I've never heard of that one. It does sound very punk, there's obvious keyboard, and that kind of sounds like Alexi, but...probably a cover off of an EP or single or something. I think Alexi's screaming in Finnish.

Shattered_Future 07-08-2005 11:18 AM

Sweetness...demos.

Any reason why they're so short though?

EDIT: Nevermind...just bad sound quality. :)

Yeah, i'm pretty sure it's Finnish. Cool song though.

O I like it. My collection of Bodom recordings is now complete since Something Wild and Tokyo Warhearts are being shipped to me as we speak. I managed to find a new copy of Tokyo Warhearts imported from Finland for only $17.

I'm sure that song is a cover. It's pretty cool, but it really doesn't sound like something they'd write and record for a CoB album. Even The Nail isn't that punk.

Yeah. The punk scene in Finland is a lot like that.

Huber 07-08-2005 11:33 AM

I need Something Wild to complete my Bodom collection. I could also go for a new version of HCDR. I ripped it to my iPod without testing it, gave the CD to my friend, and then the ripped files were corrupt.

Dude, the Something Wild Special Edition is over $20. I was looking for it yesterday - surprisingly expensive.

flamesofbodom 07-08-2005 12:31 PM

Did you get it off amazon? Unless you got it used like I did with Tokyo Warhearts...

If the deluxe edition is worth it, for sure. I'm willing to buy any CD as long as it's worth actually owning.

It's not worth the extra money for just a few covers/bonus tracks. If they were really good songs than maybe, but I recommend just buying the standars version for $15 or less.

AA-12 07-08-2005 01:15 PM

No CD is worth $20 to me...

I download too much I guess though :-\

I buy CDs when I have the cash, and I have enough music that I want to keep me occupied downloading and buying forever, so it's not like ther are losing my money.

Unless it's like a 2 disc album, I wouldn't buy one for 20 bucks either.

AA-12 07-08-2005 01:25 PM

I usually buy like 2-3 CD's a month. Download wise I get a lot.

Shattered_Future 07-08-2005 01:34 PM

I used to buy a cd almost every week...

Then my funds got drained for other stuff...haven't bought a cd in like a month. Last one i bought was Reckoning Night by Sonata Arctica.

Shadows 07-08-2005 01:59 PM

I also used to buy several CDs a week...

Then I took up guitar and my bank account drained even faster.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-08-2005 02:39 PM

I still get about 5 cd's a week, im up to around 1200 now,the majority classic rock and symphonic power metal...at age 21 thats not bad lol. and Yes, Children of Bodom gets ALOT of playing time :)

Wow, thats a lot of cd's. Do you have all the CoB albums?

vashts80 07-08-2005 04:02 PM

Nobody's answered my question yet :(

On the Passage to the Reaper guitar lesson video, what song do they play at about 11;23 in? That rhythm riff owns

Yeah, me too. always tell them I can never have too many CDs and then try and explain how long it's been since I last boguht one. When I get a car I'll never be home.

I can't confirm anything, but I've been told it's a Sinergy song.

VERY IMPORTENT EDIT: I've just completely redone my Something Wild review. Everyone head over to it and post to boost my morale.
i dont like something wild to much, not nearly as good as other 3
Yeah, I don't like it as much as the others but it is still great.

Shadows 07-08-2005 07:20 PM

Thanks for the cool comments guys. I know most people prefer their newer stuff, but I love Something Wild. First Bodom album I ever had.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-08-2005 08:21 PM

I was beginning to be fonder of Hatebreeder than Follow the Reaper when I first got it; I couldn't stop listening to it...it was just so good. But I put Follow the Reaper in the other day and listened to the entire album and it reminded me that it was my favorite.

I got a scare though; at the end of Everytime I Die and the beginning of Mask of Sanity the CD was skipping really bad. Really skipping. I freaked out and put the head cleaner in, but it didn't help much. So, yeah. it sucks. I was able to clean the CD a bit, and it only skips a little, but I still have to fast forward to when it doesn't skip anymore. Grr.

flamesofbodom 07-08-2005 08:22 PM

Get one of those disc cleaners that takes a scratches off the cd. What it does is it takes a whole layer off the disc since there arent any marks on the lower layers
Get one of those disc cleaners that takes a scratches off the cd. What it does is it takes a whole layer off the disc since there arent any marks on the lower layers
Oh, will that stop the skipping?

Shadows 07-08-2005 08:25 PM

I have a Skip DR. It works pretty well. It doesn't really make the disc look any cleaner but it stops the skipping pretty nicely. If you're cleaning it by hand than make sure to use water on the disc and wipe it outward from the center.

flamesofbodom 07-08-2005 08:26 PM

Yes to both above posts

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-08-2005 08:41 PM
i dont like something wild to much, not nearly as good as other 3
I agree, but some songs on there like "the nail" and "in the shadows" are ****ing brilliant. Jaska drums to "deathmealish" on it lol.

Shattered_Future 07-08-2005 09:18 PM

DTPP, excellent review...you just screwed up the part where you wanted to italicize. Otherwise, it was spot on.

I actually listened to some Bodom for the first time in 3 months today...it confirmed my love of the song Bodom After Midnight. 2nd favorite song off of FTR.

flamesofbodom 07-09-2005 09:57 AM

Whats your first

Thanks for the compliments. It usually means a little more coming from people who truly love the band. I'll fix the italic error and I should have a Follow the Reaper review up later today.

Shattered_Future 07-09-2005 10:57 AM

^ Sweetness.

I am currently working on...a Creed review. :p

Creed's a shameless pleasure of mine...first band i ever really got into, and they are a lot more talented than most people give them credit for.
