Zmev 07-17-2005 09:17 AM

I thought you'd be against 87 mostly.

Iai 07-17-2005 09:21 AM

What. The. ****.

I didn't even see that.

ATM 07-17-2005 09:22 AM

Television are considered punk?

Kyle 07-17-2005 09:23 AM

im happy with number 2, I love that song.

Iai 07-17-2005 09:25 AM

It looks like a decent list, but round about #73 they ran out of good ideas and starting including crap.

Parfait 07-17-2005 10:05 AM

I think it's fairly well done. A Fear song, a NoMeansNo song, a Stranglers song, and a 999 song would have been nice.

Iai 07-17-2005 11:51 AM

They didn't include The Stranglers?

Parfait 07-17-2005 11:53 AM

I think Fear is actually the grossest oversight. "I Love Livin' in the City" and "New York's Alright If You Like Saxophones" are entirely classic.

Iai 07-17-2005 12:00 PM

I can understand them missing Fear from a commercial persepective (meaning they simply may not have heard them), but I was under the impression that The Stranglers were the most successful punk group of all time.

Maybe that's just the UK.

:speechlessness:

pikester 07-17-2005 01:38 PM

My favorite local band is coming back and playing thier homecoming show in vancouver tonight after being away for like 3 months on tour.

I'm painfully excited.

YDload 07-17-2005 03:27 PM

It was an okay list I guess. I don't agree with the order too much, but they have Bastards of Young, Pink Turns to Blue, and two Minutemen songs. That's pretty good I guess.

The NPC 07-17-2005 04:07 PM

Wow, no "Academy Fight Song", "Peking Spring", "Progress", or "Mica" in the Top 100. Interesting.

Parfait 07-17-2005 04:09 PM

You don't list which bands wrote and recorded those songs because you want us to be scratching our heads.

The NPC 07-17-2005 04:13 PM
You don't list which bands wrote and recorded those songs because you want us to be scratching our heads.
That would be correct (all of them are Mission of Burma). I think you should start posting as Zappa more often though.

Also, none of the Fall's music was mentioned which is odd.

Little Man being Erased 07-17-2005 04:29 PM

I don't like lists.

My weekend was basically filled up with Harry Potter, but I did manage to catch two utterly terrible bands on Friday night.

Yep, lists are crappy and H. Potter is no good.

Little Man being Erased 07-17-2005 04:33 PM

Oh shi.

Parfait 07-17-2005 05:36 PM

You're the second one today to encourage Zappa posting. Hmm.

Zappa 07-17-2005 06:09 PM

I don't generally lump Mission of Burma or The Fall in with the sorts of bands that made that list. It was almost all '77 stuff and 80s hardcore.

YDload 07-17-2005 09:00 PM

Holy crap, the link that Zmev posted for the list has about a hundred other music-related lists underneath it.

I'm tempted to look, but then I'll just be severely angered.

*looks up top 100 bassists anyway* :(

Glitterati 07-17-2005 09:29 PM

Totally off-topic, I saw Charlie & The Chocolate Factory today.

Daniel! 07-17-2005 09:30 PM

I saw it yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Johnny Depp was pretty good.
