I'm going to see it tomorrow. That or Wedding Crashers.
I was gonna see Charlie and the chocolate factory but evil peoples canceled on me :upset:
I have no intent to see that movie. Hot Topic sells shirts with golden tickets (don't ask me why I know what they have a hot topic...i have a....little sister).
I had the best weekend ever. I saw Sin City on Saturday night which was amazing and then saw The Blood Brothers the next day. The only thing that topped it off was that I met Johnny Whitney who was one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
My weekend was utter bullshit. I hate weekends.
Yesterday I got up earlier than usual to go rehearse for a non-paying band gig about a half hour away. Because very few people showed up (we had no tubas, 1 trombone, etc), the gig was called off, but I still spent an hour and a half sight-reading lame band arrangements of crappy show tunes (Andrew Lloyd Webber should die). Grr.

It's really good. The beginning parts with poor Charlie Bucket have Conor Oberst singing in the background, and the insane boat ride is complemented by The Mars Volta :) |
I like Andrew Lloyd Webber. Our school is huge on musical theatre, which I am not. It's good being involved in productions though, they are of quite a high standard.
Are you serious Yd? Cause if you are Tim Burton needs to get a life.

Hell no, I'm just playing with Zmev's hatred of those two bands. It's a Danny Elfman score, naturally. |
I thought he was serious but then I realised he was poking fun at Zmev which was when I laughed.
Danny Elfman owned this film with his score.
I don't know why all the Oompa-Loompas were East Indian, though. |
Phew.
Danny Elfman is the bomb.
I'm so amazed by Sin City that I have resolved to see it at least twice more in the theaters and I'm making all my friends see it this weekend. |
SC was a cool flick.

I went to "sleep" at 1, or so, and I couldn't sleep at all. So, I guess I've been sitting on my computer since...5:00. Hmm.. what's on my desk today!
You Are the Quarry, Daydream Nation, Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, Singles, De-Loused in the Comatorium, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, Frances the Mute, Fevers & Mirros, I'm Wide Awake It's Morning, Lifted or the Story is in the Soil Keep Your Ear to the Ground, Murmur, OK Computer. There is a brass-slide, a bunch of pens, printer, fan, tissue box, cd-intake section of my stereo, remote for stereo, glass with a little bit of grape juice left, speakers that don't work, floppy disks, my cat, a stapler, a map to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that's probably been in the same spot for a year or two, lint, a modem, headphones, those CD case things, a drawer, my mouse, monitor, a purse, batteries, nail filers, sunglasses, paper, blank CDs, on of those disks that comes with GuitarOne.... |
I want a slide...I'm not sure if I should get brass, steel or glass though.
The one I have is one that my father made in the 70s. It's not really the greatest, but I like using it. I would suggest glass, probably. The glass ones sound a lot smoother.
I would also suggest raising the action, if you haven't already. Slide is a lot better to play in open tuning, especially E and G, since you can barre with the slide across the whole fret, and it's basically a full chord. |
Yeah I picked up a piece of plastic tubing once and used it as a slide on my acoustic, it was awesome but i need a real slide. My brother was going to buy me one but then he bought me bass strings instead.
You can get slides in the U.S. anywhere from, $15-20 and upwards. At least, nice ones are that much. I don't know how much they would be there, though.
I dunno, I'll have to have a look. I might see if any mates have one first.
Good night everyone. |
Good Night My Love.
There's a glassblowing company around here that makes both pipes and slides. I always wanted to get a matching set, but their slides are like $25.
I'm wide awake, it's 8:17am.

If I wake up after 9, I feel like I've wasted my day.
Well, maybe if I actually had somewhere to be, I'd feel that way as well.
You know what they say. The early bird gets the err.. birdseed.
I woke up at 5. Normally, I would just now be waking up.
Isn't that mondo, or what? Shyeah. |
I remember when I was a kid my favorite drink was called Mondo. It was good stuff.
I'm filling out a 37 page survey to work at Borders. Ugh
