What do you guys think of Fall of the Idols. I've heard just one song, but it's pretty impressive. I'm downloading Womb of the Earth right now.
|
I saw them live a few months ago
I was impressed, but never checked out any of their stuff aterwards. Thanks for reminding me. |
What kind of doom are they?
|
any Dozer fans? their new album Beyond Colossal is a huge stoner rock/metal album. Exoskeleton, Pt. II is one of the best songs of the year. love it

Reverend Bizarre-ish |
what mike said
|
Except the vocals are more in your face like.
|
its really more in how they play.
|
If they're like the Rev Lee will dislike them. :(
|
Indeed. I'll give them a brief listen though.
|
Fall of Idols aren't that similar to Rev Bizarre in my mind. They're a bit more epic. I'd file them alongside Apostle of Solitude. Not groundbreaking but some decent tunes.
|
anyone listen to Hyponic?
|
nope
|
pretty cool death/doom kinda stuff
|

Kickass. Apostle is cool. |
anybody heard of Jex Thoth? i got their Totem EP off of the mercenario blog and its really good stoner/traditional doom metal with female vocals. it has an older traditional doom sound to it.
|
Any of you guys into Wormphlegm?
|
Yeah, I am.
The vocals are sick, even though they're clearly manipulated. np: Skepticism - Shred Of Light, Pinch Of Endless |
Yeah, I am.

If you're interested in any other mateiral by them, check out Tyranny.
WHile not as tortuous(sp?) as Wormphlegm, it has tons of dark dark twisted atmosphere. |

ive been rooting through some old cds as of late and seeing this thread reminded me of some epic music |
They are really good. Most of their riffs are awesome.

i hope you like it. i forgot to mention its a bit psychedelic sometimes. dont know if thats a turn off for you |
Could go either way.
All you fools need to listen to Passage. Epic ****. |
yeah theres some parts that i dont like from Jex Thoth when they try and be too trippy, but overall they are awesome.
added Passage to my wishlist |

To be honest I can't be arsed with them at all. Sounds like they're trying too hard to be 70's. And the bird's quasi-mystical warblings just get on my nerves. And Blood Ceremony are just as bad. |
I dig Blood Ceremony :(
I don't consider them Doom Metal so much though. |
