Anyone know a site with good Streetlight tabs? I want to play Point/Counterpoint with some people at my school's next talent show, but MX is down and I don't really know of any other respectable sites.
Well I'm gonna assume that you play guitar, and for the guitar parts the chords for the entire thing are just A, D, A, E, A, D, A, E, etc... all the way through. Play open chords, slightly slower for the intro and then turn them into "barré" ( or "ska" ) chords for the rest, I'm fairly certain that there are no other chords but the ones I mentioned, although the E is played an octave higher when barré'd, if I'm wrong then I just have faith in you to work out the rest of the chords.

Congrats on 1000th post, by the way.

I've posted that link for about 20 people and people still ask where to get tabs.

albert_bass 01-01-2006 05:08 PM

Yeah, I know. What can you do, start a massive campaign to show people how to use google?

Liebensaft 01-01-2006 05:10 PM

There should be some announcement just saying to use 911tabs.

Last time I saw Streetlight, their drummer was like "Hey haven't I seen you at like 6 of our shows?" I was thinking 'hey that's pretty cool he remembers me....oh god maybe I go see that band too much.'

I was wrong, you can't see that band too much. I see the error of my ways now. I'm just glad they're not coming back anytime soon, cus I've run out of money for tickets/travel/merch.....No actually I wish they were coming back. I'd sell a couple of kidneys or something if I needed the cash that bad.

albert_bass 01-01-2006 05:28 PM

I wish they came to Spain at least one ****ing time in my life. I don't think they're coming this year.

I envy you. I've never seen them and I really want to.

What do you guys think about One cool guy?
I have only heard "from Downtown" but I think it is quite awesome.
Reminds me of a ska'ish Beasty Boys.

They are an awesome band.

Jessizzle 01-01-2006 06:44 PM

I have yet to hear one cool guy. I should check them out soon.

Brain Toad 01-01-2006 06:51 PM

I have From Downtown on soulseek, Jess. Peter has Seven Inches of OCG.

I went there for the first time today. The tabs I looked at, atleast 75% were the same, and to top it off they were wrong.

jettadude77 01-02-2006 11:30 AM

i use http://www.ultimate-guitar.com now that mxtabs.net is down. it is a solid tabs site... news, tutorials, reviews, etc.

Yeah but as far as I know they have every major tab site on the web, or almost every one, so if you don't find it there you won't anywhere, unless it's on personal pages.

True, but all of mx's tabs aren't there, which sucks. Cause they had the most correct, and different tabs.

Lukeh 01-03-2006 10:29 AM
Cause im cool i use horntabs.com
I <3 horntabs.com so much, it saves me so much time and effort. Before I my friends and I used to literally spend hours just transposing tabs from C to Eb, etc...

*whines* Arrrr I want one!... stupid living in England-ness... I expect I'll just buy some fabric paint and make some stuff myself. Anyone want me to post up some BOTAR stencils I've been working on in the DIY thread?

DaveToopes 01-03-2006 12:53 PM

I do, post away!

Lukeh 01-03-2006 12:54 PM

Rightey-ho, lemme just find somewhere to host 'em first and they'll be available for y'all...

DaveToopes 01-03-2006 01:01 PM

Super!

Lukeh 01-03-2006 01:06 PM

I've posted the link in the DIY thread for people there, here it is for anyone who may miss it, though.

I believe a few people have been using the stencils I made a while back, I'll just find em innit
http://www.scuffedculture.net/botarstencils.htm
they're all massive because I enlarged them for detail and thought it'd be helpful for other people to have the same.

DaveToopes dude, a few of my mates have ordered from the Risc Store and it's come over ok. You obviously can't at the moment, though, seeing as it's down. I want stuff, but I have made my own instead. I will link to some pictures of that, I've made a few shirts for myself, and I have sold a couple....

Woah, bloody hell... those pictures are so awesome, I love the quality of that bomb with the 3 different colours. And that link is probably my saviour, too.

Wow, those shirts are very good.

Jas 01-03-2006 02:57 PM

Thanks a lot guys :) The one with the 3 colour bomb is actually one I sold.
My favourite is the one with "The revolution will not be amplified" on it, but I didn't fix the paint right (gotta make mistakes to learn) and when I washed it the green top layer faded supremely. Looks kinda cool now, but I thought it looked awesome when I first did it.

Liebensaft 01-03-2006 02:58 PM

That bomb one was great. That was worthy of being sold, for sure.

tappenzee 01-03-2006 04:33 PM

Late pass me if this has been asked already in this thread, but does anyone know what the name "Streetlight Manifesto" means or where it came from?

Just curious

OCG's awesome. I've also only heard "From Downtown," but I listen to it a lot.

What else do they have in terms of albums?

Closest thing would be Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. Probably someone else knows better than me though.

I hung out with those guys a bunch of times. Nicest guys you could ever meet. Weirdly enough, my sister was friends with the bassist and my ex-girlfriend was in the school marching band with them. Apparently they're a bunch of band geeks from Union. I mean that in the nicest way possible though.

DaveToopes 01-03-2006 08:02 PM

That's awesome!

antiflagsetsfire 01-04-2006 07:53 AM

Just saw catch 22 with Big D and two local bands. They were kinda disapointing, i had too high expectations
