Were having a comp! In some style I forget.... I used chords though...

PaulSimonon 10-06-2004 08:41 PM

Hot****! I just got another bit of Opus Pocus down! I'm starting to think I may actually not suck...!

e p 10-06-2004 09:03 PM

Hey guys.

Good luck in your comp by the way.

Wow.

I just realized that even though I turn 18 in November, I won't be able to vote for the next election because my birthday is 8 days after the polls open.

:upset:

What's up with everyone?

yar....

:amaze: 10-06-2004 09:05 PM

Yeah that's rough ... I get to vote this year.

:amaze:

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:06 PM

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:08 PM

Voting is gonna be so screwed up this year, I can feel it.

Yeah, I registered at school when I was only 17.

I wish we would be an actual democracy when it came to voting for president.

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:09 PM

Same here Paul.

PaulSimonon 10-06-2004 09:10 PM

The electoral college needs to go. It was only instituted because America was undeveloped and uneducated at the time. I think we have advanced far enough to get rid of it....

I agree.

As long as little brother Bush is Governor of Florida.

And Paul, I won't be 18 before the next elections...I'll be 18 eight days after them.

yar

PaulSimonon 10-06-2004 09:13 PM

^^ ignorance shouldn't count..... people can believe whatever they feel, but that doesn't mean it is right.

EDIT: To FUNKNBASS

That's just unfortunate, EP... a time accelerator?

As for the Florida situation, who has seen Farenheight 9/11?

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:15 PM

I saw it in the thearters and I bought the DVD today.

PaulSimonon 10-06-2004 09:16 PM

The DVD is out? I didn't know that. I liked the movie, although it was hard to sort out speculation from facts.

Kandyman 10-06-2004 09:17 PM

Truthfully our society hasnt progressed enough to get rid of the electoral college. As long as people are content to bask in ignorance there will always be a group making decisions for the whole.

:) :upset:

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:17 PM

The DVD came out today. I havent gotten a chance to watch it though.

e p 10-06-2004 09:19 PM

Well also take into consideration the amount of Electoral cotes each state recieves depends on its population. So were the Electoral College disbanded, the candidates would only be concerned with the large states. Who's going to campaign in Rhode Island when you can campaign in New York. This would keep other (and possible more needy) states out of their mind. It works in both good/bad ways.

my arguement in the kerry/bush thread about electoral college

:amaze: 10-06-2004 09:19 PM

I'm out. Night MX.

There is a difference, however, in those who ARE ignorant, an those who CHOOSE ignorance. There is enough resources to not be ignorant in this country, unless you are obscenely poor.

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:20 PM

Good Night Luke.

You do bring up a valid point..... Isn't it possible for those in Rhode Island to go to New York? Aren't there mediums through which they can be swayed? This would be assuming a lot, but still.....

Night Luke.

FUNKNBASS 10-06-2004 09:23 PM

No.

You have to vote in the state you were registered, in this case RI.

Thats why I said that people are content to bask in ignorance. Just because they choose it doesnt make them less ignorant.

I wouldnt want someone who knows nothing about engines fixing mine. I also dont want someone who knows nothing about world politics choosing my next president
