It was a Salvation Army Reserve called Strawberry Fields, and it's also what his memorial site is called.

What does "I Am The Walrus" mean?

Woodstock 11-23-2004 05:17 PM
What does "I Am The Walrus" mean?
The rumor says it was about Paul McCartney's death on, I think, November 6, 1966 in a car accident. The car accident also was rumored to be the first lines of A Day In The Life.

Illmatic 11-23-2004 05:20 PM
God, I wish I knew some people who liked proper old rock music. I know like 2 people. Led Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix, Clapton, Van Halen, Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Queen, all great.
Stop talking.

And can anyone not stand "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who? It never clicked with me...every time I listen to Who's Next I find myself skipping it because it's so whiny and self-absorbed. I can't believe so many talk about it when a gem like "My Wife" (Maybe I'm the only one who loves that song...) flies under the radar completely.

BludgeonySteve 11-23-2004 05:20 PM

That's weird.

I heard that there was a little bit on one of the beatle's album covers that shows paul dying or something. Which one is that? (if it's true at all).
Stop talking.
What brought that on?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-23-2004 05:21 PM

My freinds say at the end the voices say "Everybody smokes pot". In the song "Glass Onion" Lennon says the Walrus was Paul. So......?????

Woodstock 11-23-2004 05:21 PM

His name scared me enough. greenzeppelin182 (shiver)

Lennon does say the Walrus was Paul. The walrus is a symbol of death in Sweden.

jpj 11-23-2004 05:23 PM

Which song is it where it say "Paul is a dead man" when you play it backwards.

I've had it up to here with kids who say "Man, what happened to good rock and roll?" in this topic and bring up the same bands every time without bringing anything intelligent to the conversation.

McCartney death clues

Magical Mystery Tour: Hand over his head(symbol of death)

SGT. Pepper: Hand over his head, a bass made of flowers in the garden

White Album: in the pictures on the inside cover, there is an ugly lifeless head floating in water

Abbey Road: Paul is out of step with the others, there's a hurse and cop car in the background, a VW Beetle's license plate says LMW (Linda My Widow)

Oh alrighty then.

Stagey changed it to say that this is now just a classic rock discussion thread. So I guess there's not need for newb posts.

Hehehe, Paul is the last member* alive. He's expected to die soon anyways. Looks like those were all false.

Yayz. Rep for you.

Woodstock 11-23-2004 05:32 PM

The imposter of McCartney is William Campbell, who won a private McCartney look-alike contest held by the three Beatles.

Trust me, there are whole websites on this stuff.

Oh yeah, hold Magical Mystery Tour up to a mirror, the title reveals a phone number.

At the end of "I am Walrus" there are annoying voices that seem to say "Everybody smokes pot".

Woodstock 11-23-2004 05:36 PM

The Beatles got away with a lot of stuff they shouldn't of.

The song Girl off Rubber Soul, the background singers repeats: Tit, Tit, Tit,...

I thought you went to Mexico........no?

Also on the Abby Road cover one of the licensce plates say IF 28. Because if Paul was still alive he would be 28. That was a evidence before they noticed that Paul was actually 27.

The order was 28 IF

Yeah, but because in India(where the Beatles commonly stayed) once you were born, you were automatically one year old, and that changed the whole number license plate thingy.

Don't even try, Livewired

I rented Spinal Tap tonight, anyone ever seen it?

BludgeonySteve 11-23-2004 06:17 PM

I've listened to enough of my friends practicly pissing themselves while discussing it to get a main idea. You're in for a treat.

*finally got Piper At The Gates Of Dawn* woo.

Woodstock 11-23-2004 06:20 PM

Yeah, I've seen it before, but I just wanted to remind people of it's greatness.

My dad has PATGOD on vinyl.

Most of you should change yours. I've seen a few regulars in the Jam Band thread with one or two of those.

Revolution number 9 backwards sounds like he is saying turn me on deadman.
At the end of Strawberry fields forever people thought he was saying i buried Paul when he was actually saying Cranberry Sauce
Paul is in a "coffin" on the Yesterday and Today cover
Paul head touches without you on back of Sgt. Pepper and George is pointing at Wednesday Morning at 5 o'clock, the time that paul died
Billy Shears is supposed to be Bill's here meaning William "Billy" Campbell, Paul's replacement
He blew his mind out in a car from A day in the life
but the funniest one i think is when John says "the walrus was paul" in Glass Onion, people sayed that awalrus was a symbol of death in some scandinavian culture, which is of course totally false.
(These are just a few there are many more)
