that's pretty sad. "Yeah i want to break up with you, but... i just can't. so let's stay together and hate each other because between the two of us, we have precisely 0 balls."

je ne vous comprends pas.
Hate eachother? Not even close.
That's why we couldn't break up.

Win A Rabbit 03-16-2008 10:28 PM

 today my mom was like "umm what the hell is with your voicemail?" so i called myself to see what it was, because every now and then i just change it to random stuff and i couldn't remember what i changed it to last, and it was like 30 seconds from a porno. apparently my friend put it on there.

apparently it's been like that for over a month now. i just never get voicemails.

bobby__johnny 03-16-2008 10:42 PM

rofl, thats priceless

Sunshine 03-16-2008 10:43 PM

Haha, awesome.
So I still haven't started my paper/article and its almost midnight.
Guess I could start.

Jody LeCompte 03-16-2008 10:43 PM

Sup drum forum?

I want to learn to play congas so bad, I don't know how to determine their quality.

bobby__johnny 03-16-2008 10:44 PM

LP Aspire. its like the Exports of hand percussion

Jody LeCompte 03-16-2008 10:46 PM

Sweet, I'll check it out.

The first time I sat down I tried applying the styles I've learned on acoustic guitar(Don Ross, Andy Mckee, that percussive style of acoustic playing) and it was kind of meh, but my drummer managed to convince me to learn some proper technique and it's such an amazingly fun thing to do.

NP: Dropkick Murphys - Sunshine Highway

...^-^

bobby__johnny 03-16-2008 10:49 PM

aye! goin for some irish breakfast tomorow!. Green beer with mah breakfast!

Jody LeCompte 03-16-2008 10:50 PM

Just right off hand I saw these two:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Latin-Percussion-Performer-Series-11-34-Conga?sku=441047
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Toca-Sheila-E-Custom-Series-Quinto?sku=443309

I'd be playing a lot of latin oriented material. My drummer has me crazy over latin percussion latley, we're writing a bossa nova jam and it's impossible to not have groove dripping off such an amazing style like honey.

Seafroggys 03-16-2008 10:51 PM

St Patty's Day is a bunch of bullshit

Seeing as the asshole murdered the Druids of Ireland to make way for Christ!

Win A Rabbit 03-16-2008 10:51 PM

so this sucks.

i don't know what happened but my bass in one of the songs is horrible.

like it's way up in the mix and then way low in the mix and then cuts out and then is way high in the mix again and then low in the mix.

but it was all one complete take.

i don't understand. the other song sounds wicked, but this one's not so much.

Jody LeCompte 03-16-2008 10:52 PM

I hate recording, I wish I could just will my music onto a cd.

bobby__johnny 03-16-2008 10:54 PM

eh?

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Latin-Percussion-Conga-3Pack-with-Free-Bongos?sku=443128

bang for your buck set there man. 3 conga's and a pair of Bongos.

Win A Rabbit 03-16-2008 10:56 PM

i'm thinking i should just re-record it here at home (straight from bass pod into computer) and send it to him, because it sounds so bad on the recording i got sent to me.

bobby__johnny 03-16-2008 10:58 PM

man, after i get my new kit....i'm gonna want to get a bass :thumb:

Jody LeCompte 03-16-2008 11:06 PM

I can't think of any reason why a drummer shouldn't learn bass.

My few weeks on conga have already brought about a dramatic effect in my bass playing.

Also, the Latin Percussion pack looks interesting but I'm looking for just a single conga. If I take to it as well as I have been then I'll buy the higher pitched conga, can't think of what they're called.

It'll be a while before I have enough time from my guitar studies to build a hand percussion rig. See, the thing is. I had a drumset YEARS and YEARS ago and when I finally decided I actually wanted to play I had outgrown the kids starter kit. Now my living situations make owning a drumset difficult and hand percussion is practically limitless.

Bodhrans are pretty neat.

The playing style reminds me of the same way I would function playing upright bass in a rockabilly or country setting.

fishbulb 03-17-2008 12:21 AM

My Wii kind of reads discs sometimes now. I'll turn it on and it says please insert disc on the disc channel then i'll turn it off and back on then it reads it fine. And when it can't read it i can't eject it so it's stuck in there.

Very weird.

Seafroggys 03-17-2008 12:31 AM

Have barely touched my Wii in months.

I have Mario Galaxy that has been untouched since Christmas morning.

In other news....I LOVE RECORDING!

Panopticon 03-17-2008 02:10 AM

i hate recording atm. Especially vox.

And for some reason cubase won't save projects, which is VERY VERY inconvenient.

Aaron 03-17-2008 03:38 AM

I just laybyed a pair of overheads and obtained an amp and leads for my bass geetar.

Berk 03-17-2008 09:48 AM
