recently, yes.
So I don't do any modding of any sort.. don't close threads or take care of any business around the site. Interesting.... Cause it is news to me.
yes, considering this is the bass forum
And don't you think it is nice to get to know each other than just bass players? If you don't, then that is on you.
Things change, get over it. If you dont like how things are now then you dont have to stay
And the same thing could be said to you
yeah, sure. You've done a bit, answered questions etc. I just find it funny how other people here can answer questions and still write up a tonne of lessons though.
Just a bit? Jesus.. I've done more than a bit for this forum and for this entire board. You think all changes and re-arranging... getting a resources section, and a beginner section.. was done just because? No, I did that. Along with Whodo and Madthumbs. And the Bass Forum archives.. you might remember that.. I put that together, with many of the archives linking to my threads.. which might be considered lessons or articles. But they are in the resources section.
Sorry for missing the thread labeled "Bass compilation CD, why it's not happening". I must have missed that one.
It wasn't a Bass compliation CD. It was for the entire forum. Quite frankly, one of the reasons why it didn't come through is that all people wanted to do was submit their songs... and be done with it.... I couldn't get a hold of half the people for information that I needed... and only a few offered to help me. But guess what.. it didn't happen.

I love people who bitch about what I might have not done, and forget anything I have done already.

RJDBass 07-26-2004 08:01 PM
Let me change that. You're now THE only person I know from Illinois :p I know people from Illinois that use MXTabs but no one that's active on the forums.
south suburbs right here

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:02 PM

To Light Raven: I don't like to take sides, but in all honesty, I like the Casual Threads that you have started, Light Raven :) The normal threads are sometimes filled with idle chatter, but not everyone has YIM or AIM and gets to talk, or if they do have it, not everyone feels like talking to people or knows each others' screen names. :)

To RJDBass: which suburbs? Just curious :p

RJDBass 07-26-2004 08:07 PM

orland park

Ruhtra 07-26-2004 08:07 PM

Quite honestly, I probably wouldn't stick around here if it weren't for this thread. I read most of the other threads here on, but I'm not very knowledgable, so I don't respond to them. This thread gives me a reason to stay and be active and not just a lurker.
south suburbs right here
And before you know it, we 3 will take over!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :naughty:

... or not...

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:12 PM

There's always so much drama in the bass forum...

The casual thread gives everyone a chance to, not only find out information on fellow bass members, but it gives us a chance to get away from bass bass bass talk, which can get old after awhile... (please don't shun me..)

So everyone should stop the fighting and just pick up their bass and go to town...

:chug:

In all honesty, I can talk for bass endlessly. However, I'm not as knowledgeable as a buncha people on the bass forums, so I like the casual threads too :)

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:20 PM

I agree with you on nonstop bass talk Foxfire... but when people keep posting threads that have been posted a million times over... it can be kinda of repetitive and boring

ShelBel 07-26-2004 08:21 PM

*runs in*

*shakes butt*

*runs out*

HELLO EVERYONE!

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:22 PM

To Jammin: Amen! The pit is like...I dunno...TOO casual? I don't particularly like it there. The Politics forum I find rather interesting, though.

Ruhtra 07-26-2004 08:26 PM

I like lurking around and reading the topics so I can gain a little more knowledge, but being a full-time lurker sucks, so a casual topic keeps me around.

As for bass talk, like I said, I am not knowledgable... at all, so I don't like to talk about it. I like to listen/read about it, but not talk it... yet...

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:28 PM

Yeah.. I really don't venture out into other forums that much, I like to stay focused on one group so i can get to know everyone without having the hassle of going back and forth through so many different threads

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:30 PM

Sometimes I believe that I am more knowledgeable than my bass teacher on certain things. Then again I spend a good chunk of my time on here.

Example: When he was like "I wonder what kinda sound maple makes as a body..."..bam I told him :p Then I started babbling about how I'd like a bubinga/ovangkol body with a flamed koa top and back, with a purpleheart/wenge fretboard and neck...he was like "What the ****?"

:D

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:33 PM

hahaha.. yeah, being on here awhile has really made me more knowledgable about bass and bass theory and what not... I like impressing people as well with the bass jargon that many poeple have no clue about

PaulSimonon 07-26-2004 08:34 PM

^^^^I actually understood that Foxfire! my fretless has a wenge neck

Today was a long day..............I'm already tired

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:36 PM

Ehh...I wish I was tired. Sorta. I think...

I'm watching Anime and talking to a girl that hates me o_O

Ruhtra 07-26-2004 08:38 PM
Ehh...I wish I was tired. Sorta. I think...

I'm trying to talk to a girl I think hates me now...

And my mom is watching the Cubs game.

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:39 PM

haha.. the things you do when you're bored..

PaulSimonon 07-26-2004 08:39 PM
talking to a girl that hates me o_O
as am I, although she rejected me. Twice. And doesnt remember it.

ShelBel 07-26-2004 08:39 PM

So if she hates you, why are you talking? I don't get it. Why inflict that kind of silliness on yourself?

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:39 PM

Cubs. :( They were soooo good last year...I'm angry at the guy who screwed them up but I mean, I woulda done the same thing, I'm sure...

Foxfire 07-26-2004 08:40 PM
So if she hates you, why are you talking? I don't get it. Why inflict that kind of silliness on yourself?
Well, she's my ex. And I'd like to honor the fact that she made me extremely happy at one point.

And I have decided that girls in my generation and under it SUCK. Really bad. Older girls = teh pwn.

PaulSimonon 07-26-2004 08:41 PM

I'm not a big baseball fan. I am, however, I huge hockey fan. Unfortunately, I am a Blackhawks fan. D'oh!

JamminOnMyGstring 07-26-2004 08:41 PM

I know.. it pisses me off.... Sammy is playing like dirt.

But at least Boston beat the Yankees.. YAY!
Thats a yes then..... You play for a team?
No, i can't ice skate for my life. :( I play street hockey now and then though.
I'm not a big baseball fan. I am, however, I huge hockey fan. Unfortunately, I am a Blackhawks fan. D'oh!
I'm not a huge sports fan, period, but I mean...if you live in Chicago you gotta love the Cubs or the Sox. Even if you're not a huge fan :p The Blackhawks I'm not a huge fan of. :p I've seen a Wolves game once...

ShelBel 07-26-2004 08:48 PM

Ah. Okay, that's pretty valid. I take it this is not a long-past relationship? Or is it a rebuilding friendship sort of thing?

Also, morbid curiosity compells me to ask: what exactly do you consider "your generation"s age range? ;)

PaulSimonon 07-26-2004 08:49 PM
No, i can't ice skate for my life. :( I play street hockey now and then though.
too bad, it would have been fun if you where in my division and we played, i was just in whiting (east of east chicago) :thumb: the other day, I live in indy,

ShelBel 07-26-2004 08:49 PM

And I just gotta say YAY for hockey and YAY for the Wolves!

Ruhtra 07-26-2004 08:50 PM

The Wolves are the opposite of the Hawks. The Wolves are fan friendly. Blackhawks ownership has no clue at all, but this offseason has shown a bit of a departure from "business as usual".

Lol :p Weyell ya see, I'm only 13 :p I often times find that it's easier for me to connect with older girls. Girls my age? Sterile. Hot, stupid guys, with the motorcycles and stupid leather jackets. That play GUITAR. And lead sing. In bands that play Pop-Punk. Younger? Immature. :p

It's a rebuilding friendship sort of thing. Yes I know I'm young to have a relationship, but she became one of those "enjoys talking behind others backs" type of person.

I r not the hockey fan. I've got a friend who plays Hockey in Skokie and it's rather interesting...he's the stereotypical nerd...
