woo hoo, i just realised i bin here for almost 450 pages (i think)
|
Im annoying the neighbours with my late night recording
|
Woo, people posting, what recording ben?
|
The patient, a Tool song, the very first song I learned to play.
Most people would go with something easy, like californication. Not me Then im gonna put down some of my own riffs, which is when things start going downhill |
wow, been here for 450 pages would be an achievemnt, seen as we're on 441 at the mo. sorrrrrrrrrrry, i must have been really dumb 3 minutes ago, i meant 350 pages
|
I leart all the small things first.
|
On bass I assume? I started learning it for guitar, got distracted and never finished it. So after about 10 bars of the palm muting, people get fed up
|
First drum song I learnt=Californication. In terms of unoriginality, I win.
thats a universal song to learn first on most instruments. Try learning some Tool  You may run out of drums |
thats a universal song to learn first on most instruments.
I only just learnt that on bass not through lack of ability, through lack of arseness (is that even a slang word?) it's quite hard on bass, as are most chilli's songs |
Thats because Flea is so cool
I dont think there are many bands where all the parts are easy. Punk seems to have nastier drums than most |
Don't be silly Ben...what would I be doing even thinking of attempting to play something by Danny Carey? :p He is so far over the head of most, if not all rock drummers out there today that it's untrue. I heard Ticks & Leeches, which is just plain nuts.
he, you should hear the grudge, and 46 and 2. Go on his website http://www.dannycarey.com/ go to the education (under philosophy section), cyberclinic and watch the 3 videos. You may learn something..... ...and it reaffirms danny is amazing |

I dont think there are many bands where all the parts are easy. Punk seems to have nastier drums than most
yeh, i agree, there arent many bands where all the instruments are easy don't tell butler, but green day and blink are both very easy to play on guitar bass and drums |
Dont state the obviouse bob, but trav and tre are pretty alright drumers. Theres worse out there.
|
Tre's not a fantasitc drummer, he said in an interview his drumming on american idiot (album) was the best he could give, and to be honest (speaking as a non drummer) i didnt think it was anything ooutstandingly special.
but who cares? hes funny as fu.ck and hes just a funny dude edit: that sounded wrong, i meant that he's a pretty good drummer, better than some drummers *cough* travis *cough* but hes not brilliant, and when i say brilliant i mean john bohnam style brilliant |
Tres just totaly random.
|
also, if you listen to the bass playing on dookie, its phenomenal, when i come around and welcome to paradise are2 of the songs that made me wanna become a bassist, the bass playings awesome.
But when you listen to american idiot, it just sounds like hes not trying anymore, most of the songs are just root notes. He can still play really well, coz he plays welcome to paradise e.t.c live and it sounds awesome, it just sounds like he stopped trying on american idiot but dont get me wrong, i love green day and i love all their albums, especially A I |
They are...Travis is overrated, and Tre is underrated though. It pisses me off when people say Travis is one of the best in the world, as he's pretty quick, vaguely inventive and that's about it. They're solid drummers though...better than average.
checked out that link yet? Everyone watch it and see what a drummer should be like. I still remeber seeing Basket case for the first time and thinking 'How does he drum so fast?' |
Thats their most techincally difficult song, the solo is nuts, shred madness
Wait, thats H im thinking of. this one had the insane pinch harmonics in it |
 That's crazy...I love his explanation.
"This has been the most requested segment ever since the cyber clinics began. It is simply a solo break over 7/4 time with a bar of 8/4 every fourth bar. I always find it refreshing when melodies go over the bar line in solos, so I tried to take advantage of this technique in a couple of places. In odd time signatures it becomes very important to establish an inner pulse (such as 2-2-3 in 7) for a reference point. Once the corresponding pulse is internalized, any time signature can become a playground." How many people even really understand what he's on about? You could practice for years, and still not get to anything like that level.
*does not have broadband so is still waiting patiently for it to load while siletnly cursing myslef for not been rich enough to afford broadband* |
I think im gonna call it a night.
Bye. |
Im gonna keep recording till the police appear. then ill switch to acoustic set |
 bye butler
lol ben, you must be seriously pissing off the neighbours huh? |
He he, yeah. me and my guitar have not had luck with the law in the past. I got stopped in the street late night walking home, and they searched me and opened my guitar bag. They thought it was a gun.
But if they do come round 'Sorry officer, I didnt know my brand of country rock folk blues was that loud. Ill keep my vocals down then' ...'like a complete unknown.....like a rolling stone.....', 'that better sir?' |
 bye butler
lol ben, you must be seriously pissing off the neighbours huh?
thats the wierd thing, no complaints at all yet. I think one side is away, and the other side has only a 17 year old at home, and hes probably too busy pluggin his lady while the folks are away. |
well im off to the land of nod, night night
|
Another one falls |
The owl and the nighthawk  . We have a possible Animals Of farthing Wood spin off there indeed
|
I used to watch the Animals of Farthing Wood.
|
everyone did, or should have.
Fox kicked *** so badly. badger was just a faggot. And adder is probably the cause of my fear of snakes |
And of course, pregenant PC Soo (im sure thats how it was spelt, rather than the sue way)
