I wanted that Starbug! But my mum sucks at these things :(
Well the special edition cost something like £4 more, but my retarded fanboyism of Red Dwarf rivals that of mine for The Wildhearts, so I paid it.

Back To Reality's an awesome episode, anyway. The fascist cop is so cool.

Hey, I was just wondering who is that in your avatar?

Arucard 12-27-2004 01:55 PM

Live at Budokan = Gods own cd.
I cant belive i never listened to DT before this, i guess the mindless fanboys put me off.

Irony++

munky_magik 12-27-2004 02:23 PM

ahh...shame on you sir :p
I got it for Christmas but I've only watched the first few tracks, needless to say it's amazing. I find it so hard to believe anyone can play so well as Petrucci.
The one thing that surprised me is that Rudess is now bald :amaze:

Yes it is.

Bartender 12-27-2004 02:50 PM

I'm not such a great fan of Dream Theater, but I rather like the live footage of them I've seen (I have the Live Scenes From New York DVD). Even though I'm not so keen on Scenes From a Memory, it's cool to see them performing, especially when they stray from the script somewhat (for example, the bonus footage of them playing A Change of Seasons, though it helps that it's ACOS anyway).

munky_magik 12-27-2004 02:56 PM

I missed that he said cd :upset:

Scenes From a Memory is their best stuff though, isn't it? It seems to be all my friends favorite one.

Bartender 12-27-2004 02:59 PM

I don't know, I'm not much of a fan, like I said. I like A Change of Seasons, and then a few random songs, but beyond that not much does it for me. Scenes.. does seem to be a popular one, though.

munky_magik 12-27-2004 03:01 PM

I think SFAM is most peoples preffered DT material because it's not excessively DT if you know what I mean. A few of the songs divide up the progage into smaller doses so that people can deal with it better.
Well...at least that's what I think

Yeah I prefer Vai or Satriani over Dream Theater though I like some of DT stuff.

Out of all of them I prefer Vai the most. To me his music is the most interesting and he doesn't confine himself to a particular style
Satch writes some great music, but all his music is in one particular style and that gets boring.
DT are good for amazing riffage, great technicality, and mind melting keyboard and Guitar runs.

EDIT: I really need to learn to type and/or read my posts before posting them :upset:

This one site said it had 'Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' available if you waited for a month or so, but I doubt they do.

I ordered it anyway.
