Prowler has one.

Sometimes there aren't really solos but just like an interlude thingy with harmonies (Deja Vu, Flash of the Blade).
oh, weird, i cant remember it... :P

ashman 07-12-2004 04:45 AM

I was watching the metal hammer golden gods award last night, and maiden won best british band, but for some reason there was only dickinson there, but he did say something interesting................He said "I will see you all in a field somewhere next summer...................and thats a promise".

So maybe they will be touring next summer, im already excited.

Ash

Thunder Fingers 07-12-2004 06:44 AM

or maby that was his solo band :p

El_Tel 07-12-2004 07:02 AM

well i see them in december and bruce "promised" that the DoD tour wasnt going to be their last

ashman 07-12-2004 08:51 AM

I also saw 'em, in december and I know they said that, but people were saying that they wasn't going to tour for 2+ yrs.

And I've been talking to people and everyone reckons that they are playing at that festival at donnington. And it is Definitely maiden playing not just bruce (but wasn't Janick apart of bruces solo band? and i thought that adrian helped out also).

Okay so I got Piece of Mind the other day, and I have to ask you, what does Bruce say in the pre-chorus of Die With Your Boots On? Eg.

"If you're gonna die - If you're gonna die
??????????????????? - If you're gonna die"

Thunder Fingers 07-14-2004 04:08 AM

Facsimile 07-14-2004 04:19 AM

im pretty shure thats what he says...

Facsimile 07-15-2004 05:44 AM

So here's a question to bump the thread off the sixth page:

Are the Iron Maiden albums you own the originals, or are they the re-released ones that are Enhanced CDs with the computer program on them?

ashman 07-15-2004 10:52 AM

I have all the enhanced ones.......I want the original CDs tho. But I do own all the Albums from Iron Maiden to Sevength on LP (except NOTB, I can't find it anywhere). I have two Sevength son LPs one is the bog standard plain one and the other is the picture one.

Maiden have songs without solos, wich have been replaced with an instrumental part, and i belive that running free are one of them... and genghis kahn..

and you mind to change your undertitle? :thumb: :p

Orion7 07-15-2004 01:26 PM

I'm just getting into Iron Maiden and have only heard a few of their songs, but what I have heard f'in ROCKS! :thumb: But I thought I would go to you Maiden experts to ask where I should get started with my Maiden cd collection. I'm not really into Greatest Hits collections or burning cds, so I wanted to know what albums I should buy first to start off the collection. Thanks dudes.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-15-2004 01:31 PM

To get a good feel for the "classic" sound of Iron Maiden get "the number of the beast" first, my favourite albums are "somewhere in time" "brave new world" and "seventh son of a seventh son" but "the number of the beast was the one that got me hooked". :) we WILL get you obessed with this band! haha

Thunder Fingers 07-15-2004 01:32 PM

just buy any of their albums, their all great..

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-15-2004 01:36 PM

well, i started off with "no prayer for the dying" and "fear of the dark" as my first two Maiden cds (IMO the weakest with Bruce) and didnt get really hooked onto them until i heard "the number of the beast". I still have a real soft spot for "no prayer" and listen to it more than most of the Maiden albums because it was my first, but i wouldnt say its the best introduction to the band. Also, if you've never heard Maiden before and start off with something from Blayze's years he might never get into them, as alot of people do not enjoy his era as much. still, every Maiden album is great but not all are perfect to start with.

Thunder Fingers 07-15-2004 02:18 PM

i find the song "No prayer for the dying" wonderful to listen to, and NPFTD is actualy one of my fav albums... along with VXI...

YDload 07-15-2004 02:38 PM

I have "Number of the Beast," "Piece of Mind," and "Powerslave." The best stuff to start with, and I'm going in order too.

i started to read through this board page by page and then realized theres a miraculous 56 ****ing pages. It's good to see my all time favorite band has such a following. I'm getting a job soon and after i upgrade my guitar rig all my money goes straight to maiden cd's as all i can listen to now are mp3s. im probably going to buy piece of mind and power slave first. any objections?

freeman_iwish 07-16-2004 05:28 AM

haha, i went to see maiden last december at manchester MEN, frigging awesome, and harris is a big thing for me, being a bass player (or trying to be)

mr snrub 07-16-2004 07:05 AM

maiden rule over any other band. favourite albums - x-factor, fear of the dark and dance of death. favourite songs no more lies, fear of the dark, fotunes of war and running free.

Hello, I started this thread. I'm on a different account now though.

The irony of me starting this thread is that I didn't even like IM when I made this thread.

But I like them now.
