Pretty assholish words for the former "mx anti-metalhead!"
Wait. Is this directed at Br3ad or myself? |
Pretty assholish words for the former "mx anti-metalhead!"
I don't get it. Pixies doesn't normally like metal, now he's listening Cynic. That's all my post was supposed to mean... |
I thought he DID like a good deal of metal, even if it was in the vein of hardcore-influenced stuff that's a little hard to define unless you listen to as much of it as he does and can distinguish among the bands.

Metal is good.
|
Ah, well, sorry. My bad. Didn't mean to be rude.
|
Don't take that Andy. It's only the interweb.
|
Metal sucks, man.
This stuff is good: Kanye West - The College Dropout The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy and the Lash The Beatles - Help! |
College Dropout > Late Registration
I've been diggin' that too, aswell as some Viktor Vaughan. |
Ah, well, sorry. My bad. Didn't mean to be rude.
It wasn't being rude. I have expressed a distaste for metal in the past. And most of it sucks. |
Quasi - The Sword of God
Good, good stuff here. |
You promote something in two threads at once, I check it out.
|
EiTS - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
And a ton of hip hop. |
I'm digging a quick playlist I threw together for a Mix CD contest...
Topic - "Blanket Reality: Music when staying in bed is the best option" 1. Red House Painters - "Grace Cathedral Park" 2. Nick Drake - "Hanging on a Star" 3. Vinny Miller - "Bagged and Tagged" 4. Aimee Mann - "Wise Up" 5. Low - "Over the Ocean" 6. Smog - "Rock Bottom Riser" 7. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - "(Are You) The One I've Been Waiting For?" 8. Bruce Springsteen - "Atlantic City" 9. REM - "Perfect Circle" 10. Sun Kil Moon - "Carry Me Ohio" It's nothing too special, but I think it flows well and it's at least suitable for the theme. Plus I love starting and ending with Kozelek. |
Quasi! Quasi! I dig them!

Spaceboy - Searching the Stone Library for the Green Page of Illusion Too extremely heavy, talented, experimental groups. Two great albums.
This post interested me enough to look up a Spaceboy review... and the review interested me even more... So now I'm a few minutes into diggin' this album, and I have you to thank for that. It's pretty neat so far. I've also been diggin' on these chaps in the recent past: Calexico - Garden Ruin The Robot Ate Me - Carousel Waltz Isis - Celestial HORSE the band - The Mechanical Hand mmmmmmmm. |
HORSE the band - The Mechanical Hand
Wait, are HORSE The Band and Band Of Horses two different bands? |
Wait, are HORSE The Band and Band Of Horses two different bands?
Indeed. HORSE the band play what some have dubbed "Nintendocore"... I'm not exactly familiar with Band of Horses, but I gather that they're some sort of indie-ish group or something. I dunno, I haven't payed enough attention to their hype to remember... But yes, different indeed. |
Flaming Lips.
I'm dressed like Wayne right now (beard, suit, fake blood and all) right now. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee3rhrgrgu |
AFI - Sing the Sorrow
plus some random songs on rage, now it's The Streets - "When You Wasn't Famous" RAD |
Quasi! Quasi! I dig them!
:-D Today I was mainly jammin' to MF Doom - Mmm Food |
spice girls

New Artist, Very Mellow fingerstyle guitar
Beautiful Guitar on this one Guys.
Mentions something about 'Japanese Scales' on his My Space.....Dunno about that but it's well worth a free download on My Space and you can contribute to the artist at his web page by buying downloads online. Terence Rowlands http://www.terencerowlands.com http://www.myspace.com/terencerowlands Hope you like him |
Prince - The Symbol Album
Wolf Eyes - Burned Mind (Well...not really digging it. I dunno.) Xiu Xiu - Knife Play |
I'm not exactly familiar with Band of Horses, but I gather that they're some sort of indie-ish group or something.
They rock. I've been into them since I saw them open for Iron & Wine a year or so ago. I bought the new LP the day it came out, and was not the least bit disappointed. Nothing life-changing, but definitely enjoyable. It's basically indie rock, but it's much more interesting than just that. There's like banjos and alt-countryness and stuff. |
They are good, but they don't have much replay value, in my opinion.
I've been diggin' the new Eagles of Death Metal. |
Stephen Malkmus- Face the Truth
Belle and Sebastian- Push bar man to open old wounds Shinobu- Herostratus vs. time (really good unknown band on Asian Man Records) |
Lilys - Everything Wrong Is Imaginary
T.I. - King Islands - Return to the Sea probably my three favorites so far this year, I don't know.
Hopefully Nas's new release is good. I have high hopes with the Jay-Z budget and all. |
Mike Patton's Peeping Tom thing leaked, and I'm really impressed by it. Best thing he's done since Bungle split, and definitely my favourite album of the year so far.
