None of my medication is actually directly related to depression because i'm not "depressed" according to some people. I just use painkillers, my allergy medicine, and sleeping pills to get rid of some of it.
What kinds of people have told you this? Have you seen a doctor?

Sorry if I'm prying here. :(

Parents, and I'm guessing that they convinced the doctor because they came to an "agreement" about it. They pretty much told me to look at things more positively and get more sleep, which doesn't make any sense. I can't get sleep because of it, and looking at things positively just doesn't always work.

Sometimes it's not easy or even possible to look at things positively. I've had experiences where no matter what I thought I just wanted to sit in a corner and cry, and times like that can't always be dealt with on your own. It sounds like you've really got it, and if it gets any worse, you really need to say something. Coming to an "Agreement" that you're fine sounds like a stupid way to avoid the problem.

An agreement is nothing if you it's just a random guess that it might help. It's almost impossible to look at things positively when you are depressed or whatever because even positive have negative attachments. What I mean by that is that you can have something positive but no matter what you only find the bad things about it. Sleeping doesn't help much. It just means I am not as tired in school. Nothing I have tried works. If any of this is comming from a love life or relationship or anything, I don't know what to say. I think that depression/thing is different from the others. I havn't figured it out for myself.

You're deffinately right about that.

I have felt like that too. The only thing is, you need to try not to turn out like those wanna-be emo type mall kids who cry about their social life. When people hear about someone wanting to cry, that's all that comes to their head these days. Hell, even I have forgotten that some other people aren't always fake and really DO have problems that they need fixed. It must suck to be a doctor these days because there are a lot of kids who fake everything for attention and for people to feel sorry for them. All I need to say is don't deny it to yourself... it really doesn't help. I am stuck thinking intensely every night trying to figure out what needs to be done.

Anyyyywayyyy. So people don't get too mad about the complete off-topic idea of this board. Does anyone else here know who Neuroticfish is? Children of Bodom used to play their "They're Comming to Take Me Away" as they came on stage. If anyone knows who they are, does anyone know of any other groups that play similar music? I have gotten into their dark electronic-type feeling and was just curious if there are anyone really well known who are like them.
EDIT: Hahaha, I just realized that's still off-topic I guess.

AA-12 02-25-2006 12:35 PM

they're coming to take me away, ha ha
they're coming to take me away, ho ho

That? Or something like it.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 02:17 PM

Wasnt Alexi in a mental institution like 3 different times or something?
Wasnt Alexi in a mental institution like 3 different times or something?
I honestly have no idea... That just sounded cool when the lights were off as they came on stage. It presented a really freaky atmosphere. All I know about that whole idea is that he was suicidal (not suprising) and he knocked himself out for a week with sleeping pills and booze I think.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 02:39 PM

I read he was in a coma for 3 weeks after that attempt

PsychoticFlubber 02-25-2006 02:42 PM
I read he was in a coma for 3 weeks after that attempt
Oh... I thought it was only one week. Oh well. Yeah, he did knock himself out pretty bad though.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 02:49 PM

Well i just read where he said he did the attempt, they revived him,and a lil while later he was back in the hospital for about a week so who knows.Im glad hes ok now tho and doing better

repcak 02-25-2006 04:28 PM

Guitar world April 2005:
"Laiho decided that he'd had enough of life and was ready to die. Downing 30 tranquillizers, he knocked back a few shots of whiskey and slipped into unconsciousness.
'A friend found me on the floor and brought me to the hospital. i wasn't in a good place', he explains."

I don't know how long he was in coma, but i know that the suicidal attempt was after the release of Something Wild.

edit:
The way I see it, if you want to be like Alexi then go out and buy the cheapest Jackson RR with a floyd Rose trem and 24 frets, then change the trem pickup to an EMG-Hz. Those are the cheaper EMG pick-ups too.
you won't find a Jackson RR with 24frets... they don't exist!

They're not the lyrics I've heard...

I have:

They're coming to take me away haha
They're coming to take me away hoho, hehe, haha,
Such a happy home, with trees and flowers, and chirping birds, and basket weavers, who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs, and they're coming to take me away haha.

Shattered_Future 02-25-2006 05:18 PM

Oh, on the subject of Gibsons and metal...

At Opeth on Friday, Dark Tranquillity played exclusively Gibson guitars. If that's not metal enough, stop drinking.

repcak 02-25-2006 05:18 PM

which song? *g*

Gibson and metal: Zakk Wylde, Slash, Jimmy Page, and even Metallica has some Gibson, but they never play them live
... and i know, that zakk wylde is more hard rock than metal and jimmy page classic rock, but they have/had a big influence on metal music!

I never get "upset" or cry....Everytime for me comes out in anger...I have a nasty temper and the aggressive personality to match. lawl.

If I feel like shit, I manage to get in a argument or w/e, get pissed, get very pissed and then go to sleep.

OD'ing is not funny.
I've OD"d on sleeping pills. Not a suicide attempt...I just was a idiot and took way more then I normally did to get a rush.
I don't reccomend drugs...FTR...speaking from expreience.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 05:58 PM

I get ill with everyone and take my depression out on everyone,i do cry well i have been lately and i stay in bed more than i usually would,i think i need meds or something

repcak 02-25-2006 06:01 PM

bodom fan = depressive?!

it seems to be :D

/me joins the club

repcak 02-25-2006 06:05 PM

i think my 3rd guitar will be this one:
http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=EG00781

and i will paint some yellow straps on it :D

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 06:07 PM

That looks really cool, itll be even better when u do the yellow thing, good luck with it

repcak 02-25-2006 06:11 PM

but at first i have to buy me 2nd guitar... the RR will be my 3rd; and first of all i need the money. though a friend of a friend is building guitars, so he will be able to make the yellow straps professionally :D

my 2nd guitar (as mentioned above) will be a Jackson DXMG, now i have only a poor Ibanez GSA 60 :(

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 06:13 PM

At least u have something tho,i still have to get my first guitar lol i have yet to get an instrument and it will still be a good while before i can, hope u can get what u want tho

repcak 02-25-2006 06:20 PM

if you just start to learn guitar, every guitar will do it. i bought a cheap ibanez guitar for 200/250€ and i play on the guitar for 2years now. and a have only a 15watt marshall MG15CRD amp... nothing special... all together about 400-500€. i don't remember it exactly anymore

I'm Charming 02-25-2006 06:30 PM
i think i need meds or something
Meds will just make you feel better for a lil while. They don't change what is really bothering you...You gotta work on that yourself..A pill will only mask it for a while.

MRDuCran 02-25-2006 06:36 PM

That's what I told her. It my fault anyway.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 02-25-2006 06:37 PM

It is not,stop saying that

I'm Charming 02-25-2006 06:40 PM

ohhh boiz.. we'd have a match.. if only we had a card girl...:p

repcak 02-25-2006 06:48 PM

its the same what trent reznor said once in an interview... you have to deal with it, pills won't solve the problem.

Besides, you mask **** it only gets far worse overtime. That's how you get to being suicidal and depressed as hell. It builds over time and you just fall lower and lower.

Britton 02-25-2006 07:06 PM

I wrote a song that's kinda about suicide...it's sad.

I don't think I've told ya'll about my girls...

I have "Black Beauty" the rip off LP copy (don't tell her I said that...she thinks she's a gibby)

I have "The thing that should not be" it's a crappy little washburn that's modled after a strat (you can do what ever you want to her)

Then I have "Prolly" she's a acoustic yamaha that's named after the Nirvana song "Polly" I named her that because that was the first song I sang and played at the same time.

Then On monday ,My first son is arriving1 he's a 100Watt Vox Valvetronix...and I haven't decided what I should name him.

The next guitar I will get?...Prolly a standard Strat.

Does anyone know what Alexi's first guitar was?

I'm Charming 02-25-2006 07:21 PM

Why do you name your guitars as if they were your family members? I refer to my Jackson JS30 as my baby. :thumb:

I'm not sure....just always have. And When I'm talking to my mom she likes to know what guitars I'm talking about. If I came up with something like "my RG 075" she would say "The red guitar?"

So I really don't know why I do it I just do

Yes, actually, 24 fret Jacksons do exist because I have multiple posters of them on my walls in my room.

No, those are the only lyrics you hear in the old concert videos. There is a bit more to that song you know. They just played that little bit. The part I put out is the most recognizable part that most people know.
