Neil Finn & friends - 7 Worlds Collide
Possibly one of the best concert recordings ever. I'm still enamoured. |
"Blood and Thunder" by Mastodon has the most ridiculous video ever.
Did you get it from my link in this thread? Or was it from somewhere else? Oh well, either way the song/video kicks ass. Easily the best straight-up metal band to come around this decade. |
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Joy Division - Closer |
I was listening to the Beatles' "Michelle" on and off throughout today. That's all, I think.
|
Daft Punk - Homework
|
I dig Ani DiFranco. She's wonderful.
|
Trans-Siberian Orchestra ft. Metallica - Carol Of The Bells
I like this, I think it creates an amazing sound. |
Why? - Sanddollars EP
Thrice - Vheissu 65daysofstatic - The Fall Of Math At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command |
William Shatner - Has Been

Beck - Odelay David Bowie - Heroes Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot The Who - The Who Sell Out The Roots - Phrenology |
Primus - Frizzle Fry
I want to listen to more primus. Thankfully I have a friend that has every single one of their albums. |

Prince & The Revolution - Purple Rain
Nice, another Prince fan. I need Purple Rain, I only have his greatest hits :( I've been into Peter Gabriel lately. |
Primal Scream - XTRMNTR
Converge - Caring and Killing
Converge is great. Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker I still hold it as his best. I don't like how allmusic gave 29 2 stars already. |
Today's been a Half Japanese day:
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
I still hold it as his best. I don't like how allmusic gave 29 2 stars already.
It hasn't even been released yet! Fuck allmusic. |
Talking Heads is the best band to come out the 70s, in my opinion. What do you think?
|
Completely disagree with ya' on that one Zaphoid.

I dunno about best, but definitely one of the best. Remain In Light came out in 1980, so some would argue that they hit their peak in the '80s. Truly, a question for the ages. |
It hasn't even been released yet! Fuck allmusic.
Oi! I hope they're wrong. |
Completely disagree with ya' on that one Zaphoid.
Who do you nominate in their place? Anyone? Or do you just generally disagree with the idea that TH ruled. |
No no, I'm quite a Talking Heads fan myself, but I think that's a pretty huge call to make. I wouldn't call them the best band to come out of the 70's.
If I was to pick (and this is hard) I'd probably go with someone like Television, Patti Smith or the Buzzcocks. I dunno though, it's near impossible to make a call like that accurately. |

That depends on how you classify "to come out of the 70s." If it means they released their debut album in the 70s, then I'd agree that Talking Heads are the best. But if it means they had their prime in the 70s, I'd go with Bowie. |
Actually yeah, add Bowie and the Modern Lovers to my list. I'd pick Bowie as the most important of that era.
|
Pfft. You can't call Converge a metal band. Well not metal in the same vein as the 'Don. I knows me metal, so don't you argue boy!

Say they're you're favourite, not the best band to come out of the 70's.
To each his own, blah blah blah. ihQThgpijnwrgpwr[oih wrpijbrgptiurwehtv\ tp4iun34pitu (/typing with tongue\) wiufwpiuegfv |
Joy Division - Closer
Yo La Tengo - Painful Minutemen - The Punch Line |
Medications
|
Not in the same vein, but throat-shredding head-crushing rock is still metal in my book.
In that case I would probably put DEP ahead of anyone else. Then again, I should really just listen to Converge because any metal band good enough for you has to be pretty damn good. |
