Oh, well that's good.
They do. They have ads by Google (like we have here, below the toolbar on a page) though, rather than popups.

Illmatic 06-05-2005 05:28 AM

I don't like the stuff that might be actual emo that I've heard.

Is that all right?

superpeer 06-05-2005 06:16 AM

That's ok, as long as you don't start calling Taking Back Sunday emo.

Yes, it's perfectly all right. One of my friends tried to get me into emo music and I couldn't stand it either.

Arucard 06-05-2005 10:23 AM

CTTS are screamo, Taking Back Sunday are 'popcore' according the Hardcore/Emo forums.

New Sevenfold album tommorow, Joe's fanboism continues. Also 7 GCSE's this week :/

Dancin' Man 06-05-2005 10:46 AM

I am not digging A7X. They are really hit or miss based on what I've heard (waking the fallen and some songs off the new one). EIther the riffs are great or they're bad and lame and the singer should stick with singing and growling. His hardcore grunt is awful to my ears.

Oh great, another "core" genre. Too many genres these days.

New album is so much better ++. WTF is good for a few months, but i can only listen to 'Second Heartbeat' now without getting bored. You should listen to 'Burn it Down.'

Also, look at the thread in Hardcore/Emo. 'Show review thread.'

Emphasis on 'Show.'

i am the robots 06-05-2005 10:51 AM

Joe, I strongly disagree with you. The new album is good, but WTF is far better. Everything on WTF flows together perfectly, and the screaming is just amazing, not to mention the clean singing is better. And to say WTF is only good for a few months is retarded, I've had the album for 2 years, and it's still one of my favorites.

Lord Abortion 06-05-2005 10:52 AM

'tender is quite right, dasboard confessional are pop-punk not emo
I think....

I actually don't mind them as much as similar bands

I also quite like 7x- they seem to be quite a traditional metal band in alot of respects like priest or maiden...

Thor 06-05-2005 10:53 AM

Sorry, I feel stupid. Who is A7X?

Dancin' Man 06-05-2005 11:02 AM

Avenged Sevenfold

Thor 06-05-2005 11:12 AM

Ohhhhh...I get it. I feel like an idiot now.

Yeah, you can dislike it all you like. Just so long as your disliking the right stuff.

Once again, you seem to have missed the fact that that is my opinion. Listen to it again, the riffs are boring, they use the same progression every time they do a melodic riff (tone, semi-tone, tone) and the drumming and bass are both very much drummed down (no pun intended). I find the screams are alot weaker than on STST, and i am very happy with the new direction. I can no longer listen to WTF without getting very bored, very fast.

am I correct in thinking play.com has free p+p?

Bartender 06-05-2005 12:11 PM

Yep, totally morning.
Oh great, another "core" genre. Too many genres these days.
It's just something they made up (and they acknowledge they made it up) to shove bands like TBS into, since people who go there insisting that they're emo won't accept that they're pop-punk because they scream occasionally.

So do you think next weeks Doctor Who is going to be terrible or brilliant?

Terrible=Big Brother and The Weakest Link

It looks awesome, but once again, I wish they hadn't actually shown us the daleks. I wish, so very much, that they'd left it at the point when Captain Jack said something like "But that can't be. All their ships were destroyed, I saw it".

And I'm actually really quite looking forward to the Big Brother/Weakest Link bits; so long as they're not the actual shows, I don't care.

Arucard 06-05-2005 12:19 PM

Just the well known fact that alot (dont want to stereotype to much) Hardcore/Metalcore kids dont go to gigs for music, they go to show off how scene they are.

Hehe yeah, the Big Brother bit didn't look too bad to be honest when eviction=death

Illmatic 06-05-2005 12:27 PM

Yeah, England isn't really that much better at churning out TV shows than America is---maybe even worse.

Then again, I think Big Brother IS American-made, so meh.

Also, I finally did fall asleep. At 7:25.

It's also like, 85/86 degrees

The American Big Brother is, but the first Big Brother (as it is today) was made by Channel Four here in England. And the idea it was developed from was stolen from Dutch television, I think.

Afternoon, guys.

I went to a party last night that was about 5 houses from the house I grew up on. That was really bizarre.

I also got my friends to listen to some Zappa, and they actually dug it. Maybe it was the mass quantities of blunts, but they did say they liked the music.

NP: Bjork

EDIT: I've got a Big Brother story :)
