Wow, crazy Americans. I've never ever seen a bartender checking an ID. Or a cop in or near a bar, for that matter.

I have been kcicked out of many bars because they asked for my ID.
Yeah, it's totally different in Europe. Alcohol is very easy for you guys to get ahold of. Actually, it has been anywhere but here. I mean, it's not that hard here, but harder than just walking into a store/bar to get it. Most stores check IDs unless you look 40+, as a general policy. But when I've gone to shows they always ask if I'm drinking heh. Too bad it's so pricey there.

Ya dude. Total fag.
Yeah, you just go buy it in the supermarket if you want a bottle of liquor, they'll never check it, even if they do, you could always say it's for your parents or something.

My girlfriend's little brother went with us to a pub once, and he got a beer just like the rest of us, and he must have been 13 at the time. Okay, he looks a bit older than that, but still. Bartenders really don't care.

Rebel or a little baby who's not old enough for a little beer lol!

The only time I got kicked out I was like 12, and my friend and I were going to a hockey game, but his dad wanted to grab a beer. They kicked us out though :(

Since growing the beard I have never been ID'ed.

What's even funnier is people ID'ing you at movies though lol
Yeah, you just go buy it in the supermarket if you want a bottle of liquor, they'll never check it, even if they do, you could always say it's for your parents or something.

lol. Some states don't even let grocery stores sell alcohol. If you're underage though there's no good excuse :-\ My uncle worked at a grocery store for like 20 years, and he forgot to ID someone who happened to be underage, they found out and he lost his job :-\

Yeah, Europe is a lot more chill than America :(

Nostalgia 02-03-2006 02:18 PM

I got a cheaper dinner at a resturant becaue they thought I was 10 years old, I was around... 12 at the time but still. Meh, it relates kinda close to bar stories.

Jev 02-03-2006 02:20 PM

I've never really tried to do anything above my age limit but my mate gets served all the time. He's 16 and I guess the stubble makes him look really old.

I get that in the cinema sometimes, but those are just bastards who ask everyone for an ID. Movies are either 16+ or all ages over here, and I sure as hell don't like 15.

Luckily I can get discount with my student card at the cinema I go to most and my age is on that too, so they'll know how old I am, anyway.

There's this other one who don't accept student cards though, and the funny thing is that if they can charge you more for being an adult, all of a sudden they don't need ID anymore.

For some reason my facial still hasnt fully come in. I can grow a mustache goatte and side burns. Even then they are really thin.

My friend has mumps.
How do you catch mumps?

Hahaha, you get ID'ed for 16+ movies? Wow. I thought it was embarassing getting ID'ed for 17+ movies when I was 16 :-\ I'm rarely ID'ed now, if ever.

Ah, yeah, I always just say "student" and never actually show the ID lol. They never ask either. I'm keeping that in mind for the future when I'm not <_< We don't have ages on IDs, but, eh, if you're at uni you should be at least 17.

Hahaha, yeah. Money is more important than being legal.
For some reason my facial still hasnt fully come in. I can grow a mustache goatte and side burns. Even then they are really thin.

My friend has mumps.

Mumps is a viral infection spread by airborne droplets from the nose or throat.

My ninja google skillz. It's also caught by close contact

Jev 02-03-2006 02:26 PM

I see. I'm not going near him.

Nostalgia 02-03-2006 02:27 PM

How long has he had it? it's contagious for about a week.

Jev 02-03-2006 02:29 PM

He came into school with it on Wednesday. It got diagnosed today. It could make him Sterile

Nostalgia 02-03-2006 02:31 PM

It's strange that he has it now, it's usually caught when you're a child, around the age of two I guess.

Doctor Night 02-03-2006 02:32 PM

I got it when I was 4.

Stoic 02-03-2006 02:35 PM

eeww...I've never had any of these diseases.

you get vaccinated against it here in the UK when you're 1. except for people currently aged 13 - 20 or something, the vaccine wasn't strong enough, hence why Happy's mate got it, i guess. you just need a booster MMR vaccine, or just the mumps vaccine.

Jev 02-03-2006 02:44 PM

Yeah I was never vaccinated against it.

Thats not good. Especially if he wants to get married.

Jev 02-03-2006 02:59 PM

He can always adopt. He doesn't seem a great father figure though.

Tyler 02-03-2006 03:12 PM

A little late, but on the topic of ID: I've never been ID'd and I'm only 17, haha.

Jev 02-03-2006 03:15 PM

I've never been ID'd either. Weird.

Tyler 02-03-2006 03:16 PM

I guess some people just look older. Part of the reason I dont get ID is that I'm pretty arrogant (usually it's a joke, but it doesnt come off that way). I just stroll into bars and whatnot. The facial hair doesnt hurt though.

Jev 02-03-2006 03:17 PM

I don't have any facial hair yet :upset:

Seriously, and it's so unsatisfying. I shave and it's smooth for like maybe one day and then the stubble comes back. Seriously, it's easier to just let it grow into a mane sometimes.

Permanent Solution 02-03-2006 03:20 PM

Mine's not even smooth a full day. I shave before work and it's rough after. :-\

Tyler 02-03-2006 03:23 PM

well if I shave at like 9pm, around 12 hours later it's stubble

kurrpt 02-03-2006 03:23 PM

Be happy you get at least a day! Im lucky if I get a full 8 hours. Shaving just causes my razor to make about 40 cuts sporadically over my face, and dry shaving just makes it itch...

i havent shaved for 3 weeks. You should see the growth

Jev 02-03-2006 03:24 PM

I demand pics.

GenuineImitation 02-03-2006 03:26 PM

I hate shaving. I started in 10th grade (15) which I guess is a bit young. I never let it go past a slight stubble though. I have been ID, but only at the movies.

I only have 40 dollars. That can get me about 2 to 3 cds. Should I blow my money, or save it for a rainy day.

I'd blow the money, but that's because I have no sense of when to quit.

I shaved for the first time on my 13th birthday, so I think I win. It was just a really bad teen stashe, but I looked like a goomba, hah.

I started shaving in grade 7.

Shadows 02-03-2006 03:31 PM

I started shaving ingrade 9 or 10, I forget which. I waited too long though, people had been telling me for a year that I was starting to look very...scruffy. They still tell me that, since I only shave every week or so. :p

Jom 02-03-2006 03:31 PM

Okay, I'd like some feedback and general opinions of everyone here:

I was thinking about doing a series in The Pit that would basically be teaching people about something I find interesting, be it about the law, or math, or psychology, or whatever I feel like teaching about. I did one of these before (it was in psychology, regarding the Bem-Androgeny scale), and it kind of took off after the first few posts of "There's no way I care about this." So, I was wondering if you guys would be interested in me continuing it. For example, I could write one here and show you the statistical inner workings of the R&M competitions. Would you guys be cool with this, and maybe even read these little lessons, or what?
