check out coma of souls, prepare to be amazed.
My favorite Kreator album. Though I have a feeling once I get Extreme Aggression, it will be replaced.

So, I just gave The Antichrist a second listen all the way through. And I finally can appreciate it, I find it very fun to listen to.

Fucking Slayer! :thumb:

I think the main reason why people don't like newer Slayer is because Kerry King wrote most of the music for the last 2 CD's and Kerry seems to idolize Slipknot and seems to be trying to make Slayer more Slipknot-esque kind of stuff. Which I myself can't really hear. But on GHUA they did tune all the way down to drop B and played some not-so Slayer riffage.

Welcome to the forums.

all shall perish 02-26-2006 10:33 PM

yeah i can kinda get that but its still thrash, i think they just want to try something knew

Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2006 10:33 PM
yeah i can kinda get that but its still thrash, i think they just want to try something knew
Well they're making a new album. Maybe it'll be good. I personally only like 2 or 3 songs on God Hates Us All. Do you have Hell Awaits?
is show no mercy before reign in blood??
Yeah it was their first.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2006 10:43 PM

Hell Awaits is Slayer's best.

Bazarov 02-27-2006 10:53 PM

Mos def 123, and all the junk.

I don't think I'll ever tire of that CD.

EDIT:

Can sometell me the name of the song that Destruction plays at the end of Survive to Die.

I'd say Seasons in the abyss probably. Then maybe Show no mecy then GHUA> Actually i dunno it's too hard to decide.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-02-2006 07:45 PM

Man GHUA is one of their worst.

ATTN Charlie: Cause Of Death > Slowly We Rot

Bazarov 03-02-2006 07:53 PM

I only liked Bloodline and Disciple from GHUA. Even then they weren't that great.

And once again, I'm on a Morbid Saint binge.

Scuba_Steve 03-02-2006 08:08 PM

I'm listening to Heathen's Death by Hanging.

And I was wondering if anyone could recommend any other bands with this sort of guitar playing, it reminds me of old metallica (really tight barely distorted chunk).

I like the thrash bands with more complex rhythm lines instead of just playing things super fast.

And as a sidenote IMO: Show No Mercy was slayer's best.

Bazarov 03-02-2006 08:23 PM

Watchtower I guess... I'm sure Apocalyptic Raids, Freezing Moon or RCA could give you better advice though.

I don't know if it's quite what you're looking for but maybe try Helstar. Nosferatu is the only one I've got but it's really good technical thrash (basically the only technical music I'm very interested in :p) and the playing is really tight.

Too bad we can't upload songs on this forum anymore, it's times like these where it is necessary.

Exodus, Overkill and Testament would be the most obvious. Though you've probably heard them already. If you've hear them already then try Stone, Xentrix and Ulysses Siren.

Yeah Coroner, Watchtower, or Destruction's Release From Agony album would be what you're looking for.

Freezing Moon 03-02-2006 08:39 PM

I was going to recommend Coroner but I figured he'd already know them.

PS. Quote this post.

Indeed!

NP: Obituary - Body Bag.

I was playing Nocturnal - Thrash Attack though. UNHOLY THRASH ATTACK

Freezing Moon 03-02-2006 08:54 PM

Yeah, I like that album a lot.

Scuba_Steve 03-02-2006 09:07 PM

Thanks for the help guys, now my next task will be finding stuff from these bands.

It sucks that most of the really awesome thrash bands aren't still active.

Bazarov 03-02-2006 11:39 PM

Is the band Wehrmacht worth checking out?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-03-2006 12:31 AM

Yeah, they're great crossover. Really fucking fast.

Get Shark Attack.
Blasting-Zone.com: What are your current touring plans?
Cronos: "Quite a lot, actually. We've always believed that people didn't want see VENOM if we didn't have the show. It just seems that so many people's opinions have changed because there are some many places where VENOM has never been. Not all of our fans can travel a thousand ****in' miles to come see us. It just seems so odd that after twenty five years, there a just so many places that we've never even been. It's time for us to open our ears and take in a little bit of what's going on around us. We've got a lot of festival dates lined up and of course we're gonna do all the pyro and the whole shebang, but I think we should also try to do some of these other concerts as well, just to see how it goes. Some kid who can barely afford the price of the ticket can't come a long way to come see us. We're gonna try to get the best of both worlds when it comes to playin' live. One of the things that has been getting' talked about is a tour of the States with VENOM, SLAYER and EXODUS. How cool would that be? When people start talkin' about things like that, things they haven't seen in forever, we're just like, 'Get SLAYER on the phone so we can set it up...'"
