The New Yorkers got identical treatment.

EDIT: No more stars. :(
Why? :(
haha , just to let you know, I apologize for the previous pages on this thread. My brother logged on because I was making fun of his precious loser band (won't say) He changed my avater to some neon crap. That wasn't me! He's done that to me in here before. He put a picture of some chick as my avatar and tried saying it was me a while back. It's all FALSE!
Liar! You know I'm kidding..

Rep was disabled for good earlier this month, and now the last traces that it ever existed--namely, the stars for users who recieved enough reputation--have been expunged.

Darkness 01-25-2006 11:51 PM

Oh yeah.. I noticed my rep was gone.. damn. Oh well.

Kaiwaz 01-25-2006 11:55 PM

Cain, what's your current Opeth album of choice?

=-fukifiknow-= 01-26-2006 12:24 AM

MY current favorite is probably still life... but it really all depends on what mood i'm in...

gmoneyguy 01-26-2006 12:30 AM

I just ordered Damnation. I love their mellow stuff.

Kaiwaz 01-26-2006 12:30 AM

For me it seems to be what season it is depending on what Opeth album I am listening to the most. I Listen to Blackwater Park in autumn, Still Life during winter, Orchid and My Arms, Your Hearse in the spring and Morningrise, Deliverance and Damnation in the summer. Ghost Reveries is still pending.

Yes, that album is really good. I am so glad they produced it. Although, it would of been so much better with Deliverance in a double disk!

I'm sure they have material in mind, but as far as the writing process, I'm not sure.

Avater = Chuck Schuldiner. :chug:

mikael looks incredibly stoned. as does andres frieden for that matter

has anybody read that in new york, chicago and LA they will be performing w/out support and perform music chronilogically from all their albums, with a promised no less than FOUR never before performed on us soil songs...

/poorly written... but kickass

Cain 01-26-2006 12:39 AM
Cain, what's your current Opeth album of choice?
It's a tie between MAYH and Still Life. I'm not really listening to any of the others right now.

Friden has a beard like Jake Plummer  Yeah, they look pretty wasted.

I've been listening to Still Life a lot lately, just starting to get more into MAYH. I love Credence so much. The end of that song puts me into a trance. That acoustic riff along with solo repeated leads into Karma so abrupt. I love it.

oohhhh i know exactly what your talking about... that part and the ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh in the begining of Karma are my two favorite opeth moments as of now

''Displaying the once unknown ...Karma...'' then the outro. That outro is one of my favorite Opeth moments by a long shot. :)

=-fukifiknow-= 01-26-2006 01:45 AM

^oh for sure... EVERYTIME i hear it jump into that riff i head bang harder than i will for anyother song

Kaiwaz 01-26-2006 03:03 AM

I can't believe that opening is so heavy with those chords, it's insane. They're borderline jazz chords.

Deth 01-26-2006 11:20 AM

I really like the AHHHHH chorusy vocals on Karma and April Ethereal. Actually, I love the whole album :p.

Darkness 01-26-2006 11:21 AM

Yeah, that album needs to be talked about a little more.

I think I'll pop it in right now... right after Spirit Crusher...

Jude 01-26-2006 11:48 AM

The main riff on April Ethereal is ****in nuts.

Neoteric 01-26-2006 12:32 PM

I got Blackwater Park and I loved it straight away but I can't get into Still Life :(

JamJar 01-26-2006 12:37 PM
I got Blackwater Park and I loved it straight away but I can't get into Still Life :(
I got into that album really easily. It's great really. When you do get into it, you won't be able to stop listening to it for a while.

i am the robots 01-26-2006 12:43 PM

Still Life is probably my favorite... that or My Arms, Your Hearse... after my first listens to Blackwater Park and Still Life (I got them both the same day) Blackwater Park was definately my favorite... but then it wore off... it's amazing at first, but Still Life is more timeless.... both kick ass though... every Opeth album does.

MidnightRider 01-26-2006 02:16 PM

I got BWP first and it was my favorite for quite a while. I would put The Drapery Falls on repeat before bed every night. :) Overall, I think Still Life is better though.

i am the robots 01-26-2006 02:32 PM

Yeah, Midnight Rider has it right :).

EDIT: I used to do that with The Drapery Falls... Harvest as well.

JamJar 01-26-2006 02:43 PM

I think everyone did because I used to aswell.

i am the robots 01-26-2006 02:45 PM

Yeah, I think Blackwater Park is the best introduction to Opeth for a new listener...
