AHHH. EVerytime i watch the dvd I always make fun of people in the crowd. Have you guys seen the girl going crazy with her arms behind Brandon during the beginning of circles?
On the topic of that scene on the After Sessions dvd, are you talking about when he was laying on the ground and the security guy came over? I'm pretty sure they were pretending he got beat up and pissed on. |
to resist is to piss in the wind lol.
can somebody tell who's face is the one that appears on the science album , who is that guy |
brandon's dad

Can someone recommend me some of their lesser known, "rockier" songs. I always have found Incubus intriguing, though I have never quite liked the songs I heard. :)

On the newest album (A Crow Left Of The Murder), you can try: 01. Megalomaniac 02. A Crow Left Of The Murder 06. Sick, Sad Little World 10. Zee Deveel As far as I'm concerned their newer stuff is much more rock, whereas their older work leans more towards metal. |

I said "rockier" because their popular songs(ie singles) are mostly real soft stuff. |
Or funk metal?
Let's not start that debate again. They aren't funk metal, although they were definitely metal. Funk was one of their many influences, the list of which includes hip-hop and traditional Chinese folk music as well.
Any news on a new Incubus album peeps?
The boys are recording it right now (or very soon), as I have it. I can't wait to see in what direction their music is growing.
Well, actually the more metal stuff sounds more interesting.
OK then, try Nice To Know You, Circles and Under My Umbrella off of Morning View; Privilege and Make Yourself off of Make Yourself; and Favourite Things and Vitamin off of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. |
Check out glass, redefine, new skin, certain shade of green, deep inside and nowhere fast also.

sorry this is back from the posts on pg 46
That's him, I believe. Brandon and him have done at least one interview together before. |
how bout this...the guy is an incubus...he's the only one they could get a picture of to represent the band name and thats the untold story that i just made up...so you heard it first here folks. now...lets dance
|
He's way too ugly to be an incubus. Unless that's his true demonic form.
Aqueous Transmission must be one of the most chilled-out songs ever written. |

Can you guys recommend me any acoustic rock on that level of chillness? Not Jack Johnson-style stuff, he's pretty lively for acoustic rock. I'm thinking reaaally doped-out James Blunt. Or something. I'd compare what I'm looking for to Fokofpolisiekar's Monoloog In Stereo but you probably don't know them. |
i dont think ANYTHING gets that level of chillness
check out Minus the Bear though...i've been whoring them like a free (decent looking) hooker |

I love the songs Megalomaniac, Circles, and Echo.
I love the songs Megalomaniac, Circles, and Echo.
Echo is brilliant. Covered it once for a school acoustic gig. Or I would have if my BASSIST AND DRUMMER HAD SHOWN UP. So I got my other two buddies to help me out, and we were forced to play what we know: Time Is Running Out and Where Is My Mind. :upset: |
i'll be your bassist dude haha...call me Dirk Kenney haha cause i rock the incubus like no other...
i just got the String Quartet albums and they are freakin phenom...i put my headphones and my brain is filled with audioexstatica. im downloading the Tool ones now some good tracks for those who download, get : "drive", "are you in", "pardon me" and "i miss you" they're all good those are what im diggin the most now |

Is this general Incubus recommended listening or are you talking about the String Quartet versions? If the latter, point me to a link as my ISP blocks P2P software, scaly bastards. For some reason, no-one in South Africa plays bass. I'm in a big-*** boys' school (1200 pupils), and yet I know of 5 guys in the ENTIRE school who play bass. (And none of them like Radiohead or Incubus.) |

Erm... No. They won't. I've tried. |
Woooowwww.
My sax teacher just lent me his copy of the string quartet's tribute to Incubus. Their version of Circles... That "cheap speaker" effect on the intro violin is beautiful. And Sound Boy, about your earlier post - Priceless is my favourite track on ACLOTM. I just didn't include it because I don't think it should be forced listening, Incubus just don't do that kind of thing anymore. That dub breakdown is amazing though. The way the guitar and the... erm... effect thing and the bass and the drums layer, it's mind-blowing. And you gotta love the funky guitar. One day, I want to play in a band that sounds like that breakdown. We'll be called "Junk" and we'll play jungle-funk all day long. |
They're my second favourite band and i just love their music. I got , S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself and Morning View. I love thier older, funkier, heavier stuff but also reallly enjoy their lighter, acousticy songs.
