The thing that sucked about FtM was the fact that about 1/4 of it wasn't actually music, so I would sit there through the 70 minutes, and be bored out of my mind by the end because most of it wasn't even that stimulating. :-/
Yeah, I know what you mean...yet somehow, I like it better than De-Loused....Why? I don't know! |
The Lateralus/Ænima debate will always be there, but everyone can agree they are both amazing albums, and will be hard for Tool to top either of them with the next album.
/start new statement After hearing what King Buzzo (I'm pretty sure it was him?) in No Quarter, I think it'd be neat to have him appear again. |
I just review their album yesterday on Sputnik, too.
Yeah iw as planning to do it. Luckily i didn't *shakes fist* Meh i'm calling dibs on Bjorks medulla, debut and vespertine i think. Plus i might do the Kyuss album i just got, 'welcome to sky valley', after it sinks in. FtM and DitC serve different purposes to me. DitC for a rocky feel, uptempo, that i will give my attention to. FtM for reading or sleeping or other stuff :naughty: |

Remember, noone has even confirmed that there is such a thing in existence. I'm correct on this, right? Or am I on drugs? |
Its about time Tool had a guest musician in again. There's a pretty high standard to live up to.
Personally, Mikel from Opeth on a vocal harmony would own. And there are loads of guitarists who would do a great guest apperance (a Morello/Jones one -off reunion, playing Noiseland Arcade stuff :) ) |
Electric Sheep++

I would definately love to hear both of those collaborations. |
Electric Sheep++
Pfft, go back further than those. Noiseland Arcade sounded terrible and great at the same time, even though, no audio |

If Mike and Maynard harmonize right and stuff, it could be brillant, as well as an effect fest from Tom and Adam... as long as theres no really flashy stuff from Tom... |
Maynard and Patton duet?
Maynard and Bjork/Tori Amos? Morello for guitar would be cool, as long as tool make him play something that sounds good, not like some of the sh!t he created for the new audioslave. I don't know if the Noiseland Arcade stuff would be any good... |
I'm still crossing my fingers for that Opeth and Tool tour. I'd love to see Isis, but Opeth and Tool would be great.
The only other greater possibility would be to have another tour with Meshuggah (for me anyways). Oh, and it's official... "...Haake beats us [the metal drumming greats] all." - Gene Hoglan and that means a lot. |
Man if Tool and Opeth toured together... that would be absolute madness...
|

The guys Gorro, he's ahead of the game till robots can drum.
Im still trying to guess what bands would go with Tool/are in a touring position/etc |
I'm hoping that Carey takes on some of Haake's octopatic techniques.
RH-4/4 LH-3/4 Feet-5/4 Who's Gene Hoglan, though? |
Guitars for Lateralus are done. :)
|
Even Danny?
Probably :upset:
I wouldn't call Danny a metal drummer. He's too diverse. He can definetly play metal, but I wouldn't say he could match up to Haake in that realm of drumming.
Who's Gene Hoglan, though?
Gene Hoglan is considered along with others (Dave Lombardo for example) others to be the best metal drummer ever. |

I wouldn't call Haake a metal drummer. His drumming is basically extremely technical jazz playing(sans double bass, of course).
Chris-YSI w00t! MJK- First off, I feel funny talk to MJK. Second of all, get Chaosphere and/or "I." Both are amazing. I is perhaps the single most amazing metal song that has ever graced my lobes. |
I gotta hear me some Messugah.
Go listen to a song called "I", or a song called "Future Breed Machine"
I is perhaps the single most amazing metal song that has ever graced my lobes.
That isn't even an exagerration. So true. |

'Specially not in the UK. I think the support act will be small again, Isis is an option, definateley. Where dya think they will play in the UK? I want it to be smallish (Brixton/Hammersmith) but i still want to be able to get tickets. I don't think tool would fill/suit a big arena in the UK (NEC, Wembley, Earls Court). I know they have played both brixton and the hammersmith in the past... |
I gotta hear me some Messugah.
Ill work out my 'I' snippet audio one day. Ill take the best bits to make a 1-2 minute offering, as a preview |
Go listen to a song called "I", or a song called "Future Breed Machine"
'I' is an album with one song, right? Called 'I' |
'I' is an album with one song, right? Called 'I'
Yep. It's a huge metal epic. So is Catch 33 though, just divided into parts. The more I listen to C33 I love it more and more. It's becoming a favorite. |
Yes, exactly 21 min long.
|
Give him the section with the scream, for sure, Ben.
Sliptallica- But who did he play for? (Hoglan, that is) I think out of Opeth, Isis, and Meshuggah, I'd rather see Tool and Meshuggah. I seriously have to listen to Meshuggah live because I'm having trouble beleiving it is humanly possible to pull off such godly rythms. 21 minute EP=I |
Gene Hoglan played with Death and I think now Strapping Young Lad.
|

Their singer looks so freaking scary at times. |
I'm hoping for Opeth to tour with them. It will be around the time of their new album, so it makes sense. If not, I want Meshuggah.

I've tried to get into Meshuggah, but so far, I hate them. It's very impressive, but yeah.. I don't like it. Now that link on the other hand.. I like it. It's not perfect, but I like it. :D |
Meshuggah live is an experience. Their singer looks so freaking scary at times.
I'm surprised he still has a throat. I've seen a video. They put on an amazing show. My friend saw them with Tool in '02 and said that Jens Kidman looked exactly like Maynard. Jens looks nothing like Maynard. |
He's bald to isn't he?
|
Yeah, he is....at least the pic I saw him in showed him bald.
|
He's bald to isn't he?
Yeah, but in 'convict who'll knife you in the showers' bald |
Yes.
a sexy picture of him his smack on the front of http://www.meshuggah.net The way they sign/title there updates on that thing is hilarious. |
