It's a complex book, but hhere's a basic outline can be found here:

Written by Philip K. Dick, who is one of my favourite authors. My english project was based on this book. That plot outline is really basic though, there's so much depth to this. I don't like science fiction, but Philip K. Dick is nothing like most of the cheesy sci-fi crap I've read, there's always something mysterious and always some real meaning (usually about human nature, morality, what's real/fake, metaphysics, etc) underlying his novels. Even if you HATE sci-fi, I highly recommend it.

If you've ever seen the film Blade Runner, that's based (very loosely) on this book. And obviously this band totally lifted the title, which is only cool if they're good.
