I love the Assassin, it's one of the only saving graces to that album.

That and the magnificent Tailgunner

crag 11-21-2005 10:10 AM

the Assasin is meh for Maiden standards but against any other band it is exquisite

blackthorne 11-21-2005 12:43 PM

Deth 11-21-2005 12:45 PM

heh, technically Hallowed is the greatest metal song ever, as when we did the top 100 last year, it came 2nd by 1 vote ( ) to Led Zep's Stairway to heaven, which is rock :p

NP: 2 Minutes to Midnight.

i don't like it much either, nor the whole album.

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 10:17 AM

The whole album is an bit grey and dreary for me.

blackthorne 11-22-2005 10:33 AM

is this NPFTD if so i have to agree its kinda boring compared too there other work but good when compared to anything else

crag 11-22-2005 10:36 AM
is this NPFTD if so i have to agree its kinda boring compared too there other work but good when compared to anything else
that would be correct.

ashman 11-22-2005 11:08 AM

I love that album, if frail were here, he'd be defending it with me...

Josh 11-22-2005 11:53 AM

NPFD is ok, i prefer FOTD though.
Ash, i'd better make your list in the top 50R&Mers, you're no. 2 on my list :p

Arcarsenal Ghost 11-22-2005 12:19 PM

Damn, this thread is still here.
Cool.

Luminarious 11-22-2005 12:20 PM

My fave Iron Maiden Tracks are:

Fate's Warning
Can I Play With Madness
The Number Of The Beast
Holy Smoke

But I like all of them really.

By the way No Prayer For The Dying was cool....
At least, I think so anyway!

pep 11-22-2005 12:39 PM

I was looking at the ozzy osbourne Tribute album, and it said that Bruce dickinson was the producer or something like that. was it the maiden bruce dickinson?

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 12:45 PM

Gah, NPFTD and FOTD are my least favourite Maiden Albums, far too few Stormers to the inch.

blackthorne 11-22-2005 12:51 PM
I was looking at the ozzy osbourne Tribute album, and it said that Bruce dickinson was the producer or something like that. was it the maiden bruce dickinson?
You need your head checked mate, how can you not like FOTD and considering you were saying to me the other day that killers is a good album? sure its fine if you want something to blow out your brains due to vocal talen but...

Josh 11-22-2005 01:12 PM
Damn, this thread is still here.
Cool.
wow, the threadstarter returns...or has he just popped in for one post?

anyway, Killers is a good album but personally i like FOTD more.

Lord Abortion 11-22-2005 01:14 PM

Killers is great, the songs on there are superb.

But the Bruce versions (especially live at Leeds this year) are better...

i thought Bruce did really well on the killers songs (off the top of my head - Wrathchild, Another Life, Murders...., Drifter, can't remember which other ones were on the setlist offhand)

shadow_stalker 11-22-2005 01:24 PM

I think Bruce sings all Paul's songs better, even on a real live dead one which is bollocks recording quality

Josh 11-22-2005 01:40 PM
I was looking at the ozzy osbourne Tribute album, and it said that Bruce dickinson was the producer or something like that. was it the maiden bruce dickinson?
on The Essential Ozzy, there's a producer called Bruce Dickinson, but i think it might be a different one.
I think Bruce sings all Paul's songs better, even on a real live dead one which is bollocks recording quality
i don't have that album, so i can't comment :p

crag 11-22-2005 01:41 PM

Bruce's version of Prowler that i heard was pretty poor
Gah, NPFTD and FOTD are my least favourite Maiden Albums, far too few Stormers to the inch.
they're my two least favourite albums too.

Josh 11-22-2005 01:43 PM
