don't like them period. |
Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't a good band.
|
Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't a good band.
123 I too don't like Tool's music, but I know that they are very good musicians. |

It's sad that so many people find that concept so hard to grasp. |
123
I too don't like Tool's music, but I know that they are very good musicians.
Yeah that's the same for me for lots of "oldie" bands, (The rolling stones, for example), I don't enjoy their music that much, but I respect them for what they have done for music, and because they are talented musicians. |
It's sad that so many people find that concept so hard to grasp.
