I try not to label music at all. It ends up being annoying. You like what you like and thats it. The only thing I label is myself a metalhead.

I get up to get some lunch and miss a bunch of stuff. At least it's not going as quickly as it usually does, or I'd be lagging several pages by now.

Well, as an English minor I'm wired to think in terms of genres. Truth be told, subgenres really only exist for nerds like me.

For example, you'd think Horror would be a decent moniker. No need to get further than that right? Wrong, not for us nerds. Not only do we have subgenres, we have sub-sub-genres. Horror begets Gothic Horror, which begets Horror Gothic, Terror Gothic, Female Gothic, and Neo-Gothic.

Horror Gothic is supposed to teach us to understand evil by giving us very explicit illustrations of pure evil (i.e. Dracula by Bram Stoker). Terror Gothic relies on using tension, suspense, and hiding information to make us fear evil (i.e. The Italian by Ann Radcliffe).
