I don't seriously love any of the Boss pedals, even the TU-2/3 (I'm in love with my Sonic Research Turbo Tuner), but I adore my Boss OC-2 more than any octave I've used or heard.
As for selling things for a Big Muff? I'd try one out first to make sure you like them. I wanted one for ages, then bought it and discovered I hate fuzz. ymmv. |

It has that blend option so that I can put on a mild distortion and not fuzz-out my sound. It was also only $70, so I couldn't say no. |

Haha! Bravo. |
I haven't posted here in a while. Great to see you guys are still here and talking about sweet shit & bass of course. Happy holidays and stay safe ya'll.
|
Dude, it's Todd Time.
|
We started recording an EP today. We're doing it live, which is a first for me. We got one out of four songs done.
I don't know exactly what days we all have free to record, but it should all be done pretty quickly. I say within two weeks it should be done. |
i'm bored of the snow here. we've had easy a foot of it now over the last couple days. i know it's probably nothing to a lot of american/canadian people or whatever, but it's basically left me housebound. i can't really get to work, i can't do my job once i get there, no public transport is running, and most of the shops in town are shut. wtf.

It sounds like England doesn't understand how to function in snow. We barely hit freezing temperatures at night, so there's no hope of snow for us. It sucks to be a snowboarder in Arizona. |
Well last year was the worst snow in 20 years apparently. And I get the impression this year is worse than last year. I think the difference is that countries like Canada, or Sweden and anywhere that's really snowy, is that they all know the deep snow is inevitable and have suitable budgets in place. Over here, snow is only ever a possibility, and we simply don't have the money thrown at coping with the snow.

Playing another show tonight. Should be swell.
|
We played a show last night. It was awesome. I shredded up 3 of my fingers and got 2 blisters from a solo in one of the songs.
|
How's the band doing, Ben?

right on :thumb: 10 years ago I lived in mid ontario and could walk off of or onto my roof because the snow got so bad. supposed to be getting 60 cm tonight. might have to cancel band practice :( |

Pretty good. We're just really coming into our own as a 3 piece instead of a 4 piece. The couple of shows we played after our other guitar player left weren't so good... although Saturday's show was awesome. |

It's all about the crowd and having everyone do a bit of finaggling to fill the sonic void. Glad you had a good show - those always feel great. What song did you solo in? |

It's a track called Ashtray. It's not up on our Soundcloud. It starts off with a really soft, mellow guitar part, and then the bass just kind of comes in low and gradually turns into cacophony of my reverb, octave, and distortion pedal all ripping at once. |
Dude, sounds le sick. Any chance of recordings in the future?
Also, that show Community is great. I can safely say that I haven't laughed out loud in quite a while, and this show actually gets it out of me. |
So, the show on Sunday was pretty sweet. It wasn't packed on account of it being a Sunday night and people studying for exams and finishing papers and stuff, but we still got a pretty good crowd out.
Next show isn't until January, but it should be a really good one. We're recording this EP right now and it's coming along quite nicely. It should be released in about a month or two. |
What's a good turn out for you guys?
|
A good turnout for us alone is about 60+. With other bands, probably about 100+. We're getting more and more people coming out every time. We've only played 5 shows with this line-up so far and the crowd is growing each time. The response is always great.
In a city where people are extremely hesitant to go see local bands, we're beginning to make a good name for ourselves. |
We got about 100 people on our first show :amaze:
Too bad it was mostly friends and what not :upset: We did zero promotion though and made $100 off it so that was a nice suprise. |
Lol, we play such small shows :(
|
Yeah I never see 50 just for any of my bands. For a night in general here 50 is a good number.
|
ya i play small shows too
by that i mean i dont play shows at all also im buying a new guitar a douglas spad pro yay rondomusic |
Sweet. Looks like an ESP or a Schecter. Me gusta. Lemme know how you like it.
|
Our guitarist just bought an Agile 8 string, and it's pretty sweet. I definitely prefer it to his LTD 8 that cost like twice as much, in looks and sound. If that's anything to go by, it should be a good guitar :)
|
Should have my five string early in the new year :).
|
5 string what?

Haha well my theory is that if you play small venues you're going to get small crowds. So if you're filling the room, that's all good, there's only so much you can do as a local band. But if you've been gigging for a year and you still get the same three people coming to your gig I think you need to start writing better material. |

Fatty needs better promoting. |

Fatty needs better promoting.
Maybe in regards to record sales... But most good bands, whether successful or not have a live fan base of some sort. |
