They're fun/catchy... kinda like Death Cab
Yea I love them, but definantly get Blue Screen Life. It's amazing. |

Belle & Sebastian's The Life Pursuit. Thanks to Zmev for sharing me the album, :thumb:
That also sparked me into listening to their older albums. I'm glad I got back into them more. Also, The New Pornographers |

Hmm, I guess Stand Inside Your Love is the best SP song. Reminds me a lot of Dino Jr's "Thumb" as well. Both great songs, really.

True dat. I've gone through phases where I thought each different album/EP of theirs was their best, but I think I've finally settled on Blue Screen Life overall. And speaking of Pinback... I just now finally got around to hearing a few Rum Diary songs, after a couple years of them being on the backburner of my 'to check out' list. And they sound a lot like Pinback. And that's a good thing. |
Pinback is addictive.

Too bad they are horrible live :-/

Was listening to that Islands album yesterday. Seemed kinda meh. But a nice try in general, I guess. Also heard Jason Collett's album Idols In Exile which was tastefully good. I liked the song with Emily Haines. But I like every song with Emily Haines. Except for the ones she does with Metric.

I actually like the Islands album a lot.
It took a few spins to grow on me though. |

So far today:
Broken Social Scene The Decemberists Iron & Wine |
Elliott Smith - Roman Candle
You know, since I'm feeling cripplingly (i cant ****ing spell) depressed today, this is possibly the worst music for me to be listening to. Perhaps after, I shall listen to The Verve - Urban Hymns. I've been listening to that more lately, The Drugs Don't Work is brilliant. But what do I know about music, I listen to Coldplay! |
The Banans - The First Ten Years
Operation: Cliff Clavin - Who Needs Electricity? Operation: Cliff Clavin - Freedom Of Choice Surf Nazis Must Die - Discography Minutemen - The Punch Line |
Elliott Smith always makes me feel good, even though it is such sad music.
Anyway, I heard Mondo Generator at work today, and it is so so good. It's the bassist from QOTSA's band. |
REM - Document
REM - Out of Time Red House Painters - Red House Painters I and a little later - J Dilla - Donuts |

Despite hearing about them sooo many times from various people, I've never heard Mondo generator. I've been diggin' The Beastie Boys this week. |
The Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics
After the first two dreadful tracks the album is excellent. |
Currently: Cursive - Domestica
|
Oh, I almost forgot the last group on my last.fm:
11 Chuck D. Cheese's 2 |
The Specials - s/t
One of my alltime favorite albums. So many classic songs. |
Group X - Schfifty Five was just acquired!
*goes on listening spree* |
I never thought I'd say this, but GWAR is pretty neat. I guess it's because I can't understand the lyrics very well, but they're pretty musically proficient at least.
You're not missin' much. They're decent at best.
Yeah, I kinda guessed they wouldn't be anything special. I'll delay listening to them for another couple of years I think.

The lyrics are one of the things that attracts me to GWAR. Such an awesome band. Live they are amazing. Just amazing. |
I want to see those guys live.
Today I've just been digging: I Heart Hiroshima - A Three Letter Word For Candy Converge - Jane Doe, You Fail Me and Petitioning The Empty Sky Xiu Xiu - Fabulous Muscles I've listened to those repeatedly. My friend told me today that she likes Xiu Xiu and I thought that was pretty cool. I think I'll listen to some Thrice now. |
I sw GWAR live
|
I listened to Pantera earlier...gahhh I'm hardcore.
