So, the cheapest I can find tickets for the Hammersmith gig is around £80. I'm considering getting one, but fuck me, that is a lot of money.
|
Yeah, that's a lot.
Any reason why it's so expensive? |
I have a Zip file of the songs from NOTB onwards, I'll upload it for you.
that would be great, thanks
Yeah, that's a lot. Any reason why it's so expensive?
me thinks its because its dedicated to clive burr /is happy the threads moving again/ |
Yeah, that's a lot.
Any reason why it's so expensive?
All ticket/merchandise/beer money etc...is going to the Clive Burr Trust Fund that they setup. Apparently no-one is getting in for free, not even people with VIP passes. Edit: hxxp://s59.yousendit.com/d.php?id=TM5Y8L9YUNKO2TB9T2B4BP4W0 Hallowed from the Ullevi Show. |
Yeah, that's a lot.
Any reason why it's so expensive?
For the reasons been mentioned, also because It is a pretty small venue for a band like Maiden to be playing, so that would make the price go up. |
Well, wouldn't they raise more money by doing a larger venue for less money?

i think they are doing hammersmith because it was a place they performed at with clive so it has some sort of sentimental value or something like that. |
Iron Maiden are an incredible live act, something which American rock fans and the media are currently being reminded of with Maiden's blistering performances on Ozzfest where fan and media reaction alike has been close to ecstatic!
Now Iron Maiden have just been honoured with the announcement that they will be inducted on the Rock Walk of Fame in Hollywood. All six members of Iron Maiden will have their hand prints immortalized in cement at the honoured ceremony at ROCKWALK which is located at 7425 Sunset Blvd on Friday 19th August at 7pm, when Hollywood Blvd will be closed down for the presentation. Other inductees of Rock Walk include Jimmy Page, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Queen and Jimi Hendrix.
about time |

That is great news. Other news, i've just paid £82 for my ticket to see them at Hammersmith Apollo. It is a lot of money, but this really was a gig I just couldn't miss out on and i'm gonna get there extra early to get right to the front. |
Omg!!

ADRIAN SMITH, DAVE MURRAY AND JANICK GERS WITH STEVE HARRIS hammering out those KILLER basslines and NICKO shaking the ground with that right foot of his. And to top it off nicely BRUCE is up there chanting away.... BEST GUITARISTS EVER!! BEST BASSIST EVER!! BEST BAND EVER!! end |
Oh shi' fanboyism++
Well, over the last few days, due to Ollie, I've been growing into quite a Maiden fan. I am currently learning Aces High on geetar, but I'm struggling with a couple parts of the solos, due to one year of (un)expirience. :p Either way, they're quite the awesome band. :) |
i know this may seem like a stupid question but i've never gotten into iron maiden and just want to know:
just how heavy is their music?
Heavier than hair metal bands like Poison and Whitesnake, but not as heavy as thrash bands like Metallica or Slayer. But they're still really good, regardless of whether or not that's your "thing." |
Prowler is my favorite Maiden song.
|
I just got my first Maiden CD the other day, The Number of the Beast, and it is some really good stuff. Normally I am not into vocals similar to the ones Bruce Dickinson performs, but they fit Maiden perfectly. I'll be checking more albums out in the future, for sure. :)

I think most of us agree that NOTB is one of their weaker albums. Minus Hallowed, of course. |
pice of mind, the X-factor and seventh son are superior to beast... in my eyes at least, after that it gets a litle muddled, hallowed and the title track are exceptions though

brave new world, somewhere in time and powerslave are probably my favourites
