Herb- You're not gonna use my guitar track? But then they won't be synchronized...

Chris- How'd the cymbal hit get there?

JoZ managed to get a random chime in his. Must be a tool curse.

Looking forward to your recording Chris

The cymbal hit is just a blip. Something stupid happened.

The timing during the middle clean part seemed off (it was probably me), but it all came back together as soon as I hit the distortion again. Odd.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-29-2005 05:10 PM

AJIG- If I hadn't done a bit of premixing on Ticks, you would have heard my mom talking on the phone. :p

AJIG on a different topic- I feel like stealing your avatar. :D

Mr Herb 06-29-2005 05:11 PM

Jake- I was thinking about putting a cd player like I did today and play along with it? would that work?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-29-2005 05:26 PM

That would work too, but why not just open my track in Audacity? It would be a lot easier that way. Less buttons to push I guess. My track isn't sychronized with the original Stinkfist, so you would have to burn it to a cd first to do it your way.

Tin_Heart 06-29-2005 06:11 PM

Please see: CD reviews: Tool: Aemina.

My post (Tin_Heart), last one I think (bottom of page 4). Post a reply here.

Bonza.

Wow.. okay Jake.. You can do T&L.. my mic totally sucks for this job.. I need to upgrade badly! Here is a very badly done (and incomplete) version of it.. notice the crappy quality aswell :p http://s30.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1IL047R6OIDZC2EVUIP4ZW6OOB

\is a recording noob

\is embaressed

Feel free to bash me on how bad it is!

edit: I couldn't fit parts together when I tried to connect them so it flows horribly.

Mr Herb 06-29-2005 07:10 PM

Jake- If i dont get it well synchronized for some weird reason, it can always be fixed by someone else right?

edit: I downloaded the guitar thigny 3 times but I cant find it with audicity. . .were could it be?

Lateralias 06-29-2005 07:12 PM
Jake- If i dont get it well synchronized for some weird reason, it can always be fixed by someone else right?
The tempo can be slowed down and sped up if to fast or slow. But if it's off timing that's a different issue.

Spiritofmosa 06-29-2005 07:26 PM

i like laterulus alot.. which tool album should i get

Rothmans 06-29-2005 07:28 PM
i like laterulus alot.. which tool album should i get
Aenema next then undertow then opiate best way but if you like there darker more straight forward stuff work you way up like opiat undertow then aenema.

Lateralias 06-29-2005 07:28 PM
i like laterulus alot.. which tool album should i get
Do you have Lateralus already my friend? if so.. go for Aenima.. work your way backwards if you really like Lateralus at the moment.

Mr Herb 06-29-2005 07:30 PM

like I did dude, get udnertow then lateralus and then aenima, perdy weird but it worked

Rothmans 06-29-2005 07:32 PM

Lateralus if my favourite tool piece I know alot of you prefer aenema but in my eyes laterlaus is one of the greatest pieces around I love that album I dont listen to it that much anymore because its gone a bit tedious but I have found myself listening to undertow a lot more of late anyway thats my last thought before I head on up to bed good luck people.

tis right, lateralus is teh ****

Lateralias 06-29-2005 07:34 PM

Opiate - Raw, heavy, short but shows the agressive roots of Tool
Undertow - Heavier than Opiate.. also darker too. Tool borderline on metal with this album, though still maintaining the signature progressiveness.
Aenima- Again it's heavy but less than Undertow, more "experimental" Tool is you ask me.. more progressive as well.
Salival - The bridge to the Lateralusesque sound, not really a new release of songs.. just a live album though there are some really monumental tracks here! Pu**** Live, No Quarter, and You Lied are brilliant!
Lateralus - .. well you already know how this sounds don't you :)

Mr Herb 06-29-2005 07:42 PM

Ive never heard opiate:(

SmashingPumpkin 06-29-2005 07:48 PM
Ive never heard opiate:(
It's pretty good. I recommend it. It's more like Undertow than the other albums.

SmashingPumpkin 06-29-2005 07:49 PM

IMO Aenema is the best album from Tool.

Mr Herb 06-29-2005 07:50 PM

Must be, buyt I dunno, something aobut it ticks me off, plus am short on cash. . .

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-29-2005 07:50 PM

Herb- If you need to, redownload the file and make sure you save it somewhere you know you can find. First, check your "Recieved files" folder, then just download it again if you still can't find it.

Lateralias- Ok, but just let me know if you ever upgrade your mic and you can do it. :)

Moses 06-29-2005 07:52 PM
Ive never heard opiate:(
I recommend it if you don't have to pay too much for it. It's not that good production wise but you can see the foreshadowings of what Tool was going to become.

Moses 06-29-2005 07:55 PM

Hey, people should check out my Skindred thread. I'd appreciate it much.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-29-2005 08:01 PM

Hey, people shouldn't whore or double post. I'd appreciate it much.

/checks out Skindred thread

Moses 06-29-2005 08:03 PM

Yeah, I know I shouldn't, but I had to.

I'm going to record since my family is out.

EDIT: ****. They just came back.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-29-2005 08:07 PM

46&2, amirite?

That would be great. I'm getting nervous that we may never complete an entire song.

EDIT: Fuck

Moses 06-29-2005 08:07 PM

Fix'd.

Lateralias 06-29-2005 08:36 PM

Wow didn't we have 46&2 down or is it still without vocals? and that is what you (moses) is trying to do?
