Wow, that sucks. Whatever though, I didn't expect them to release anything else.

Still depressing though. :(

Nostalgia 01-08-2009 08:18 PM

dude we wanked to watching from a distance. together

Jondur 01-09-2009 03:25 AM

Whoah, that's a surprise. I was only talking to Chris (drums) the other day and things were going well.

Although to be honest they were always a fairly fragile band with fairly high emotions (last time they broke up Stu (old drummer) was telling me that if they saw each other in the street they'd cross the road to avoid seeing each other).

Anyway massive shame, easily the best doom band around at the moment, and by far the nicest guys in the scene (and I've met a lot).

Nostalgia 01-09-2009 03:32 AM

Didn't know you knew them. I've always wondered is the lyrics came from Pat Walker's personal experience, or they were just... you know, lyrics with no personal meaning.

Do you know anything about this?

Jondur 01-09-2009 04:37 AM

Yeah I've known them for a fair while. And you know what I've never asked and I don't think I'd feel comfortable asking. He's quite a private guy and I think it'd be too much like prying.

Anyway Warning is dead, long live Pat's new band (with Chris on drums), apparently it'll be a continuation of Warning's sound.

Shrinebuilder expected to release in Summer '09.

pate 01-09-2009 11:32 AM

In the past, I'd always be bored with Warning after about 3 minutes. But now I'm quite enjoying them.

Angmar 01-09-2009 11:32 AM

Mother****ing Bobby Liebling.

pate 01-09-2009 12:30 PM

What you're his new dealer?

ATM 01-09-2009 12:36 PM

He warned me about his haters on the internet :P

Nah, I'm going to do an interview with him and we talked about how we were going to set it up. He said that he is healthy, happy, and ready for the two shows.

:D

Doom Metal Thread

G'day forum.

My name is Josh, I'm new. Whilst I also love most types of metal and have been into it and playing it for 25 years, I notice that while several genre's are represented on here the site that Doom metal, my favourite flavour is not.

So are there any doom fans here on here?

Personally my favourite flavours of doom at the traditional variety as opposed to the more .dISEMBOWELLMENT, My Dying Bride, Evoken, Paradise Lost style of death doom. Black Sabbath is the no brainer, but St Vitus, The Obsessed, Witchfinder General, Cathedral, Electric Wizard, Reverend Bizarre, the very recently departed Warning, Goatsnake, Solstice, Burning Witch and many more among my favourites.

My favourite doom albums of 2008 were Itallian lords Ufomammut great album "Idolum". A new US band from a more sludgey flavour called Cough and their album "Sigilum Luciferi", Gates of Slumber's "Conqueror", Coffins "Burried Death" and Grand Magus' "Iron Will".

imperialblackness 01-11-2009 11:00 PM

Idolum is a great album.

And yes there are fans of most of these bands on this site
