They were mentioned at some point, but you probably didn't notice because you didn't read all 564 pages.

Can you honestly say that you have read every single post in this thread?

TooToughToDie 11-22-2004 06:27 PM

or motley crue

jpj 11-22-2004 06:28 PM
or motley crue
Not classic rock IMO, you have to be good to be classic.

Badmoon 11-22-2004 06:28 PM
So all the Classic Rock regular have voted the Lemon Song
:amaze:

And I don't know what you'd exactly like.

thickasabrick 11-22-2004 07:19 PM
or motley crue
in order to be classic rock...you have to be able to tell a bass guitar from a six string guitar...and also have to be able to play your bass

nikki sixx could do neither. motley crue had a few hits, but their songs were basically just following the AC/DC format of no feeling or emotion, just sex drugs rock n roll..which gets boring after a few songs.

magicbus 11-22-2004 07:19 PM

I voted The Lemon Song, I don't like Motley Crue, and how do you have 2000 posts??!1?!

thickasabrick 11-22-2004 07:21 PM

Has anyone listened to the entire Pet Sounds album by the Beach Boys?

i've heard so many good things about it i am dying to hear it, i've only heard a few songs from it.

i've tried downloading it with no success, and i wanna hear it before i decide to buy the record or not.
anyone here listen to Simon and Garfunkel? i have one of their records (their greatest hits one) and i absolutely love it. a lot of the songs are live, so its really more of a live album than anything. they are amazing songwriters (well mostly just simon) and their singing is awesome. does anyone know what intervals they use when they sing together to get that really melancholy, lonely sound?
Simon and Garfunkel are excellent folk music, they have great songwriting and voices. My favorite song by them is "Homeward Bound".

i'd have to say Homeward Bound is my favourite too. I like so many songs of theirs its hard to pick though.

I know Paul Simon had a solo career after, did Garfunkel do anything as well?

gmoneyguy 11-22-2004 07:51 PM

Ya, My friend's host mom went to go see him last week.

RockAndRoll 11-22-2004 08:25 PM

I'm not sure what my favourite Simon and Garfunkle song is, I do Like Mrs. Robinson, but I don't know if it's my favourite.

I think Creedence Clearwater is the only one on this site who admires Bob Dylan as much as I do. He truly is amazing:)

And yes, Simon & Garfunkel are cool too. My sister got me into them.

Anyone hear listen to Jefferson Airplane/Starship?

I'm sure I admire Bob Dylan as much as you do...maybe more :amaze:

I listen to Airplane...my record dealer sent me a Jefferson Airplane album (Surrealistic Pillow) and about 10 Jefferson Starship Albums. I decided to listen to them in order, and i still haven't gotten past Surrealistic Pillow. I'm fairly sure Starship can't top what the Airplane had.

how come they changed their name anyway? did Marty leave or something?

Seafroggys 11-23-2004 12:06 PM

I don't quite understand exactly the questions being asked, so I'll just assume

For Drums

time (that I've palyed): 64 months
teacher: private instructor for my first 6 months, old high school band instructor (who was a drummer)
fav guitar model (don't know any really, so I'll pick drums): Sonor Designer
fav guitar company (drums): Sonor
fav amp model (uh....): Peavey!
fav genre: classic rock
fav guitar idol (drum): Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Mitch Mitchell, Bill Ward, Ginger Baker, Ian Paice
fav song to play: Hard to say, but I like grooving to Beatle songs w/o drums in the song, so I can make up whatever I want; I also like playing to Hendrix stuff (Purple Haze, Fire, Watchtower, Angel)

magicbus 11-23-2004 12:10 PM

Jefferson Starship blows. They're like a suck 80's band. Airplane is cool though. I like Surrealistic Pillow too.

This is sadly true :upset:

greenzeppelin182 11-23-2004 01:42 PM

God, I wish I knew some people who liked proper old rock music. I know like 2 people. Led Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix, Clapton, Van Halen, Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Queen, all great.
