He played superbly until his foot gave in. He'd never played a 5-set match before that one, so I give him credit. And for a wildcard entry, he deserves everything he is getting out of his time in that tournament

That I will agree with. Nintendo always wanted to keep their retro beliefs, and they thought the consumers would want this as well. After the GC, it turns out that they didn't, and consumers wanted better quality machines to play better quality games.

On the topic of Gamecube, I think that it is the best console for having a great time with a small group of friends, although on single player it isn't as good.
I think PS2 is the best console, although I used to prefer XBox, but when I got that I realised how much better PS2 is. I find that PS2 has a lot funner single player games, most of XBox's games are FPS.

The GC hasen't been as popular as the competition, i know but it does
n't mean that it's sh[I]i[/I] t, since the beggining Nintendo have always made amazing games that please all ages. They have invented basically all the things that are now common use in the modern controler, i.e, Shoulder buttons, D-Pad, Analogue stick, rumble etc etc..
They still do make quality games even in the current generation.

Play some games like :
Zelda Wind Waker
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Mario Sunshine
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil 4
Paper Mario 2
F-Zero Gx
Mario Kart DD
Super Monkey Ball
etc...etc

They are some of the GC's library of amazing exclusive games (RE4 not really but w/e), there are much more ands lots of other 3rd party games aswell.

I still like the PS2 and XBOX but the GC is my favourite as i enjoy these games more.
